  • Have you/would you buy a house that smells like smoke?

Seriously considering purchasing this house, but concerned b/c the owners smoked. Will rip out carpet, paint walls and ceiling, and clean, but will the smell be in the cabinets/fixtures/duct work/etc? I'm sensitive to cigarette smoke, and we have 2 small children. Other than this, the house is perfect for us. Is it worth it? Can it be "good as new" or is it a lost cause? I've been researching, but would like personal stories and opinions please!!! Thank you!!!

  • What movie has a blonde sister who pretends to be a vegetarian & humanitarian to get a guy?

At the engagement party, the other sister has a slide show that shows her true colors - eating BBQ, flirting with guys, etc. It's driving me crazy! If you know it, please answer! Thanks :)

  • What makes bone marrow match?

My friends and I are getting tested to see if we are possible matches for a leukemia patient we know. Can't seem to find good information about why it's so hard to find a perfect match -so much more than blood type! If you have any information about this, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks :)

  • Is this a good time to buy real estate in the Tampa, Florida area?

I know prices have skyrocketed in the last 3 years, but it seems the market has flattened out. What do you think?

  • How do I keep from hating men after I was cheated on by my husband?

We were together 10 years. He was sneaking around with a scantily-clad 20 year old. (He's 33). I'm trying so hard to be able to trust someone again, but it has tainted my view of men in general. It was almost 2 years ago, but I'm afraid I'll always have issues about this. Any suggestions? BTW I'm definitely not a lesbian or even bi, so don't bother suggesting that. Sigh. Sometimes wish I were :)

  • My soon-to-be-ex is dragging his feet on our mutually agreed-upon divorce. Should I file alone?

He said he'd refinance over 2 months ago, in the presence of a lawyer, and we agreed to file uncontested together. We get along, but this has been dragging on for almost 2 years. In the meantime, he's living in our condo and I'm getting fed up! I hate to be mean, but it's ridiculous! I know it's more expensive, but I can't stand to hear more promises from him.....any suggestions? PS Don't bother commenting on reconciliation. He cheated on me with a girl who wasn't old enough to legally drink....I think I'm too nice already for allowing him to stay in the condo.

  • How do you break up with someone you love?

I was married for 7 years to the man of my dreams, who cheated on me. I have been dating someone for a year and a half, and really trust him. I love him, but want to date around before "settling" because I really don't know if he's the person I want to spend my life with....I'm such a talker and he's just not. We want the same things in life, and have fun, but I'm just not sure..... I'd like to think if we're meant to be, it will work out, but I don't believe in fairy tales anymore. I lived in one and it messed up. (call me jaded) Anyone have any experience with this or advice? Any suggestions? I want to be truly happy, and he deserves to be loved completely, too......

  • Would you call DCFS on this case?

Student in my class -mentally handicapped, great kid in 8th grade, and have known him for 2 years now. Attends school regularly, clean and with appropriate clothes until a few weeks ago. Now he doesn't have dinner, clean clothes or showers. Found out they are homeless again -they've gone from motel to motel, and mom refuses a shelter b/c of the rules. Big sister is pregnant (17) and not in school. Brother works to help with rent. Mom expecting a check at end of the month. Child says they are smoking pot, and he leaves because HE knows it's wrong. Ok, seems clear-cut neglect, right? I hesitate to call b/c I know they are a close family and this is the life he's known. Not sure he'd be happy without them, or understand why he couldn't be with them. Also, we take care of him during the 7 hours we see him shower at school, clothes, food, etc. I doubt he'd still be at our school if DCFS was involved..I hate the thought of him in foster care....but is that better? Do we wait and see?????

  • What would you do in this situation?

Husband (sounds weird at this point) and I have been separated for well over a year, after he cheated on me. Things had been shaky, with disagreements over the future, so I actually understood about that and have since almost really forgiven him. I don't miss him as a husband, but I miss my friend. We were best friends for seven years, three of them married. (Add four years at the end that weren't so great....) He was depressed when we started having trouble, but refused help from me or a doctor. We've barely talked in two months, and I called to say I'd gotten a lawyer & invited him to come with me so it could be done together. He said he'd just gotten medical help for depression two weeks ago and asked for some time before we complete this..... My heart aches b/c I still care about him as a friend, but when is enough enough???? I don't trust him since the betrayal....and I've been MORE than fair throughout this......What would you do?

  • Do I need a lawyer?????

Who can help me with legal paperwork for the divorce? I want financial information, so filling out long forms, but we are doing this amicably and just need mediation/ help with legalities of separating assets. No kids involved. We have been separated for well over a year and this is just taking too long. He cheated on me btw so don't even go there with moral highgrounds about divorce! Plus, HE's staying in the condo which may take forever to sell. Any advice would be appreciated!!!! Thanks!!!!!
