  • Getting a VAT refund?

Has anyone had any luck getting their VAT refund when traveling in the UK? At times merchants will tell you that their product will be tax free when you claim it back at the airport. However, it seems like a complicated process. Just checking to see if anyone has done it and the process of doing it.

    Thanks.

Obviously, I did not get tickets to the actual opening ceremonies but would love to watch it on a giant big screen with other tourists, and fans. Let me know if you for sure know of different places to check out the ceremonies.

  • How to reach a customer service rep. in Dealfind Canada?

Don't know if anyone else is having problems. I am having problems reaching a business to redeem my voucher. The business is closed. Right now I am trying to get a hold of dealfind to get a refund. When you call their 1800 number they will direct you to the contact page website and a rep will reply back in 4-5 business days. It has surpass the 4-5 business days and I still haven't heard back from them. I would LOVE to talk to a rep via phone to see what is going on but you won't be able to reach anyone anymore.

Has anyone gotten any luck and is able to reach a customer rep recently? Can you possible pass on a number to reach a rep?

    Thanks,

  • Is $580 too much for a car tune up?

I been trying to get quotes on a tune up for a Ford Focus SES. 2 companies have quoted almost $500+ for a tune up. Is that reasonable? How often does one need a tune up in their car? The last time I had a tune up was August 2010 and I remembered paying only half the price so was shocked to hear the $580 quote. Please let me know.

  • Letters of references?

I am in need of a change of environment in my career. However, I really do not want my current employer to know that I will be applying elsewhere just incase I do not get the position. However...the problem is many jobs request a letter of reference from your direct supervisor. Therefore, how does one secretly apply for a new job without letting their employer know that they are ready for a change? Especially since the potential employer will be calling in for a reference?

Hopefully this makes sense. Would love some feedback on what other people have done.

  • Computer/internet memory question?

There are times you type in numbers like your credit card, etc on the computer at a particular website.  Then the next time you are on the website...the computer remembers the numbers you typed to make it easier the next time you log on...How do you delete that so the computer doesn't remember anymore? I feel uncomfortable when I do online banking and my computer automatically remembers my bank card number. I want to physically type it everytime for safety reasons.

    Thanks for you help.

  • How long does it take for someone to give an estimate on repairs in a home?

A couple of weeks ago, there was a pipe burst in my condo and I now have water damages all over the ceiling. My condo management company told me they are currently waiting on an estimator to give them a quote on how much it will costs to fix the damages. The estimator came last Thursday so it has almost been a week.

I was wondering how long does it take for someone to give an estimate on how much it costs to do some repairs in a home?

Also, how would one repair water damage to a ceiling? (I have the white popcorn style ceiling) Does it need to be replaced or painted?

    Thanks.

  • Does Calgary still have a flower market?

About 5 years ago there use to be a flower market located in a warehouse by Macleod Trail S on 36 Ave by the Heninger Toyota. It was open around 7:30am till they run out of flowers. I remembered they would sell those flowers for really cheap.

Does anybody know if it's still there or have moved to a different location? I just need to know where it might be now and the hours.

    Thanks

  • Tour companies for Peru?

I am researching different tour groups that offer a great deals to Peru. I have already looked into Gap Adventures and On the Go travel. I would love to figure out what is their competition. I know in google there are so many other companies but I want to make sure it's not a senior tour.

Has anyone used a different tour company and they are in the ages or 25-40? Love to hear some recommendations of tour companies. Thanks.

  • It's not called an Igloo...it's called a ?

    Hello,

Back in Grade 4, our class went on a fieldtrip and created something cool. It was not an igloo but it was made of purely snow. The goal was to stack and shovel tons of snow to make a mini hill. Then a team begins to dig a opening in the middle. It's suppose to be great for winter hikes if you have to camp outside in the winter. I was also told if you light one candle inside you can stay warm for the whole night.

The problem is...I cannot remember the name of it. I know it's NOT called an igloo very similar to a tent but made of purely snow and only one person can really sleep in it.

Does anyone know the name of it?
