How much would you sell 16' x 5' of large river rock for?
I have about 16' x 5' of large river rock, plus a waterfall pump, a 9' x 17' pond liner, and a waterfall spillway that I would like to sell, but I don't have any idea how much I should ask for it. I know how much the waterfall pump, and spillway, and the pond liner cost new, so I can guess how much I should ask for those. How much would you ask for the river stones? Thanks!
1 AnswerGarden & Landscape9 months agoWhat tips can you give me for forcing flower bulbs inside?
I have tried forcing flower bulbs inside for the past two years with very little luck. Most just don't grow at all. The first year, I soaked the bulbs before potting them, which is what my mother always did. She always had good results, but I didn't. So last year, I didn't soak them before potting them. Still got poor results. I am keeping them in the fridge for eight weeks. What am I doing wrong? Also any advice on how to keep squirrels from digging up bulbs planted outside would be appreciated.
1 AnswerGarden & Landscape1 year agoIs there a reason I need gutters on my mobile home?
They seem pretty pointless to me, other than over the exterior doors to keep water dripping on me when I am unlocking the door. I have noticed the new mobile homes have no gutters at all. I am getting up there in age, and find that cleaning them out twice a year is getting very difficult. I can't afford the leaf guards. Is there any reason I shouldn't just remove them?

5 AnswersYahoo Answers1 year agoWho, other than landlord tenant resources or a city building inspector, ensures rentals are not hazardous in Wisconsin?
My daughter lives in a rental house in LaCrosse County, but not LaCrosse city. During the last heavy rain, part of the ceiling collapsed. The landlord is not cooperating at all to ensure the mold that is in all the rotted wood isn't harming her health more than it already has. She has been waiting almost a week for a return phone call from Landlord Tenant Resources. Planning and zoning in LaCrosse said they only inspect new buildings, and only within the city, not the county. She hired an individual inspector and paid for the inspection herself. He said the house should be condemned. The landlord says my daughter is free to move, but will forfeit her $1000 deposit, besides which she cannot afford all the expenses that go along with moving. Surely there is someone who looks out for tenants, and keeps landlords from being slumlords? My daughter already has a terrible upper respiratory infection from this, and is getting worse. What can she do? Who should she contact? She also cannot afford to stay in a hotel until the landlord gets around to fixing this, and then suing him for reimbursement. Thanks.
4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 year agoWhat can I use to waterproof cloth Halloween decor I have made for outside?
I made some witch's tights and ruby slippers to tuck right up by my house for Halloween decor, but I don't want rain to ruin them. They are just tights stuffed with plastic, and a pair of shoes covered in glitter. I would also like to make a human shape wrapped in a spider cocoon hanging from a tree with giant spiders. What can I use to waterproof these things without discoloring them or making them sticky?
Halloween2 years agoI asked earlier if I know that c squared equals 49 inches, what are a squared and b squared, & people told me there are infinite answers but?
What if I know that a and b are the same length? Is it solveable then, or are there still lots of different answers possible?

Do I have to worry about developing pneumonia because I accidentally inhaled a blueberry this morning? Will it just break down and dissolve on its own without causing any problems?
1 AnswerRespiratory Diseases2 years agoIs the strength of flavor in food indicative of how nutritious it is?
I purchased some pears at the store. I looked for the ripest ones I could find, but they are very firm, not juicy at all, and have no flavor whatsoever. I have noticed frozen strawberries and blueberries are very bland is well. Does this mean that they were not allowed to ripen fully, and are less nutritious than they would have been if allowed to ripen fully?
4 AnswersOther - Food & Drink2 years agoIs it possible to actually block calls? I keep getting calls from blocked numbers.?
I get tons of telemarketing calls, probably like everyone does. I block them, but then I still get calls from the same number. When I hang up, the screen that shows up with the options of adding the number to contacts, etc. shows up, and gives me the option of unblocking the number. Is it actually possible to stop all those annoying calls? I have even had telemarketers call and ask for somebody else. When I say they have the wrong number, they say whoops, and start right in. I suppose that is their "legal" way of getting around the fact that I am on the do not call registry.
