They have deceived themselves into thinking there is no hope and that it's impossible for things to ever get better.
The truth is if everybody gave up and killed themselves when they felt that way there would be nobody left.
No matter how depressed you might be , things can ALWAYS get better and will as long as you stay positive and keep pushing forward.

Because the thought of not living at all instead of continuing to live with people like you seems more reasonable to them. That or they fear a worser fate. Like someone owes a criminal organization a large debt, and fears the hell they will be put through because of what they owe, so they take a faster and easier way out instead. Or someone just got diagnosed with a cancer or other horrible terminal illness, and they choose to go now instead of suffer to only die later.

So they see no other way. Why live each day in pain and reject in this wicked world. It's most difficult for those who dont have family or friends to confide in.
I have just told you why I often think of suicide.

"it's when you are in so much pain, and see no light at the end of the tunnel. It isn't that you want to die; you just want the pain to stop. " As a person that sometimes has suicidal thoughts this is the BEST answer and the correct one. the rest here who are saying people are selfish and such are ******* morons.

Despair. A person who doesn't see value in their own life any more is more likely to throw it away than a person who doesn't. This is why Suicide Prevention lines attempt to build a person up. Giving them reasons to live can get them through at least 1 more day.
