Can construction companies give you a fine for speeding through their work zone if no police officer is present?

Construction workers do not have any legal authority, so they cannot write fines. If an officer was present, the officer would write the ticket.

It is a company imposed civil fine. You can challenge it in court, but if you are on camera violating company policies they will win.

Construction companies don’t have any authority to enforce the law. Only a cop can give tickets. They can set up a speed camera and send you a ticket in the mail though.
