Can anyone tell me what this is?

I have one on my wrist too. I've had flea bites and mosquito bites in the past and they look nothing like this. It looks and feels pruney, but doesn't burn or itch at all. I have one on my wrist too. Could this be an allergic reaction? If so, to what most likely?

  • Would it be illegal to charge someone for tutoring?

I have no qualifications to tutor people. I recently finished high school (I'm South African, I got my results the 8th of January). My language marks were quite high and my dad told me about this kid in high school who was struggling with his languages and I offered to tutor him. Although I'm not familiar with the curriculum, I have enough knowledge to at least help him better understand the work. I don't officially work and I don't represent the educational department or any school. This worries me, because I am uncertain if it would be considered illegal to be someone's part time tutor and being paid to do so. If it is illegal, I wouldn't mind doing it for free. I want to study to become a language teacher anyway and to me this is good practise. But it wouldn't hurt to get a bit of money out of it to put towards my studies.

  • Are there any supplements I can take to feel less tired?

It doesn't matter if I sleep 3 hours or 12 hours, I always end up feeling tired. People have told me it's because I don't get enough sun, but I'm extremely pale and even 10mins of sunlight burns me to a crisp. Seeing as sleep doesn't really work for me, I was wondering if there were any supplements or vitamins I could use to be less tired during the day.

  • My scabs won't heal?

I've had this problem for years now. Most of my scabs last months and easily scar even when it's a minor cut (like just tearing the skin with no bleeding whatsoever). Could it be due to a deficiency?

  • Should I go to the doctor again?

He diagnosed me with bronchitis yesterday and I went straight on antibiotics, but today I feel worse. I can't breathe, my lung really hurts, my fever is up. I'm warm and cold at the same time. Should I go back?

  • Am I contagious if I'm on antibiotics?

I have bronchitis and I'm on a 3 day course of antibiotics that starts today. Will I be able to go to school without making anyone else sick or do I need to finish the course before I won't affect anyone else?

  • Movement in people with paralysis?

Okay, this sounds completely freaky, but hear me out. My grandmother has been in a wheelchair for a little over a year. Her spine just gave in and doctors could never determine why. (She's paralysed from the waist down). Today she showed me something that blew my mind. For the first time in a year, she moved her toes. I couldn't believe my eyes. I don't believe in miracles, but I have no logical explanation for this. Is this even possible? Is she really paralysed? Will she ever walk again?

  • I want to get my very first tattoo?

So I want to get a tattoo on my ankle and my wrist. But I'm kinda scared, because I've heard stories about how painful it is. What can you compare the pain to? I want to get a better idea of what it might feel like.

  • Meat makes me sick?

I'm not a vegetarian, but meat makes me really sick sometimes. I can't eat a small piece of steak without feeling like I want to throw up and chicken makes me really sick to my stomach. I really really really love meat, but struggle to keep it down. I've tried everything from eating it more frequently to staying away from it for a week but always get the same results. What's happening?

  • Hypertension?

I'm 18, in my last year of school. When I was 17 I went to donate blood at my school (the organisation comes to our school every few months). I've never donated blood before so I decided to try it out. They weighed me, tested my iron, everything was fine. Then they took my blood pressure and I had 190 over 101. The nurses were in a frenzy and called an ambulance. I also had to go for regular checkups at the doctor and was basically watched and monitored every chance every medical professional got. I'm always stressed about school, but I never thought it would get THIS bad. My mother has high blood pressure, but it's due to the fact that she eats a lot of salt (she's the kind of person that eats salt from the shaker) so it's not heditary. I doubt stress on its own could bring my BP up this high so I can only assume there's some underlining medical issue. I'm also prone to stomach ulcers and kidney problems (but not kidney failure per say) but it comes and goes. Today my health is fine, but in a matter of days with no apperant reason my BP shoots up and I'm under watch again. What's going on?

  • Can I eat mature cheeses?

I'm severely allergic to penicillin and some people have told me I can't have stuff like blue cheese. Others tell me it's safe, but I don't want to take that chance. Is there someone who is allergic to penicillin that can confirm that it is indeed safe? I've missed out on eating so many different kinds of food because of this.

  • I'm concerned about my brother?

My brother is turning 11 soon. He eats a whole bag of chips a day, only eats processed meats such as burger patties and nuggets and also only bacon. He sits at the PC for hours and doesn't do any physical activity. He refuses to eat normal foods like pasta, chicken, vegetables and any other healthy foods. Everything he eats is either fried or processed and my mum can't see the harm in it. He's severely overweight for his age and my biggest fear is that he'll one day grow up and have longterm health issues. He knows our mother let's him get away with his eating habits, so he refuses to change them. I've voiced my concerns to my mother, but my pleas fall on deaf ears. I'm seriously concerned, what else can I do...
