Can you buy Zumba DVD's in retail stores in Canada (Ottawa?) like Chapters or something?
I don't want to order online, the shipping prices are horrible, they cost almost as much as the DVD set. The only Zumba thing that came up when I searched Chapters' website was this book, that has a little DVD with it, which I bought, and the DVD is good for beginners but I've been doing this a little while and really want that DVD set at home.I'm talking about the box set, even comes with those little exercise 'sticks' or whatever. Can you get it in any retail store, or does it HAVE to be bought online?
7 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoWouldn't a meatloaf pan with the drain holes drain out all the grease but then cause it to smoke in your oven?
I've always been bugged by the idea that you have to drain out all the fat while making meatloaf so that it doesn't get absorbed into the loaf. Now I've heard of these meatloaf pans that are two pieces - one part that has drain holes which allows the fat to drip down into the lower pan. My question is - wouldn't that grease then start to smoke something fierce in your oven?
I have a propane stove, too. Hoping to get some answers from people who know and love these pans - seems like a great idea! Just kind of skeptical! (I also have not been able to bring myself to trust silicone bake ware.. but that's another question for another day I guess).
10 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhat is wrong with my Dog?? She eats diapers, garbage and dead rodents instead of the premium food I buy her!?
One day my dog brought a diaper home, we couldn't figure out where she got it. We dumped it and scolded her, but shes brought a couple more since then. My aunt lives to the north of my mom's house just through the woods. I was at my aunt's last night and she said shes always chasing my dog away from her garbage cans (she has babies/diapers).
My dog has been on a steady diet of Canidae wet and dry dog food since she was a small pup, but we have recently started feeding Fromm too - she was getting bored of just Candiae. She eats 1.5 cans a day, with kibble. Canidae costs me $1.99 a can, and Fromm costs me $2.99 a can, but its healthy (I lost my best dog to Iams during the food recall).
She also brings home dead mice & birds. What can I do to make her stop with the garbage and rodents? She brought EIGHT diapers home last night and made a mess of my yard. She would rather eat garbage then her food, and my mom has now banned her from her house because she brought home a mouse. HELP!!!
4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoDisco Dance Ideas?
Our family organizes a big disco dance in memory of my late uncle every April. We are planning for this years dance and are wondering if there are any exciting/disco themed decorating ideas out there that we're missing? I'd love to get one of those light-up dance floors like from Saturday Night Fever but no idea where to rent one - I found one site that would sell me one, for like $2500 for a 4x4 square... no thanks!
I live in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, so sending me to a party shop somewhere in California isn't going to help. I'm looking for online resources and any other tips and tricks we can use to decorate or plan our dance. Thank you!
1 AnswerOther - Entertainment1 decade agoMy sister's four year old dog keeps attacking my ten month old puppy when she never did before - no idea why!
My sister has a dog who's about four years old now, a husky/lab mix. I rescued a mixed breed puppy in July.
The husky/lab mix was getting along fine with our puppy whenever they played outside until my puppy was about six months old. My sister noted that her dog would unexpectedly attack my puppy for seemingly no reason, or be very aggressive towards her. Since then, it has gotten worse. My mother, sister and I all live up the same rural driveway, and our dogs roam freely between our three yards. The husky/lab mix has been our 'guard dog' as of late and things were fine until she started being really aggressive with my puppy, especially when my sister got a little beagle mix pup, which my dog loves to play with. The older dog will now stay at my house and chase my dog away when I call her to come home. We get mad at the older dog, but she still attacks her and chases her away, or the dog will chase her off the properties and not allow her to come home or to any of our yards - help!
6 AnswersDogs1 decade agoLong haired toy chihuahua owners - how often do you bathe your puppy?
My mom bathes her long haired toy chihuahua all the time, and recently the receptionist at the vet told her she should be getting a bath a maximum of once a month. Mom doesn't think this is right and bathes her once a day or once every two days so that the dog will smell nice and not 'like a dog'. (This is her first indoor pet and she's absolutely in love with her). However, she does use Johnson's baby shampoo and not a pet shampoo to bathe her, figuring that it's gentle enough for newborn humans so the dog should not suffer any ill effects?
She wants to hear thoughts from other long haired toy chihuahua owners, if possible. Thank you.
10 AnswersDogs1 decade agoThree month old Puppy is 99% 'paper trained' - but only for peeing! We can't get her to poop on the paper!
