A friend of mines told the police that my brain is corrupted. Is that reason enough for them to take me to the hospital.?

She could get you committed if she is willing to fill out paperwork and go before a judge claiming your mental illness is causing her problems. I did this for a neighbor who was threatening a relative with nutty letters. Especially if you have a history of mental illness.

Looking at your question history, it looks like you have become agitated just in the last few days. The police only become involved if they have a reason to believe you pose a danger to yourself or somebody else based on something you have said or done. I don't see anger in any of your questions so I suspect they are afraid you might hurt yourself. If the doctors do not see you pose a clear danger to yourself or others you will not be held beyond the evaluation.

It is enough reason for them to talk to you and decide if you seem unstable or not. If you do seem unstable, they can take you to the local mental ward for evaluation.

Depending upon what state and even which county in some states, they may be able to hold you for 36 hours.
