Can I persue a malpractice suit a year after the incident took place?
I was diagnosed with an incurable bladder disease in june of 2012. My local urologist insisted on cathing me each time I was in his office. This meant getting cathed six times over the course of two weeks, and several other times on seperate occasions. I was also put on a pill that is supposed to help with bladder spasms. After being on the pill for a while and asking (everytime) to be cathed with a size eight cath instead of a size fourteen, I went in to have medication put directly into the bladder. At this point my medical care providers noticed that my bladder was shutting down. Two weeks later my bladder shut down completely and I was given a folley cath and a urine bag. I lived this way for several weeks before finding a specialist for my condition. Upon my first visit to this specialist I was informed that my dr should have taken me off the bladder spasm pills at the first sign of a lethargic bladder. I also found out that due to the trauma of being cathed so many times I had developed a seperate condition called pelvic floor dysfunction. I should also include that when I asked my urologist why he didn't research such an unknown disease, he replied, "i have no interest in researching anything".
Can I still file for a malpractice suit? Do I file against the entire medical firm since I saw three different drs from there, or do I file three different suits?
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agoHow to keep in shape when sick?
I have an illness that often keeps me in bed or on the couch. My sickness is in my bladder so it's hard to do crunches or any exercise that focuses on my abdominal and pelvic area. I have gained about ten pounds since being diagnosed and I hate it. How do keep in shape and get my weight back down when it's difficult just getting out of bed most days?
1 AnswerRespiratory Diseases8 years agoHow to put your marriage before your illness?
I have an incurable bladder disease. My case is very severe and thus far Dr's have no lucrative answers (no treatment has worked). I am 21 and recently married to a wonderful, loyal, selfless man. My illness, however, often takes over our marriage and he becomes my care taker rather than my husband. I am seeking advice because I cannot seem to make our marriage first and my illness second. I am also terrified that if we can't do this now, then one day when I am better, we won't know how to be husband and wife, but be stuck in the patient and care taker dynamic. Any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated.
5 AnswersMarriage & Divorce8 years agoDo I need to have a blood count check?
I have a bladder disease, and this past week I developed a bladder infection. I have been peeing dark thick blood for going on five days. It is extremely painful to urinate due to the golf ball size clots that I have the push out of my urethta in order to pass any urine/blood.
My utologist refused to check my blood, saying it was unnessecary. My fiance says my body is cold to the touch, however, I feel very hot. (I am a twenty year old female, if that is at all relevant.)

2 AnswersHair9 years agoLadies, please help me. IC patient?
I was just diagnosed with IC. I am going in for hydrodestention next week and I'm scared to death.?
I am nineteen years old. I was first told I may have IC at fourteen, but waited until now to go to a uro (it has recently become much worse). I have had three previous surgeries, so anesthesia is nothing new. How much pain will I be in when I wake up? How long will the pain last? Is the pain worse than the pain of an appendectomy? Some one please help me. I am scared to death.
