Why do some people deny the economic crisis? How would you respond to them?
Suppose you are at work or at home and you saw this e-mail from 2007 or 2008:
I admit we have lost a lot of money and opportunities. But do I believe the economy is collapsing? No way!
2 AnswersEconomics1 decade agoDoes it make sense to you to desire peace but continue war honors?
As if when you draw focus towards war, you attract more of it, not less. These are just some of the many ways in which fighting gets the attention in America:
First, I am posting this question on Veterans Day. (To me, this is like having an Iraq Day or Anti-Terrorism Day. What's next, a Bush Day?) Church members pray for veterans and politicians. Museums may include World War exhibits. Towns may display some model cannons, reenact the Civil War, and perhaps even hold an annual 9/11 memorial (at least until now). In fact, 9/11 was shown over and over on television. What is more is that many claim that oil is to blame, yet many continue to drive gasoline-powered cars and fall for gas discounts. (For example my parents do. The prices have come down in my area.)
1 AnswerOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoDoes it make sense to you that just as Christ was spiritual, so the antichrist will be materially based?
For example, though Christ died to save us, and told people to separate from the world and be good,
the antichrist would do the opposite and teach people to love themselves and their own bodies and lives. You might want to check out my "source" articles.

8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf we have free will, why don't we all qualify for every career?
Free will to me sounds like a restaurant buffet or a shopping mall (stores or food court). All choices would be equally accessible. But there are jobs we might select (be interested in) but not be accepted for, because not all of us are strong and quick. And what about children born with learning disabilities?
12 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoCould a renewable resource be used as a money standard?
People have already tried gold or silver, and now the fiat. Example resources are oxygen, sunlight, water, and the 24-hour day (time). e.g.: Total "H2o" cash or coins = the water that covers more than 70 percent of the earth. Currency such as this would be a reminder that oil addiction is overdue to end and the environment is important. There are resources that everyone has easy access to, even in poor areas. More than one could be chosen. Would the dollar still be used?
See "Time-based currency" below:
6 AnswersEconomics1 decade agoWhich meat do you recommend? Buffalo wings are too spicy for me.?
A grill restaurant near me serves hamburgers with your choice of beef or bison. Some people told me they taste the same. Others think bison is better.
4 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoHave you ever accidentally driven on the wrong lane at a toll booth?
This question is for those of you who carry cash or coins** but either: You do not have an electronic tag on your car**. Or the lane is closed (broken machine or no worker).
**What if it had been vice-versa? You have the tag but not the money on a no-tag or broken-reader lane.
1 AnswerOther - Cars & Transportation1 decade agoWhy do computer printers jam just when you need something and others are waiting?
Also sometimes the Web freezes when you think the page shouldn't take so long to print. And for those of you on toll roads or near beltway/highway entrances & exits, jamming happens there too, when it shouldn't take so long.
9 AnswersJokes & Riddles1 decade agoDo you feel your school or college exams ask trivial questions? Should they?

Do people like answering trivial questions over important stuff?
Why do people give so much importance to trivial things and ignore those that are of real importance?
People do not like to feel overwhelmed, and not all answers actually solve real-world problems or teach us how to live, love, and care.
2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoIn light of the 2002 sniper attacks and now the Virginia Tech shootings, should gun control be more strict?
A movie theater near me actually has a "no weapons" sign, as if everyone brings one. Gun control may sound good, but is it enough? For example, if guns were banned, angry or violent people might resort to strangling, punching, or kicking their victims.--That was one reason I was against knife bans on airplanes.--How would gun supporters react? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beltway_sniper_attack...

19 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoWhat is a polite way to check whether your partner has HIV/AIDS?
I am not the one dating, but I know someone else who might benefit from this. Names and details have been withheld.
8 AnswersInfectious Diseases1 decade agoWhat would this dream mean if you had it? What is your prize? And what do you do next?
You have a numbered ticket. Since this is a dream, the prize can be anything you want. The host is holding a sealed envelope with the winning number. (S)He calls your phone and asks you to state your ticket number. Then (s)he will open the envelope. So you begin searching... Yet you can't find your ticket !!! The host is still waiting for your response. What would you do? **Spoiler: You have the winning ticket.** To me, this dream means I don't like my job, but it's hard to find another way to earn money, and my parents won't let me try.
2 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWe are told we do not use our brains' full capacity. Would you want an artificial?
I do not know if it's possible. This would be connected to your brain, not replace it. And no cost to you, 100% covered by your insurance.
Unseen colors would be "converted" to visible ones, and similarly with sounds. You'd see in the dark, and no longer need eyeglasses or contact lenses.
Your memory would have more "storage space", good when actors must know their lines. Quiz games on TV would be easier despite the time limits. And imagine not needing to bring a written shopping list.
You'd be more free to be creative because the device is already helping your logical and fear-based thinking. For example, it might be pre-programmed with safety rules and typical causes and effects. You could do more math without a calculator.
Your health could be monitored, including medicine reminders. The device would reduce or cancel out epileptic seizures.
You'd notice body signals sooner such as for pointing, walking closer, or avoiding danger.
13 AnswersOther - Alternative1 decade agoIs it impolite to ask your neighbor or co-worker to drive you?
I was just wondering about this alternative to riding with my parents to work. They seem to believe my asking someone else would not be fair because of different schedules and routes, and this would occur twice almost every day. This is not an emergency, though my parents would feel they have the right to ask these people anytime. I live with my parents in the suburbs, so there are no bus stops or offices within walking distance. A taxi twice every weekday would be expensive. I do not know how to drive. Are my parents right?
