  • Can't remember the name of this show...?

This show is a miniseries about people living in a dystopian town and each person's identity is a number. There is no number 1. The town leader is number 2. That's all I can remember. Anybody know what show I'm talking about? For some reason I want to say it's called "The Visitor". Is that right?

  • Question about PGP Keys?

I've been doing some exploring in the deep web and I've noticed that when users post their PGP keys as such

    BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK

20 or more lines of code later...

    END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK

So my first question is how could I see my PGP key as code?

Second question is how does PGP communication work? Does the other person automatically get my PGP key when I send them an encrypted message?

  • Women, need advice on first date etiquette for men?

I'll break it down into a few numbered bulletins (forgive me, I'm an over thinker):

    1. I know I should open doors for her, but does that include my car door?

    2. My car is old and it squeaks when I turn the wheels, is it embarrassing to be picked up and driven around in this sort of vehicle?

    3. It would seem to me that truely listening to her and responding is probably the most important part of the date. Is that true?

    4. If she insist on splitting the bill, is it okay to let her?

    5. I know kissing on the first date is most often a no-no, so when i walk to the door, how should i leave it to let her know i want to see her again? A hug? A peck on the cheeck?

    6. How does mini golf and fro-yo sound for originality, fun, and ability to have conversation?

We are 20 and 21 years old, and this will be my first official "first date" ever. We don't know each other well; we've only met briefly once or twice. She baby sits my boss' kids and it's my boss who is wanting to set us up.

  • Question about op amps for guitar effects?

First of all, i am wanting to use an non inverting op amp to make a booster pedal, but my question is this: can i use an op amp alone, or do i need to add other pieces to the circuit (i.e. RC filters or extra resistors)?

  • Adding AC signals that are out of phase.?

I'm trying to do a unique configuration with my guitar pedals. Im splitting the mono signal (with a passive "Y" adapter), and then combining the legs later in the signal chain.

Here is my concern. Each of the legs will be going through different amounts of equipment. One will be all real power equipment, the other leg will have one piece of digital equipment (specifically a looper), and all real power from there.

I'm expecting between 1ms and 4ms of latency through the looper dsp and my question is how will these signals interact upon combining. Will I have any phase cancellation isssues or comb filtering?

If so, how can I correct the phase to match them again? Someone recommended using an inductor on the leg with latency and a capacitor on the other leg. Someone else recomended doing an A/D -->D/A conversion as sort of a digital buffer on the faster leg to add latency. Would either of these options work?

I am aware of the need for impedeance matching, there is no need to explain that, I am aware that the capacitor/inductor solution will need to use elements with values that will still allow the full 20-20k Hz to pass through the circuit. All that is taken care of. I am purely interested in the effects the different phases will create.

I'm using a summing amplifier to combine the signals.

I really appreciate taking your time to helping me out.

  • Athiests, why do you ask questions attacking Christianity when you yourself have not formed a factual opinion?

If you're going to question Christianity and Christian beliefs, it would help your arguments if you were actually informed about what you are trying to start an argument about. So why not do your homework before challenging?

Just to be clear, I'm not asking in an attacking way, I really am curious as to why you would go forward without all the facts.

Why not study the original Greek and Hebrew works of the original manuscripts before asking why we believe what we believe based on one mistranslated verse from one version of the bible?

  • What is the difference between following and conforming?

I'm looking for a deep philosophical answer. Lol.

The best I can come up with is that conforming is when you permanently adjust your life around something (say the speed limit is changed form 45 to 35, you conform to the new), and following is a temporary adjustment when someone asks you to do something (like if someone literally says come follow me).
