Their problem.. not yours.  Eat what you want and they eat what they want.  Problem solved.  And who cares what he likes and dislikes regarding food.  Its your body and your dollars buying the food.

He's not a real Hindu if he's giving you shyte about your choice to eat meat.  REAL Hindus do not do that.  It goes against their ways.  Hindus are tolerant people.  I have Hindu neighbors and I often join them for meditations and chanting and they have NEVER said a word to me about eating meat.  They don't eat meat, but they don't expect EVERYONE to stop eating meat.  I don't eat red meat anyway, and I could very easily be a vegetarian but I REFUSE to give up seafood.  Your wife's friend is a Hindu Hypocrite.

In the Hindu culture, cattle are considered sacred- they are important animals, and their bodies are believed to be temples of the Hindu deity. That's why they are allowed to roam loose in places like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh etc., and are protected by law against any harm. You can't shoot a cow in these countries- it's a severe sacrilege to do so. Part of the prohibition against harming these animals extends to consuming their flesh as food. That's why Hindus don't eat beef. They also do not eat or consume pork or pork products, because hogs are viewed as unclean and harbingers of evil spirits.

I suspect your friend is probably an ovo-lacto or ovo-vegetarian in addition to being Hindu. Most Hindus have no issue with eating meat from animals such as sheep and goats. And they eat poultry and poultry products, including eggs.
