  • Are SL seniors doing the right thing?

Everyone in SL fed up with the way SL players are playing right now and put the blame directly on young SL players as they haven't contributed for SL's success apart from 2 fifties from Thirimanna and Mathews since CT.

I too was worried about SL young players.

But looking at the big picture i realized that our seniors need to take some actions in order to give youngsters some confident.

If you take teams like India,Pakisthan, all their young players play at the top and players like MSD,Misbah comes at the end and absorb pressure if there is any or finish the game.Players like Mahela is adaptable to those situations. Playing as a opener(specially when whole middle and lower middle order filled with youngsters) doesn't make any sense.

So i think if SL can resolve out the opening position (by bring in specialist batter like Kusal to open and leave out Jeewan) Mahela should bat at no 6 after Mathews before Thiri. And Sanga at no 4,after Chandimal at no3.Its true that your best player should bat at no 3.But looking at future and given the experience that Sanga poses SL still can player our best batter Sanga in no 4.

Remember before every tournament SL's bowling get all the analysis from reviewers and say its too weak. But if you take history it's SL's batting that led down SL more occasions(Well may be not against India, ;)

    What you think?

  • Is it true that Dinesh Chandimal refused the IPL contract?

If it's true, what is the reason?Less money?TamilNadu controversy?Or his commitment to the national team?

  • Thundering Blunders in DRS?

Yesterday it was Pak vs SA but i think due to poor batting display by Paki batter it all went down.

But today again Aus vs WI match,Thomas was given out without any conclusive evidance.

Thats the worst DR i've ever seen. Some people can say it's just luck for Aussies.Even the usually biased Aussie commentators didn't have any answer for that.

I am asking this from Aus users here,Is winning hook or crook make you happy, coz for me it's not.

I have a self conscious and it'll be always in my mind that we don't deserve this victory,

Im not just talking about just this match. But if that wicket didn't happen Aus won't have get any momentum. Still lot to go in this match.

However BCCI's stand against DRS might get more supporters after this,

And guess who is the TV umpire ,Asad Rauf (Pakistan).Yesterday they were all over crying and whining about all the DRS blunders in Paki vs SA.lol

  • How do you feel when Tony Greig's death?

How do you feel when Tony Greig's death used as a anti-smoking advert by NGOs who merely work as money making organizations?

For me i really feel sad.

It's true that he got lung cancer may be from smoking. But he died coz of cardiac arrest.

Using his death as a advert make me really uncomfortable ,what would it make in the mind of the future generation who never saw him?

I'd like them to see a brilliant cricketer /amazing commentator above all great human being. Not as a wasted white smoker.

  • Will this be a major set back for Australia?

They are facing huge challenge with injured fast bowlers and now their work horse accused of tampering the ball.

Sri Lankan media unit all set to make a complaint to Chris Board who usually doesn't have a kind spot for Asians particularly.

What do you think of this issue? Now that Sanga is gone Australians must be sniffing a victory.

  • India decide to vote against Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Commission?

I know this is the cricket section but this is the place most of the Indians and Sri Lankans get together.

And 'most' of them are sensible users!

I know SL and India has their differences and it is clear that we hate each others in most occasions than not ,especially in regarding cricket.

But this move has taken this situation in to a new level.SL public disguise with India's decision and it worth while noting SL is one of the biggest importers of India.I know this is due to political pressure from TamilNadu and it may cost whole India in some other way.

So what's your reaction at this matter,as a Indian,as a Sri Lankan and as a neutral viewer?

Once again i'm sorry i post this Q under cricket section!

  • SL decide to keep players away from IPL?

SLC and sports minister decided that all the cricketers who participate in England tour should be back on island for practice sessions regardless of private tours or county or IPL.England tour start off on 28th of May and practice session should start 2 weeks before it,which will be the half way of IPL.Sport minister of SL said players should give priority to representing the country.

If this happen(ofcouse anything can happen,if higher order come as let them play in "INDIAN" premier league..:p)it will be a huge blow for franchises like Kochi,Deccan,Mumbai and RCB,losing players like Sanga,Mahela,Dili and Maliga.

So how do you think this will affect IPL and your own country?

  • We are strong as one!!!!?

First of all congrat India for achieving the pinnacle of world cricket fair and square. They deserve the win and all sri lankans appreciate it without a doubt.

However as a sri lankan i felt very sad about losing the match after putting that much of score on the board. But i'm proud of my nation and my players for becoming the second best in the world. For a small country with just over 20 millions of population this is a great achievement. So hope all our Sri lankans be with our players and will get together at BIA to congratulate our players.

    BQ-So what's your next aim?Indians?Sri Lankans?Pakis?Australians?

For me as a Sri Lankan, main concentration would be building our middle order and pace bowling with fielding.SL should prepare players like Chandimal,Thirimanna,Rajapaksha and Sachithra for upcoming England tour and try to win it.Nuwan Pradeep and Shamindra should get a chance in preparation for next years T20 WC.Beside that i want Mahela to lead Kochi team to title in IPL with the likes of Murali and Perera. And hope Sanga who most probably lead DC all so do well. What's your plans?

