Just sore you can ice it to help the recover time but you should be allot stronger once it heals. I would recomend you do not work out in the mean time at least for 5 days. The other thing it can be is a torn muscle which might require surgery and therapy. In this case a percent of your muscle fibers torn off. Only a physician can tell you if it is torn. You should definitely ice it and do not stretch until it is healed.

You could have strained or torn something, developed tendonitis, or pinched a nerve. If possible, see a doctor for a diagnosis. If you're lucky it may just take some rest, ice and NSAIDs to fix you up. If it's more serious you may be looking at physical therapy.
