What percentage of the world's Muslim women do NOT wear a headscarf?
And by 'headscarf' I include any head or face coverings worn for purposes of hijab. If you can provide any citations, it would be very much appreciated.

As a Canadian citizen, do I have the right to settle in Svalbard under the terms of the Spitsbergen Treaty?
1 AnswerOther - Politics & Government7 years agoWhat are these yellow flowers used for cooking?
I spent some time in the Caucasus, and everyone in the rural areas would hang two things up to dry, to be used later for cooking: strings of red chilis and strings of saffron-coloured flowers. I thought it WAS saffron, until I learned that saffron flowers are purple. Any idea what they might have been?
1 AnswerBotany7 years agoLongest, snowiest, darkest winters?
What city has the longest, snowiest, darkest winters? I'm not looking for the coldest winters per se. Just long, dark and snowy. Mild (never hot or muggy) during the rest of the year.
I imagine this might be somewhere in Canada, Nordic Europe, maybe the USA? Any country will do.
4 AnswersGeography8 years agoMatch the description to a location?
- Never colder than 10C absolute minimum, never warmer than 30C absolute maximum
- Minimal precipitation year-round, seldom overcast (and thus most likely not coastal)
- Plenty of sunshine year-round (at least 300 days per year), high altitude, fresh water (lakes, rivers), plenty of dense forest
Just name anywhere on earth that meets the above description!
1 AnswerOther - Society & Culture8 years agoI want to become a Steiner (Waldorf) teacher?
I am looking for a program to become a teacher in the Steiner (Waldorf) method. It doesn't matter to me where this program is offered-- I have been looking in Canada, the USA, Australia, New Zealand and the UK so quite honestly anywhere is acceptable and I am used to changing countries. However, I am not interested in any part-time programs, and the trouble is that virtually all programs offered anywhere are only part-time. If anyone knows of a full-time program (i.e. all week, all year) then please let me know.
Thanks!

5 AnswersOther - Canada9 years agoWhich religion has the smallest number of saints/prophets/Gods/gurus/etc?
Every religion seems to be so simple at first, then you discover that really there's hundreds of different enlightened masters or prophets or what have you. Are there any religions which are really just... simple?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhat historical Mormon-related texts are non canonized by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?
I know that they have canonized some of Joseph Smith's personal history that he wrote, but not all of it. They have also canonized parts of Joseph Smith's translation of the Bible (from Genesis and Matthew) but not all of it. Is there anything else? Any declarations, that sort of thing?

3 AnswersTrivia9 years agoHow to start a career on container ships (Canada)?
I'm aware that in the USA you need a Z-card, but one of the requirements of obtaining one is that you need to be an American citizen. That doesn't apply to me, so how do I go about obtaining the necessary documents to work on container ships as a Canadian citizen?
1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment9 years agoWhy does the Nunavut-NWT border divide so many tiny islands?
An island that is considerably smaller than PEI is located half in the Northwest Territories, and half in Nunavut. Who on earth drew up this border? Call me OCD, but it bothers me every time I look at a map. And it's not just one tiny island that's inexplicably divided, it's a whole bunch of them. Utter nonsense.
2 AnswersGeography9 years agoWhat can you tell me about this mountain?
It's called Mount Okhachkue, it's in Georgia, and I can't seem to find anything about it other than maps. I wake up every morning to see it out my bedroom window but no one seems to know a thing about it. They don't even seem to be sure of the name, so I've been looking for pictures if I can find any, to confirm that this is the correct mountain.

1 AnswerNon-Alcoholic Drinks9 years agoWas corruption rampant in the early United States?
America was a developing country, and like all developing countries I'm sure not every election was exactly "free and fair."
What evidence do we have of ballot-box stuffing, voter intimidation, etc in the first 50 or so years of America's history? How do we know that the government of James Madison, for example, was legitimate?
4 AnswersHistory9 years agoWar of 1812 question?
In 1813, the Americans captured Mobile, Alabama from the Spanish. They then used this as a base before losing it to the British, who abandoned it when the war ended.
Does this mean that the Spanish were involved in the war in some capacity? Or is that to be viewed as part of a separate conflict?
1 AnswerHistory9 years agoAccording to the Bible, didn't Jesus already come twice?
He came, he died, he came again. That's twice. So why do so many people get hung up on the idea of a future second coming?
