My roommates are moving out of my house, so bills will be tighter but I still want TV. So I want lower my costs per month. I currently have Cable (Time Warner) and classic 70 channel TV (not Digital) is $76 per month.

I am looking into switching to Satellite when they move out, but would like an answer from people who currently have it what the exact cost ends up being per month, and I have some questions.

1) How long does the promo price go?

2) I just have one HD TV where I'd like the box receiver to be. Will my other TVs have any channels on them if I don't purchase other boxes?

3) Is it easy to get out of the Premium channel offers once they run out before you get charged for them?

4) Is the first receiver box that you get (like Hopper for Dish) free?

5) Does this hopper act as a DVR, and is that service free?

6) Will my HD TV automatically have a lot of HD channels without paying anything more?

Let's say I want the smallest package of channels (which would pretty much match up to what I have now with classic cable but have a few more channels and music channels), and I want one box (assuming the other TVs in my house will still get something without boxes), and no premium packages (like Movie channels, Blockbuster, or sports subscriptions) what will bare-bone price be per month, so I can see if it will be worth switching.

Okay so I am trying to get opinions on what my final field of drivers will be for this project. I going to use Grand Prix 2 (DOS) to simulate seasons of races (with different tracks each season) and I have some that are obvious picks but what everyone's opinion on the final spots in the field. There needs to be a total of 28 drivers and here are the ones that are clinched in my opinion:

OK, so I have only seen the first Fast & Furious movie, I am interested in seeing Fast Five and then be ready for Fast & Furious 6. It seems like the Tokyo Drift, 2 Fast 2 Furious and the 4th movie all got bad scores comparibly or seemed like some were stand alone movies and not really part of the series. Will I be lost at all from watching the first one, and then jumping to Fast Five and going from there?

I have a Windows 7 Desktop (so if the game is old it needs to be able to run on windows 7).

I need to know of a PC Formula One game, where you can just set up a race and have all the cars run in spectator mode and be able to watch the race. Preferably one where you can edit the driver's names if possibly (to have classic battles). I also would like the AI to smart enough so each race is different. I used to do this mode on an old N64 game, but the results of each race would be the same for each track which got boring.

OK, so for $800 my girlfriend is going to get drawn by an artist completely nude, for an art studio...I am not someone to tell a girl what she can and can't do so fine I mean she is a liberal girl I known her forvever and know what I was getting into when we recently started being a couple. The weird things are that she had trouble with the artist as far as being up front on how much $$$ she would get, and the guy (theirs a guy and a girl artist involved in this) keeps texting her all day asking for updated pictures, kind of creepy if you ask me. I have proposed the idea of going with her and while she seems reluctantly agreeable she kind poo poos the idea away and thinks she doesn't need me there. I am her boyfriend, don;t you think it'd be my repsonsibility to be there to make sure everything is done in a classy manner and most importantly for her safety since the whole thing seems kind of shady.

I have a close friend who I have had alot of love, feelings, emotions for over about a 12 year span...who only recently came back into my life becuase she has always dealt with drug addiciton and now has been a year long recovery period clean from Heroin. Right now we are just friends but always with the potential for more. I was wondering where someone like me (who has never done a drug, not even marijuana in their life) can go to get help on being there for her, understand what she is going through, and how to deal with having "more than friends" feelings for her when she is dealing with recovery. Is there some kind of hotline or something?

OK, I have known this girl since I was like 15, and we 'dated' back then and then she got into drugs and we lost touch and every once in a while we would hang out a couple times and lose touch again because of her drugs problems, but I have always been there for her. I have had feelings for her, whether prevalent or on the back burner most of my life. We hadn't talked for years until recently when I looked her up on facebook and found that she lived about an hour away and started to talk to her. I found out that she has been clean for about year. She has a 'sponsor' that she calls alot, and gets meth daily to deal with cravings etc.

We are starting out as just friends right now, but she has told me she wants it to grow into more eventually and I do too.

Just looking for some advice on what to look out for from her, how to be supportive, and please more than just runnnnnn! I am willing to get hurt at this point with her to explore what we could be like if we were together so that I won't always be wondering for the rest of my life.

I bought this Zune a couple years ago, and I used for about a couple months before upgrading to a 32GB. This Zune literally has sat in it's factory box since. Yesterday I wanted to give it to someone, but it would not turn on. How could the battery die if it has not been used this whole time? Someone give me some help please. Thanks.

It really bugs me when people say "Oh I love that band/singer" yet only have like 3-5 songs by them that have had radio play. That is not being a fan of somebody, you need to buy all their albums and listen to everything by them and have a collection of songs you like after having had heard everything at least once. That said, on your MP3 player what artist do you have the most # of songs by.

It started with what I thought was Tension Headaches (felt like wearing a helmet a couple sizes to small) and this went on for a while and seemed to be helped by taking Tension Headache Excedrin, but once the medicine wore off it was back, but the one spot that had the more painful headaches was an area at the top/back right side of my head, and sometimes (not all the time) if I bent over it'd flare up, but worse if I sneezed, or especially if I strained going to the bathroom and put pressure on my head like that. All of these headaches are mild in nature, in a sense that I've never had a headache where I can't function, but sometimes like when listening to music you get annoyed enough to stop because you don't feel like it anymore because of the pain. Then I had earaches for a few days, I still pressure there every so often but now the pressure seems to be all up front mainly in my forehead, or right above my ears, around my eyes/nose. I do not have a runny nose or soar throat though, so I don't know if it's sinitis. I still have pressure/pain all around the top and back of head too just not as bad as before.

