  • How to set up wireless internet on my mac laptop?

I currently have Optimum Online High-Speed Cable Internet...connected through the modem to my Dell desktop computer.

I just purchased a Mac laptop and want to set up wireless for the laptop. I was planning on getting the linkskys WRT54G2 router. Do I need additional equipment ...like an ethernet cable to hook the router to the modem or an ethernet card for the mac laptop? Also, do I need to make any adjustments to my desktop computer. Thanks so much!

  • When factoring the debit to credit ratio....do they factor in all credit cards or look at each individually?

    For example,

    1st Card (Visa)

if you charged $1000 on a card with a $2000 limit

    2nd Card (MC)

    $300 on a $1000 Limit

When getting your credit score, do companies see them as being separate or combine/add your total balance of both cards like a total of:

    $1300 debt/ 3000 Limit

  • Balance/Limit on Credit Report?

When companies report your high balance on your credit card, how often do they update it?

For example, if your limit is $10,000. You spent 3K a couple of months ago (most you've spent on the card so far )....then 2K the next month. (Paying off each balance in full each month).

Would the high balance remain as:

    High Balance: 3K

    Limit 10K

    .....for how long??

  • Online Banking Savings Account?

If I open a WaMu Online savings account, how do I deposit my money in it? I have always used local banks, but the rates are so much better online....so I'm just confused on how exactly it works. Also, I don't have direct deposit.

    Thanks for any help!

  • What is a nice city/town to live in North or South Carolina?

I currently live in the NJ/NYC area and am looking to either move south to NC or SC or otherwise out west to Denver.

I'm in my mid 20s ...what would be a nice area to live in NC or SC...with good shopping, restaurants, and parks. I prefer to go hiking w/ my dogs or go to outdoor events rather than be in a club/bar ...so the town doesn't have to have an amazing night life.

I like the ocean and mountains...but if I had to choose one or the other it would be to live near the mountains. Job is flexible...so I'm not worried about that....as long as I'm close enough to a city.

    Any suggestions?

  • What's a nice wedding gift??

I'm in my early 20s, so I haven't been to that many weddings. Next month my boss is getting married and I can't think of any good wedding gifts to get him.

I don't really want to give money or a gift card. Anything you can think of that you have received or wish you had received as a wedding gift???

Thanks so much for your help!!!

  • Questions about buying a house?!? Do I need to build more credit?

I am looking into buying a small house in about a year or two. I would have about 15-20% of the down payment.

However, I want to move across the country and get a job in a new city. Would I have to be employed for a certain amount of months/years at the same job in this new city to be considered for a mortgage? I am thinking I would probably have to rent for while???? I am only 23 and have a very stable past as far as jobs and credit.

I currently only have 1 credit credit and I pay the whole thing off each month. I don't have any store credit cards. In addition, I have a savings and checking account. My parents helped pay for college...so I have no student loans or car loans to worry about?!?!

But what else should I be doing to help my credit or being approved for a loan in the future?!?!

Thanks in advance for any tips!!!

  • What is Littleton, Co like?!?

I have done some research about the area and the homes. It seems like a pretty nice suburban area.

I was just wondering if there is a little downtown area that you can just walk around or that has a few restaurants.....or do you really have to go to Denver for restuarants and entertainment?

Would you want to live in Littletown or is it boring compared to other towns in the Denver metro region?

  • Are the people in the Denver metro area friendly?!?!?

I have read mixed opinions. Some people say its very midwestern friendly while others say people are not friendly and inviting towards other.

Just wondering what your experiences have been and if you have lived somewhere else how do you compare it???

I live in NJ and everyone is so rude most of the time. My own neighbors are so weird and unfriendly....they never even say hi or respond if you walk down the street.

  • Broomfield, Co?!? Or any other nice suburbs between Denver and Boulder?!?!?

Is Broomfield, Colorado a nice city to live in? (Safe/family town--or is there a section that is not too good).

I like the prime location between Boulder and Colorado. Are there any other towns located in this area that are good and/or better yet still affordable (200k-300k houses)?

Any info would be great, thanks in advance!
