asking for walker from my doctor... at age 28? ?

I am uneasy about asking my doctor if he could put in a request for me to get a walker. I had a knee and ankle sprain in November and instead of healing it developed into CRPS. Ive had a series of nerve blocks done which temporarily helps but the pain comes back and it burns a lot. Its hard for me to stand for more than 10 minutes straight and i also find it hard to walk.  My leg burns almost daily and i get a lot of spasms. Ive fallen a handful of times since my injury and my balance is off. I wanted to ask my doctor if he would request a walker for me but i dont want to be judged and also im scared that he will say im "too young" for a walker...but a walker would make my life easier.. i have crutches but they put a lot of strain on my hands and i like that the more modern walkers have a seat built-in. Actually, i would most likely use a walker to be seated while cooking and if im out i could sit down on the walker, but like i said im afraid that he won't understand...:/.

Why bother. I am in the UK and bought one for my husband off Amazon. Cost me £36  not sure what that is in dollars. Arrived in 2 days. There were cheaper ones.

Tell him you are finding the crutches problematic and as if there are other options. Ask if he thinks a walker would suit better. Or perhaps a different style of crutches.

Asking your physiotherapist is also an option.
