Assuming your doctor is a licensed professional he/she isn't going to listen to any of you armchair quarterbacks. Besides, at 18 unless your parents have a medical conservatorship over you you're capable of advocating for yourself with your doctor. You're not a minor anymore.

First of all you have no business "TELL" you parents to "TELL" your doctor anything about medication dosage.
Second neither you or you parents are doctors
Third this is not the place to attempt to argue what may become an addiction issue.
Finally, you obviously have a voice talk to the doctor yourself.

You gave no details or information about your situation, so we can't really advise you. Write again and give your age, your diagnosis, what the medication is, why your mother thinks you are depressed and suicidal. Parents don't get to "tell" doctors how to prescribe, that's a decision the doctor makes.
