How can I help my chronic constipation and sever bloating? ?

I’m really at a complete loss for what to do anymore, I have suffered with chronic constipation for about a year, I don’t go to the toilet unless I take a double does of laxative. I’ve been to multiple doctors and specialists and I’ve had a colonoscopy and all of them say there’s nothing wrong, I’ve also been tested negative for celiac disease and things like that. I have a mainly whole foods diet with lots of fibre and I haven’t eaten anything processed in a long time as I know that doesn’t help. I am also vegetarian and replace meat with things like eggs. I’ve tried cutting out so many food groups ( including gluten) and regularly eat things like flaxseed and prunes. I usually try and wait as long as I can before taking laxatives but usually end up having to take them after a week as I will literally not go to the toilet. I also bloat to the point of looking full term pregnant after everything I eat which is super painful. Doctors have also sort of given up on me as they can’t find an answer. A lot of the time the constipation gets so bad I become physically unwell and get fevers as I have the toxins in my bloodstream. I just wondered if anyone’s been through anything similar and if anyone has any advice? thanks in advance

You really should try taking Magnesium.

If the doctor can not anything wrong, chances are, that the problem is caused by medication (your laxative can cause constipation)

Also, it sounds like they looked at your colon and called it good. You actually might have a diabetes problem.

Look into causes of leaky gut.  Yes, that's the medical term.

You should be eating ONLY whole foods.   No sugars,  syrups,  juices,  HFCS,  nectar or white flour products.

If you have eliminated the above and still have problems,  try fiber supplements as they are 100% soluble fiber and are kind of like a stool softener.

Use Mirilax in lieu of stimulants as it is not an active laxative but something more like medical strength prune juice.  You cannot OD or be harmed from it.

If all this doesn't work (and truly try it first), there is a neurological condition where the sacral nerve is not functioning correctly and an electronic stimulation device is surgically implanted near the tailbone and you get a little remote that when you press go, you bowels open up.

I'm not a doctor; just relaying information I found whilst spending years researching my own bowel dysfunction.   Turns out that it was 95% sugar and other sources of fructose outside whole foods that was my cause,  so a simple dietary change yielded my solution.

I never got any biometric feedback butt implant, but in order to live,  you do what you gotta do.

Source(s): PS I know more about nutrition than most nutritionists. Meat doesn't clean your stomach; insoluble fiber (whole foods yay!) DOES. Eggs are an animal product that becomes an animal. To your body, it doesn't care WHERE you get your tryptophan, etc. It only cares that you do. There is no plant based source high enough in tryptophan, but target tryptophan. It means more happiness, contentment and less depression and anxiety. It's a biochemistry thing;)

Yes stop using the laxatives. Stop drinking coffee and tea and sodas!  Start eating food that has lots of fiber in it like Mexican tacos and tostadas. and make sure that you eat plenty of hot sauce with it. Followed by a very large glass of water.  Start off with one single meal that is solid followed by a very large glass of water.

Then eat absolutely nothing except large glasses of skim milk and fruit juice. Until you have your bowel movement which won't be long if you follow those directions.

Especially if the fruit juice is prune juice.

It's going to be quite liquid!  You're going to have to put up with that for a couple of days. Then you can start to introduce oatmeal in the morning one cup. Followed by the skim milk and a big glass of prune juice.

Again lots of prune juice and water. Stay on this diet for a week or two until the equipment gets to running freely then you can add a third solid meal and keep with the lots of fruit juice water and prune juice on top of it.

And absolutely avoid any kind of opioid or kratom if you're having problems passing stuff stay off all forms of caffeine because it will paralyze your digestive system and make you pee but you won't be able to poo.

When you constantly take laxatives, your body gets "lazy". It stops doing the work of eliminating waste, because the chemical have taken over. You need to get off the laxatives, which might be uncomfortable for a while. You didn't say what you eat- fresh fruits and vegetables have fiber and are very helpful. You should also be taking a probiotic every day. It restores the appropriate bacteria to your gut- the ones that are needed for elimination.

If your doctors didn't find a physical issue, the problem is your diet. And my guess is you're eating way too much fiber. Start an elimination diet, cutting out known triggers (and bulk fiber like flaxseed would be a BIG one) one food group at time.  Eat more fresh fruit & steamed veggies, less grain products. Dairy may or may not be a factor; for some ppl, adding milk helps whereas cheese worsens the problem. Make sure you're hydrating well, but cut back on tea, coffee & alcohol. Elimination dieting is a tedious, lengthy process, but it's the best way to identify the culprit.

Also, don't take stimulant laxatives. That in itself can cause your symptoms. Switch to a stool softener such as docusate calcium (Surfak) that can be taken daily without a rebound effect.
