Yahoo's "verify" pics getting weird?
The last few I've seen on Q&A have pics of places I've actually been to. Don't know what's to be accomplished by doing that anyway. But it is weird. Another long time yahoo mbr called me yesterday and asked the same thing.

We have to go through this in order to ask and/or answer questions because this site wants to make sure the users are not bots.

What's being accomplished is a reduction (if not complete elimination) of spam bot posting on the site. It would take very sophisticated bots to decipher the images that users are being asked to select. It's also faster if you click the headphones icon and just go through the audio captcha instead (type one significant word you hear, and you're done).

the captchas are terrible and they are of poor quality. they are a real pain and do not add anything to the quality of YA.
