  • I'm on a well, and my pressure tank slowly loses pressure while no water is being used...?

...This is causing my well pump to kick on roughly every hour and a half. I turned the valve between the pressure tank and the house off, and the pressure gauge held steady for as long as the valve was off. When I opened the valve again, the gauge again reflected a slow drop in pressure. That being said, I'm assuming the tank itself is fine, as no pressure is lost when the valve is off. I checked for any visible leaks in the pipes, toilets, and faucets and found none...but I'm still assuming the problem is on the house side of things and not the well side. Would a plumber be able to do leak detection to see if I'm missing something? Has anyone ever had this issue before?

  • What is the best wax/wax blend to use to make scented wax melt potpourri/wax tarts?

I've read so much online about different waxes to use for candles, but nothing is mentioned about making wax melts. I'd assume it needs to be low melting point, and it should be able to hold a lot of fragrance. I just want to make sure I don't order something that's so soft that it's a mess to handle at room temperature. Help!

  • LP gas company won't remove their old tank from my property...?

A question for someone who can answer what my legal recourse is...I had purchased a home, and about a week after closing, I was informed by the realtor that the propane tank was only about 10% full. The tank that was already hooked up was a local company's tank, and of course I would have liked to go with them to continue my service. However, when I called them they told me there was "no way to tell when the truck would be out to refill the tank", not even a ballpark figure. I explained that the tank was almost empty , and we'd really like to continue service with their company, but the answer was still the same. Being November, they had really left me no choice but to have another company unhook their tank and hook up a new tank (LP companies will only deliver to their own company's tank.) So, the old tank is still sitting in my yard, after 3 phone calls to the old company to please come and remove it. I'm afraid I'm out of options, and may need to call my attorney...sad, but what else can I do? Any attorneys out there who can let me know what I'm facing here? Thanks!

  • What is the weather like in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize in January?

My husband and I have been dying to go back! We had gone in the end of April, and it was gorgeous. Our plan is to escape the Chicago winter for a week or two in January 2009.

  • Anyone had problems with the fog lights not working on their 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon?

I've had it at the dealer 3 times to fix the problem. Each time, they simply replace the fuse. The fog lights work before I leave the dealership. Then, when I drive out into the country on the weekend, surprise! They don't work! I haven't abused the car or taken it off road, so that's not a cause. My brights work..and I know you can't operate your brights and fogs at the same time...it's just getting frustrating! I've read about other complaints about chrysler vehicles, and how corporate is very non-reactive to consumer concerns...so it seems contacting corporate may be a dead end. The car is still under warrantee , but if this problem persists over time and the warratee runs out, I'll be stuck paying for this repair...which makes me wonder, should I be looking for a lawyer, so Jeep wil fix this once and for all? (or, if not, I won't be stuck paying for it?) BTW..everything else with the car is fine...Any input is appreciated..thanks!

  • Does everyone with a "Che" t-shirt understand why they're wearing it, or do they just think it's cool?

I mean, I've known people (who wear the shirt) who admitted to me that they don't really know what communism is, and were shocked to find out that wearing that shirt basically tells people you're all for it. Come on....capitalism made it possible for them to get the shirt in the first place. So...are there REALLY that many commie wanna-be's, or is it just a case of kids doing what they think is rebelling, without really knowing what's up?

  • Is fly fishing very difficult to learn?

My husband and I would like to try it next time we go to the Smoky Mountains. We'd get an experienced guide, of course, but, would we spend the entire day learning as opposed to catching fish? Are the fundamentals easy to learn?

  • Dishwasher drainage/air gap question...?

In Illinois, from what I gather from looking at the plumbing code, and "air gap" is not required for the drainage hose of a dishwasher. However, is it recommended to use one, as opposed to making the "high loop" in the drainage hose under the sink cabinet? Is the high loop usually enough?

  • Question for window/siding/exterior contractors...?

Hi! I need my old windows replaced...they are wood, and the wood in the corners of the area between the storm and the interior window is rotten. This has resulted in rotting in some of the studs behind the drywall, as moisture has found its way in there. Would window/siding contractors have the know how and the supplies to replace the rotting wood and the drywall in addition to replacing the windows, or is this more a job for a general contractor? I want to get some estimates, but I don't want to waste my time or any contractors' time. (Don't know if this makes a difference, but I'm in the NW burbs of Chicago.)

There are many Muslim countries which have outlawed it, yet the ban isn't enforced. Is this a practice that only happens in poorer Muslim countries? Do you agree with this practice? Why or why not?

  • why don't people pick up after their dogs?

I always carry at least 2 plastic grocery bags with me when I walk my dogs, so I can clean up after them. Now, it's not as though these bags are hard to come by, and it really doesn't take much effort to reach down and collect the poo. Not to mention, I don't want to walk my dogs tomorrow and run the risk of stepping in some business that I chose to ignore the day before. The worst part is, people seem to be pretty shameless about it. Is it laziness? Stupidity? Irresponsibility? All of the above? What gives?

  • All of you who clean up after your dogs, you're wonderful! Those of you who don't...and I know you're there..

...Why the heck wouldn't you? Don't you realize that the poop your doggie makes today, YOU may step in tomorrow? Sorry...I was just out with my dogs, and can't believe how many people just shamelessly let their dogs crap everywhere, and walk away. Plastic bags are not hard to come by these days, people...you'll never see me and my pups without at least 2 of them. What gives?
