I'm 27 and I recently achieved a bachelor's in English. I'm working toward my Master's in English now. I love poetry!

  • How do I stay asleep the whole night through?

I wake up multiple times each night and I invariably wake up an hour before my alarm goes off. No matter what time I go to sleep, I wake up around 7am. I'm overweight, so I know that probably has something to do with it, but I've been overweight for most of my life and this inability to stay asleep has only been happening for the last year or so. I don't have any problems falling asleep, it's just staying asleep that is tough. I used to listen to music while I slept, but now I turn on a movie instead. I have tried melatonin (which had almost no effect at all) and Z-Quill (which worked for a while) but I'd really rather not take pills/medicine if there's a more natural way to stay asleep.

Can I get some ideas on how to help myself stay asleep?

  • How can I download .epub files onto my Droid X2?

I just got a Motorola Droid X2 phone and I downloaded several ereader apps, but when I tried to download an ebook from my computer, it says that both .epub and .mobi are an "unsupported file type." The Motorola people said that I should be able to download a third party app from the Android Market which will enable me to download the files, but I don't know how to find it.

Can someone help me? I really want to be able to read my books.

  • What kind of poem should I write?

So, I want to write a poem called Morning Sin but I can't decide which form to use. I'm thinking about doing several forms all with the same title because each form suggests a different tone. What do you think, oh Yahoo Poets?

  • Why didn't the money borrowed for the stimulus package go directly to American tax payers?

It seems to me that the best way to stimulate the economy and bail out the banking and auto industries would be to put money into the hands of consumers which will enable them to pay their bills and increase their spending.

Why it is that the administration chose to use the $790 billion in the ways that it did, rather than simply giving the money (I've read that this would amount to around $200,000 per tax payer) to tax payers?

  • Is there a good place online to check the value of old books?

I have a bunch of old books, dating back into the late 1800's and want to know if they're worth anything. Is there a good website to do this?

  • Should it be 'Sheik' or 'Sultan'?

I'm writing story in which the heroine travels to Turkey in the late 1800's and is abducted to become a servant in a harem. So far, I've been using the title 'sheik' for the ruler whose harem it is, but I'm wondering if it is more appropriate for me to use the title 'sultan'. I'd like to know which sounds more natural; please advise.

  • What is the Turkish word for "person who cries"?

Or something equivalent. I'm writing a story and one of the characters cries a lot, so I want her to be called whatever the word is for "weeper" or "person who cries."

  • What do you think about this statistic?

I recently heard a statistic that stated that by 2012 the majority of US citizens will be non-Caucasian. Will this mean that we will be given minority status and thereby receive race specific scholarships and affirmative action benefits?

  • What do you think this lyric means?

The song is "Post Blue" but Placebo. The line in question is: "I break the back of love for you." I think it's expressing a positive emotion, but I'm not competely sure. Help?

    Here is the whole song:

It's in the water, baby, it's in the pills that bring you down

It's in the water, baby, it's in your bag of golden brown

It's in the water, baby, it's in your frequency

It's in the water, baby, it's between you and me

It's in the water, baby, it's in the pills that pick you up

It's in the water, baby, it's in the special way we ****

It's in the water, baby, it's in your family tree

It's in the water, baby, it's between you and me

Bite the hand that feeds, tap the vein that bleeds,

Down on my bended knees, I break the back of love for you

I break the back of love for you! (x3)

It's in the water, baby, it's in the pills that bring you down

It's in the water, baby, it's in your bag of golden brown

It's in the water, baby, it's in your frequency

I break the back of love for you...

  • Do you prefer Internet Explorer or Firefox and why?

I prefer Firefox because I find that it has better functionality. I like the bookmarks toolbar and I like it that when I click on a link, the link opens automatically in a new tab rather than a new window.

    I'm curious what others think.

  • Why are people being so vicious and mean-spirited?

Okay, we get it, President Bush hasn't been the best President and Barack Obama is the first black president-elect. Okay. Yes, McCain lost and Republicans are not in charge any more, and maybe it will turn out to be the best thing for the country. So why continue to be mean and vicious? Why do so many people feel the need to continue to tear down the current President, who is still the chosen leader of this country until Jan 20, and to tear down the Republican ticket when they're obviously hurting enough having lost? I'm not saying there aren't negative things about both the President and his Party, but why the need to be so vicious?

  • Are you grossed out by disembodied hair?

I hate to have hair on me. Especially wet hair. You know, when you get out of the shower and run your fingers through your hair and it sticks to you and won't come off no matter how hard you shake your hand. I think it's gross, do you? Do you think it's a phobia?

  • Let's re-do the election and put Optimus Prime on the ballot. Are you with me?

Prime would be a wise amd benevolent President who is not only indestructible in himself, but would make the US indestructible as well. I think we should take back our ballots and re-do the whole thing.

    Prime 08! Who's with me?

I do. I totally think it's a crock that Phoebe ends up with Cupid and not with Cole. What do you think?

  • Can you carry your group to your hearth if it's in Shattrath City?

Someone told me that there's a way that a player whose hearthstone is set at Shatt can carry a group along with him when he hearths. Is this true and if so, how does it work?