My mom's long haired toy chihuahua goes to pee on her paper or puppy training pad pretty much every time she's got to pee, but she never goes to it to poop. She poops in other spots all throughout the house instead. We got a suggestion to pick up her poop and leave it on the paper for the scent but that didn't work, she just continued to pee on the paper but poop elsewhere in the house whenever she gets a chance.
Can anyone provide any suggestions with how to get her to poop on her 'bathroom' spot as regularly as she pees there?
4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoI'm looking for zip up duck shoes/boots for my dad and cannot find them anywhere, even online!?
Okay - so I found them online - on eBay as a matter of fact, but they are ONE SIZE SMALLER then what I need (cringe!)
I'm not sure if i'm allowed this, but these are what they look like anyway: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=...
I've tried several different web searches for shoes like this. What happened was my mom bought my dad a pair of boots just like that on our shopping trip to Maine two years ago. We have yet to find another pair (he wears a size ten) and has worn these shoes EVERY DAY (quite literally) for the past two years, in all weather and in all situations. Needless to say, they're quite worn and we are really struggling to find a pair of Men's zip up duckie style boots. Please let me know if you know of where I can get them! Thanks.
5 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoDo I need primer to paint over an old deck? There's an old old flaky coat of marine paint on it now.?
My mom calls it marine paint, she says its like an oil? Anyway, the deck was painted AGES ago and it's huge, it goes around three sides of our house. There has been an extension added to the front part that has newer, un-painted wood, but mom wants to paint the whole step and she does not want to sit there and flake and scrape off all the bits. She wants to know if she'll need primer or if she can just paint or?? We tried pressure-washing it off but it didn't work that great.
7 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoWhat's the easiest way to remove fat from broth/drippings?
My mom wants to know how to remove fat from broth or drippings? You know like when you read a recipe and it says, remove fat from drippings or whatever? She wants to know if anyone has any quick, easy and/or unique ways to remove fat from broth. I apologize if we're not using the correct terminology. Maybe I mean to say remove the fat from the drippings, or remove from broth, or??? I think you should get the idea though. Thanks!
11 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoStuck on another calculus question!?
Okay, i'm doing a calculus question that has to do with someone driving a four hour drive regularly, and if s(t) represents her distance (in miles) from home t hours into the trip, the s(t) is given by s(t) = -5t^3+30t^2
We have already figured out parts A & B, how far from home she was after 1 hours, and how far apart the two cities are.
Part C is this:
How fast is she driving 1 hour into the trip? 1.5 hours into the trip?
The book gives me the solution, but I don't get it. It tells me to go through the four steps of finding a derivative, and that the answer is s'(t) = -15t^2 + 60t
My problem is, I don't know how they came up with that. I know in the steps I've done before my first step had to be to replace x with x+h (in the rule of f(x)).
What's x in this question? Is it the t? or the s? and then, I'm supposed to say to let f(x) = something
What's the f(x) = something??
Sorry if this question is long, I'm trying to include as much detail as possible.
3 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoHelp! Im stuck with a math question!!?
Its a tiny part of a calculus question. It seems like a math rule, but if it is, I don't know it.
The solution says to turn:
(x+h)^3
into (x^3+3x^2h+3xh^2+h^3).
I dont get the 3x^2h and 3xh^2? The x^3 and the h^3 make perfect sense, but how the heck do you come up with 3x^2h and 3xh^2??
5 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoMy dog won't pee outside anymore! And he REALLY needs to go!?
My dog was recently in a big fight with stray dogs while we went away (my parents were home). Long story short, an $1100 vet bill later, he's confined to the house for the next couple of weeks, vet's orders. He's been an outdoor dog for about a year or so now (he'll be 2 next month), so we haven't had a dog inside for a while. The vet said he held his pee for 2 days while he was in the animal hospital, and for the 5 days he was there, he didn't poop until the last day. He was holding his pee when he got home for a while, even though we took him out - finally did it in the house. We scolded him, and he doesnt do it anymore unless he has no choice. Anyway, the past day or so, he hasn't peed or pooped when we take him out, and we take him out over 10 times a day. He can't stay outside alone because of the stitches/open sores, and there are flies/stray dogs around. He needs to pee so bad he's leaking small puddles when he sits down/gets up, and he whines to go out, but doesn't pee!!