OK, so my Gateway laptop from 2006 finally gave out and I'm ready to buy a new computer and have decided I want a desktop.

My family has never had an issue with gateway so I wouldn't mind going with them again, although if you can give me any data onto why another brand is better/more reliable, let me know.

I would like to spend somewhere between $500 and $800 for whole package, maybe up to $1000

I want Intel for a Processor, the one that tops out a 3.46 GHz is probably good enough (not sure of the name, just remember seeing that many GHz alot)

I want at least 6GB of Memory, but 8GB wouldn;t be bad either

I want at least 1TB of Hard drive

Graphics don;t matter with me as far as games, I really just use a computer for internet, downloading, Music (ALOT) and Watching Videos, a little picture editing, and usually run multiple programs at one time. I do not play PC Games (just Xbox)

I have many USB devices I use, and definitely I am excited to get Windows, since I use it at work and like it, and have been using XP at home till now.

Give me some ideas, I plan to go to Best Buy, and want to be armed with info.

I have Windows XP SP3 operating system on an old laptop.

I restarted my computer after having run the memory cache clear process last night on my computer (I usually don't turn off my computer I just Stand-by it alot) so it had been restarted in a week or so.

Once I re-started everything started up like normal but then the down in the on bottom panel, it showed the icon of trying to connect to a internet connection with yellow moving icons i.e. "Acquiring Network Address" if you move your mouse over it.

Now I cannot connect to the internet.

Nothing about my network setup has changed and I can still connect ot internet via XBOX Live.

I run a NON-wireless (use cables) network, through Dynex Switch (not a router) to a Cable Modem.

Anybody have any ideas on things to try?

I ran ipconfig /all and all Ip info is 0.0.0.0 but DNS servers show up.

OK, so I bought my dad the game and when we tried to install from the disk, at 51% it stops and gives an error code saying that it cannot read a file, and that your disk may be damaged, dirty, or the disk drive might be damaged.

Looks something like "fileset.base\Mods\Core.SC2Mod\Index.SC2Locale" for the file it cannot read, but it sometimes it's different exact file with similar wording.

A) I know the disk drive is fine because the DVD/RW drive itself had been replaced a year ago and and he was just playing another game fine that needs the disk to play a day ago

B) We returned the disk to the store for another one and it still stops at 51% with another error of similar type but says it cannot read a certain fiel, the file names are always different but similar looking.

I tried to install in Safe Mode

I have made sure all hidden files are shown, and it is run as an administrator

- I tried to copy all the files from the the DVD drive folder to a folder on the desktop and it stops halfway through and says it cannot read a file to copy it.

Now I know the disk is not damaged because why would two seperate disks have the same error on the same exact part of installation????

What is going on here?

He has a Vista 32-bit OS, His specs are fine (although we plan to add memory chips if the gameplay is slower than he wants)

If anybody has words of wisdom I'd be extremely happy.

I will describe how my house network is setup in detail:

First in my roommate's bedroom we have a Time Warner Cable Modem, from the modem a cable runs to a Linksys BEFSR41 Wired router. Two cords come off the router down to the basement which is home to his Desktop Computer and Xbox 360. Back to the router...one more cord comes off and crosses through the wall to my bedroom and goes into a 5-port Switch. From the switch a cable goes to my Xbox 360 and another cable comes of the switch and passes through another wall and into my laptop. This is the entire home network and all the devices that need connection to the internet.

Now currently the settings on my Router are as followed:

MTU is set 1364 (this supposed to cutdown on the lag)

UpnP is Enabled.

Port Triggering is set to Trigger 4 different port ranges 53, 80, 88, 3074.

I have tried to Port Forward my Xbox, but then his had trouble connecting to Multiplayer for Madden 2010, this is where the trouble first reared its ugly head.

I understand the problem is with NAT being Open on only one Xbox and Strict on the other.

Is there is a way to have both Open? and If not is their a way to have mine as at least Moderate and his Open as he plays more Online Matchmaking then I do.

I understand DMZ Host might be something that needs to be enabled, but I'm not sure. Should one Xbox be Port Forwarded and the other DMZ?

Should nothing be enabled accept Upnp? What do I do?

I understand UPnP should allow 2 Xbox 360s to both have Open NAT, but I dont understand why this isn't the case. Maybe there is a Firmware for Linksys BEFSR41 that needs to be downloaded and applied to the router to allow the UPnP to function properly, and If I enable UPnP and nothing else (port forwarding, DMZ, triggering ,etc) will everything work?

Any help from a technical support person would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the situation I pay mortgage on a house, my friend/roommate pays $400 a month plus half of the utilities. He plans to have his girlfriend move in in May, they will likely be sleeping in his bedroom together like an other couple, I was thinking they both do $300 a month plus 1/3 of the utilities does this seem fair, what would you do in my situation and why?

Here's the deal: I got home from work yesterday and the remote door opener in my car wouldn't open the garage door so I figured the power must be out since it had been raining/wind all day. So I went inside and saw a clock blinking which meant it had gone out at some point. So I went to garage and sure enough the garage door opener was off you couldn't open it from the wall panel or anything so I went down to the circuit breaker box and saw that something had tripped that fuse to the garage door so I switched back on and it opened and Drove the car in, and closed it no problem, but now this morning I realize the light doesn't come on when it opens, did something during this power outage cause the light to blow? Whats going on? Thanks.
