How do you divide the written Word of God from these four verses in the bible?

2 Corinthians 5:10   1 Corinthians 10:23   1 John 3:4    Mark 10:21

Update:

2 Corinthians 5:10

Modern English Version

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive his recompense in the body, according to what he has done, whether it was good or bad.

Update 2:

1 Corinthians 10:23

Modern English Version

23 “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things edify.

Update 3:

1 John 3:4

Modern English Version

4 Whoever practices sin breaks the law, for sin is lawlessness.

Update 4:

Mark 10:21

Modern English Version

21 Then Jesus, looking upon him, loved him and said to him, “You lack one thing: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. And come, take up the cross and follow Me.”

Update 5:

Hmm. Could you give the chapter and verse so I can read from the bible to see if that is what it says?

Update 6:

The thing is they consider you to have a dead spirit that does not have the Living Spirit inside of you Foinery Unlimited.

Update 7:

Hmm. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Now is it the written Word of God? Then what if I don't understand it?...lol How do I get as you say born again then?...lol

Update 8:

Hmm. Snowbird My name is spelled Steven. I forgive your rudeness.

Since none of the gods ever "wrote" anything and it is all the presentation of man, I tend to give them little significance.

  • Steven, Snowbird hasn't been born again or she calls GOD A LIAR when HE SAID

"But as many as received Him, to them gave He (((POWER))) [Received after Holy Spirit baptism; Acts 1:5;8]  to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:

Which were born ["again" John 3:5-7], not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man [I Peter 1:23], but of God" (John 1:12-13).

She would know (John 14:26) "Be ready to always give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that's in you with meekness and fear" (I Peter 3:15) but she tells you "Go do your own homework" and if "You can't you must not be born again" when you're trying to come unto Christ.

Firebird don't know a question when she sees one and is why she wrongly "reports."  These poor twisted today's Christians. "God is watching" (Jeremiah 23:24).

    II Corinthians 5:10 means

"The spirit returns to God who gave it" (Ecclesiastes 12:7).  "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter..." (Ecclesiastes 12:13) "For God shall bring ever work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil" (Ecclesiastes 12:14)

"And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire" (Revelation 20:13-15).

"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the (((FIRST RESURRECTION))) [When we are resurrected from our "DEAD spirits" Romans 5:12-14; When His (((POWER))) comes upon us" Acts 1:8; after Holy Spirit baptism; Acts 1:5 Who "QUICKENS" us I Corinthians 15:45; "back to life" Ephesians 2:1; from our "DEAD spirits" I Corinthians 15:21-22]: on such the second death hath no power [Romans 6:5-11], but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, [I Peter 2:9] and shall reign with him a thousand years" (Revelation 20:6).

    I Corinthians 10:23 means

"...for by the law is the knowledge of sin" (Romans 3:20) and is why "All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things edify" since "edification" comes "by revelation" (Ephesians 4:11-13; Galatians 1:12; Acts 1:2).

    I John 3:4 means

"Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man ["for the law is the knowledge of sin" Romans 3:20], but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,” (I Timothy 1:9) and is why " Whoever practices sin breaks the law, for sin is lawlessness."

    Mark 10:21 means

"Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" (Romans 6:16) which doesn't mean LITERALLY "You lack one thing: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. And come, take up the cross and follow Me.”

I pray GOD "with fear and trembling" the words that came from my mouth were DIRECTLY "from heaven" (John 3:27) and I was not persuaded by self in any manner!

It is not THEY who consider we are born with a DEAD spirit (Romans 5:12-14) or you don't believe Jesus when HE SAID "You must be born again of the spirit" (John 3:5) and He wouldn't have commanded it if your spirit wasn't DEAD!

Even the Prophet David said in Psalm 51:5  "Surely I was brought forth in iniquity; I was sinful when my mother conceived me" and in Psalm 58:3 "The wicked are estranged from the womb: They go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies." and "Sin is death" (Romans 6:23)!

Being a "DEAD spirit" (I Corinthians 15:21-22) you can't "HEAR" [spiritually; Matthew 13:10-15] but have to be "born by the Word of God" (I Peter 1:23) by a "SENT preacher" (Romans 10:14-15).

You are doing the right thing ASKING QUESTIONS and STUDYING SCRIPTURES

    as the "Bereans"

"These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” (Acts 17:11).

You see how "the devil" don't want you to obey the Word of GOD (I Corinthians 10:21)?

    That's Y/A!

They don't know and is why they told you "DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK!"

They are already divided from each other

    and

only one of them (Mark 10:21) records the literal word of God.

All are worthwhile instruction for the devout Christian.

Your question is way too broad and ambiguous to be adequately answered in this forum.  You might as well ask, "How do you understand God's word?" But I'll help you with the 1Cor and Mk 10 passages.

First you have to understand that the NT was written in ancient Greek uncials (ALL CAPS) with no spaces and no punctuation.  So it takes Bible scholars familiar with that language to translate it into modern English which does have punctuation, and there is some judgment involved, thus one reason for all the different versions.

Obviously not everything is lawful for us to do.  The context of Paul's first letter to the Corinthians is that he is quoting something they are saying and rebutting it from a spiritual standpoint.  Therefore for example, it isn't against the law for you to cuss out a fellow Christian, but for sure that won't build them up (i.e. edify them).

The Rich Young Ruler was in a unique situation.  First note that Jesus basically told him to continue obeying God and he would be saved.  He could have just walked away.  But then he pressed the issue by asking if there was more.  Jesus gave him the opportunity to basically be another apostle with him, but he would have to leave everything behind as (Peter mentioned later).  He didn't want to do that.

We don't have the same opportunity to follow Jesus physically like that young man did, thus that part of the story doesn't apply.  But it does show how it's possible for people to be so distracted by wealth, that they miss golden spiritual opportunities, even to the point of possibly losing their salvation.

You first need to explain what you mean by that word, "divide". Old Christians like me and Ernest S take the Shakespearean meaning of "expound the meaning in context". Young folk today will think it means to separate those verses from the rest of the Bible. All I would point out is that the Modern English Version you cite is full of misleading language, and that could be the real problem you are having here. Try the Authorized Version (K.J. - written in the English of Shakespear's day.)

Well you don't !!! THat is why we have creeds and a Church.

Where it is 'Of Faith" you will know. And where it isn't you can have any defensible answer.

Steven is that a homework question?  It certainly sounds like it.  You do your own homework. The Bible makes perfect sense.  I am not explaining every verse to you.  You should know what it means if you are born again - if not, it won't help you to know.  Get born again first - do it the right way around.  Then the scriptures will become clear by the Holy Spirit who will live in you. If not, then you need to be born again - once you are born again and alive in the Holy Spirit the scriptures will become very clear because He came to lead and guide us into all truth

Simple.  You are duty bound to find a way to harmonize, blend, and integrate the original intent (exegesis) of the divine narrative, and to apply (hermeneutics) of that intent.  It may involve examination of context, time and place, accommodation, etc.

    By the Spirit.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
