What is your opinion about prisoner’s rights?

Do prisoners have too many, too little, or just right?

I am British and when in the military I had to deliver prisoners to MCTC (Military Corrective Training Centre) for military personnel who had broken military law.

They are not tortured or beaten in any way but they are treated fairly but in a tough regime.

For example, no computers, games, TVs etc. All they have is ONE radio and the cells accommodate about 12 prisoners. Each barrack room vie for the use of the radio for a week and the barrack room deemed the best gets it for that week.

When released on 5% of the prisoners reoffend but in normal prisons over 70% of those released reoffend.

In my opinion all prisoners should be treated like those in the British military prison.

Any prison which is effectively controlled by the inmates -- where  other inmates do not feel safe -- is one where prisoners have been too many rights.

Once you lose your freedom you lost your most important right. Prison is no fun.

Most of their rights should be taken away when they got convicted of their crime.

In the United States, there is the presumption of innocence. This is the most important one. They have due process rights to a fair trial and right to counsel [state appointed if necessary]; if conviction can potentially entail prison. These are fundamental minimum rights that should never be tampered with.
