Would you agree or disagree? that emotions are actually completely irrational and have no basis to actually being utilized.?

If you think about it.. do emotions really have an actual purpose? people don't like to think about it, but all of what is considered tragic is actually caused by the fact that humans have emotion. It was anger that drove someone to start a fight. It was hatred and despise that drove genocide, mass-shootings, racism, etc. all emotions really do is cause mental irrationality in the mind. Even if the emotions were positive there still is no actual basis for them being logical as it is only just feelings/chemicals confided to specific things/people, which are meaningless in long-term scale existence or anything with an objective or universal meaning if there even is any. What would you say on the matter; your opinions anyone?

Emotions are not productive. They interfere with rational and logical thinking. They result in less than optimal decision making. It's an old saying, but when making decisions, think "What would Spock do?" You can't go very far wrong if you do this.

Fall in love one time. Then bash emotion.

If you don't have a care (emotions) for others that wasn't solely based on self preservation, then you are a weak link in the pack. So caring for others is a survival trait for the species. An argument can also be made for anger and revenge, again traits needed in some form to benefit the pack. Also, competition within the species is needed for the species to evolve and naturally weed out bad mutations and preserve good ones. New technology, interesting enough, has changed the playing field, though. Now, good random mutations (genes) are preserved because of our inherent desire to help everyone, and we do this completely by accident, only because it feels right, not because of some logical rationalization. I posit that we wouldn't be where we are at right now without emotions. Anyway, you only listed negative results, which is cherry picking.
