Is there anyway to get your dead husband's retirement if you already get a pinching?

    well its my mom, my dad passed and she called and started getting a pension (sorry) and now shes wanting to retire from her job. she called and was told she cant get her retirement since she receives that pension, even though she wasnt told her options before. I was hoping i could ask on here and get some help

    It depends on what were the stipulations of 

    HIS pension. For example, with mine we had 

    an option to get less now but having her able 

    to continue to receive after I'm gone, or to 

    receive more now but it ends when I die. 

    Since she also has a hefty pension, we 

    opted for the latter... therefore mine will 

    end when I'm gone and she can't get 

    any of it.

    Contact where he use to work, and advise them of his passing. his retirement has nothing to do with the one you receive.

    A "pinching"? You mean "pension "?

    At any rate, since no one here knows where your husband retired from or what their policies are, we can't tell you.
