Should I contact my employer?

My granddaughter is in foster care and because I’m being assessed I have had to give my work companysbname and address for a employers reference to social services now Called the children’s trust. I work in a school cleaning and the company is private. The social worker said to tell the school but it’s not the school that employers me it’s as I said a private company. I don’t know what to say really but should I tell them or just leave it?

Update:

I’m being assessed to foster my granddaughter

Update 2:

Should I write to my employer and explain or send him a text or call him ?

If you are working for a contract agency, just tell the social worker that you work for (example) Clean Inc., at Ben Franklin School. Most people can understand this, even though it seems odd to some. Your employer is the name on your paycheck or direct deposit.

Just tell them, no reason not to and it could at least seem a bit odd if you don't tell them.

Make sure the social worker understands you work for a contractor for the school and that she has the right contact information to call. You don’t want the school to be contacted about an employee that they don’t have.

Next contact your employer and explain to them why your employment need to be verified. Otherwise your employer might think you are looking for other work.

Contact both of them, then you are covered.

    Good Luck.

I'd ask the social services for clarification.

Inform your employer if they need to verify your employment.

Inform the school if they need character witnesses of people you work around.

Could be that you need to inform both of them.