  • Will Sri Lanka relax again?

All recent matches Sri Lanka played, they went on to play finales including 07 WC,T20 WC and most recently Asia cup.But they failed to won any of these matches. So what do you think will Sri Lanka repeate or what? And Dhoni said "Sentence is not finished until you put a pull stop"-so don't you think that something Sanga and crew should remember?

  • Do you believe in astrology?

    Any predictions by Indian astrologers?

Here in Sri Lanka they said Shewag will score runs but Sachin will fall early for Mahela,by a catch or a runout. And another said SL should be aggressive and Randiv should play.

And last one said it will lead to bad crowd reaction at the end, isn't that something bad smelling for India :p

So any predictions by your Astrologers?

  • Who's better spinner?

    Ashwin or Randiv?

Both are promising talents for each country. And i think they both will play tommarow. So who is better in your opinion?

  • SL in finales...but.....?

SL now in finales but today's match raised the question of capability of Sri Lanka's middle order!

In one way it's good to see this failure in semis rather than in finales. And it will help top order to finish the job than leaving it to tail.Dilshan well recognized his roll and trying to face all 50 overs.I think Samaraweera justified his inclusion in the team.Sangakkara spoke well during presentation and thanked for crowd support. And also made a good point that we won nothing so far, only just qualify for finales. And lot to do in finales.Murali got a good send off from Sri Lanka and fielding back on track now.Hope SL solve their middle order problem and win the WC.

So fellow Sri Lankans, who do you want in finales,Pakistan or India? For me Pakistan.

SL vs Pakistan match india would give crowd support for Sri Lanka and i feel even though we lost to Pakistan in groups,we got the upper hand over Pakistan.Who's yours?

  • What you think about Russel's "Pull out" Delivery?

Commentators were cursing at him reminding the so called spirit of the game. How ever in my point of view,it was clever by Russel to do something new. After all it's batsman's game and they owned the game by playing switch hits and so on.For example, nowadays batman pretend to be going backward by stepping a step back and try to fool the bowler. So why not bowler do something like that?I think Russel gave something to pacer to be happy about. If bowlers like Tait,Gul and Malinga try to use it,they might be handful.

Spinners also have this kind of chance while bowling to have a little bit of pause before releasing the ball.So why not pacers? What's your idea abt this?is that a harm to "Spirit of the game" or what?

  • Indian Fans,Are you happy?

Indian Fans,Are you happy about Indian batting performances so far in the tournament?

I mean they have the best batting department of the tournament with the likes of Sachin,Shewag and later of the innings by Pathan.Still they struggled against Ireland losing 5 wickets for 200 runs, and that too in 46th over.

And again today they are struggling in the chase losing 5 wkts for 139 runs against world's 12th ranked team on a good batting pitch.Indian bowling also not upto task apart from part timers like Yusuf and Yuvi.So is this made any harm to your world cup dreams or it's just not the peak time for india?

  • Why they want the chucker Murali?

    http://www.dailymirror.lk/sports/cricket/9642-mura...

    http://adaderana.lk/news.php?nid=11808

Australian cricket board has invited Murali to coach their young spinners and Aussie media gave it a huge publicity. What you think,i think Murali should remember what happen early in his career.Sure Murali is a great gentleman,he doesn;t care about past. But i think he got more responsibility of coaching SL youngsters than Aussie youngsters.Heard Murali and Kumble try to begin a spin school in India, fair enough. But i'm against Murali to be the coach of Australia. What's your idea?

  • Congratz SL and WI!!!!!!!!!?

SL did well to win the ERI cup 2-0 and it was a good win just before a WC!

Having lost Murali,Mali and Nuwan it's impressive to see Mendis,Thisara and Dilhara back on form!

And Windies done more than good having lost two early wickets including Gayle.(it was 0-2 at 2nd ovr).

Darren Bravo is a great prospective and mark my word he'll be the next Windi Captain.Great career ahead of him!Would you like to congrat them?

  • SL's allrounding problem?

Actually too many of good all-rounders now become a problem for Sri Lanka.Having two fast bowling all-rounder who are doing very well each with bat(Mathews) and ball(Thisara),SL face a tough challenge of choosing the playing X1.

Including 6 specialist batters (Dilshan,Upul,Mahela,Sanga,Kapu/Silva,Samaraweera ) along with Mathews and Thisara will force to have only 3 specialist bowlers. So who would be the '3'?

Depend on the track whether it's pacy or not,you can select 2 pacers and a spinner or 1 pacer and 2 spinners.

But i feel that it'll shake the balance of the team, and gives only option,to leave out one of the all-rounders!!!Do you agree on this?Playing two allrounders? If not who would be your choice,Mathews or Thisara?
