Why is the UK having a General Election when the Country needs a confirmatory referendum to settle Brexit?

Update:

Remainers are being encouraged to vote Lib-Dem coz they’ve promised to revoke Article 50.... But their other policies are awful.

Leavers are being encouraged to vote Conservative so they can force Brexit thru which will destroy our Country.

Second referendum supporters are being encouraged to vote Labour but they’re planning to nationalise everything.

What a terrible set of choices...!

Your question is right. Boris Johnson wants to gain an election majority to get his leaving manifesto through parliament. But the same dilemma still exists, some people have changed their minds since the last referendum, we need another one.

No we don't. We need a general election to remove the problem MP's from their cushy overpaid jobs.

We had a referendum and the traitors in Parliament refused to honour it. Now we need to get rid of them some we can actually have a bit of democracy and get what the majority voted for,

You don't have a second referendum because the politicians refuse to honour the first.

it cant settle I keep telling you the political system we had is archaic its OK if you have power and an army to gently persuade the opposition which is what they are trying to do someone tough they want . there is no one tough as Boris the bold proved its all mouth . He tried like a wet lettuce leaf and still they love him its the others they wont lie down and die any more , its a watershed we made a bad choice they will not admit it , they cling on to the will of the people like jesus carrying his cross its over the election will prove it Boris may win we will all lose I guarantee it look after your own fu** the rest they brought it on themselves the media the Nazis the racists the poison has done for us

It doesn't actually 'need' Brexit in any shape or form, and particularly not a deal that is worse than staying in.

We're having our main course before our starter, then we'll probably need to have another main course, for desert: our country will burn down

They want an early general election, we aren't getting one, parliament said no to an early general election. This country doesn't know what to do anymore about Brexit so they are trying to find ways around it.
