anking Josephus expert Louis H. Feldman in his notation in the Loeb Classical Library edition of Josephus: "…few have doubted the genuineness of this passage on James" (Louis H. Feldman, tr., Josephus, IX [Cambridge, MA: Harvard University Press, 1965], 496).

The preponderance of evidence, then, strongly suggests that Josephus did indeed mention Jesus in both passages.

Why share such a small portion of the paragraph?

Josephus didn't say that. I'm guessing you don't read too well or too much.

While that particular passage in Josephus' writings was most likely a later insert by Christians the other times he mentioned Jesus were judged to be actually his because of the writing style.

As Josephus was not a Christian, it is doubtful that he would say that.

Five hundred years before the birth of Josephus, the Levites where completely married into and mixed into the Judeans (Jews) and Benjamites, and by the time of Josephus every Jew was just as much a Levite as any other.
