    Listen to them carefully since they lived with success and failures.

    You can do your own thing but remember if you fail you're on your own.

    They probably mean well but just don't know they are being hurtful. Obviously, it should also depend on what the dream is. If you want to be a stuntperson, or a terrorist, or a hired assassin for example..well, shouldn't their wishes be understandable? Up to you to do whatever you want though, assuming you're 18+

    You find a way to pursue it on your own. Parental support is nice but not necessary.

    It's your dream. You tell us whether you will pursue it or not. It's nicer to have support, but many times in life it will be we alone who either pursue or don't pursue a particular dream.