2 AnswersCell Phones & Plans2 years agoHow do robo callers even make money when people just hang up on them when they realize they are scammers?
I get so many calls everyday from scammers. I block the numbers, but the same companies have dozens of numbers, so I still get calls. I just hang up, because it is so obviously a scam. Does anybody actually fall for these ridiculous scams? I just don't see how these companies make money at all. Wish they would just give up and get legitimate jobs!
8 AnswersPolitics2 years agoIs it economically practical to grow your own produce when you live in a city?
I live in town, and have a very small lot, about 40 " by 100". I would like to grow my own produce because 1. My food budget is about $125.00 a month, and I would like to eat healthier, and 2. I would like to know where my food is coming from, and to use netting rather than chemicals to control insects. But I am wondering if this is practical, or if it would end up costing me more money, especially in the beginning. The soil is poor, sandy and clay, so I have been bringing in topsoil as I can afford it. I have a shingle roof, and have read you shouldn't use rain barrels to collect rainwater for produce if you have a shingle roof. So there would be the expense of watering. I am able to track my water usage, and after only two days of watering the grass, my usage has gone from "efficient," about 28 gallons a day to "on target, " with consumption about 175 gallons on the two days I watered my lawn. There would also be the cost of fencing to keep rabbits, deer, and maybe fox and turkeys (if they like berries, and corn too. I have no idea.) out of the garden. And of course, the cost of the seeds and berry bushes. Would it be cheaper to just continue to buy my produce? I bought a little carton of blueberries at Walmart the other day, and it was $5.00!!!
14 AnswersGarden & Landscape2 years agoWill miniature citrus trees grow well indoors in western Wisconsin?
I would like to grow a couple of miniature citrus trees indoors. I live in west-central Wisconsin, and the winters are long with a lot of cloudy days. My home has quite a few large windows, particularly on the east side. The only window on the south side is a double window over my kitchen sink. Will citrus trees grow and thrive in western Wisconsin, or will they not get enough sunlight in the winter to do well?
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape2 years agoIs it possible to get a feral kitten to like being held and petted?
I found a feral kitten over the winter who was in pretty sad shape. I took her in, cleaned her up, fed her, got her checked by a vet. Physically she is healthy and happy, and has adjusted to being an indoor cat. In fact, she was afraid of the grass when I took her outside in my fenced yard. She loves to play, and has bonded with my other cat. But she hates to be petted or held. The only time she willingly snuggles with me is at night when I am in bed. But even then, she usually sleeps down by my feet, only coming up to let me pet her once in awhile. I am wondering if I force her to let me hold her and pet her, will she eventually start to enjoy it, or will I just make her mad and afraid I am going to pick her up, so she will run away if I get too close to her? I think she is about five or six months old now.
18 AnswersCats2 years agoThe levers to release the gas cap cover and to open the trunk in my 2007 Kia Spectra stopped working. Is this easy to fix?
About a week ago the levers inside my car to release the gas cap cover and to open the trunk stopped working. The trunk release isn't a big deal because I can open it with my key. The gas cap cover is a different story. There is no way to open it except for the lever inside the car (or maybe with a crow bar). Will this be easy and cheap to fix, or expensive and complicated?
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs2 years agoCan anyone help me assemble the front part of this bike?
The instructions are terrible, written by someone whose first language is NOT English, and the diagrams are blurry and small. I have never built a bike before, but obviously something isn't right. The front tire is rubbing the frame.
2 AnswersCycling3 years agoCan anyone tell me why when I exercise I feel achy afterwards? Not achy like sore muscles, but achy like the flu?
Whenever I exercise, I feel like I have the flu afterwards. I am achy all over, so bad that even my skin hurts. My joints hurt, my head hurts, I get the chills, and sometimes even run a fever. I have done this since I was a kid. My mom used to accuse me of doing it on purpose to ruin anything fun she had planned for us. As if I can purposely get a fever! The exercise doesn't even have to be that strenuous. Something like walking around the mall makes it happen. Has anyone heard of this, or known anyone else it happens to?
2 AnswersInfectious Diseases3 years agoWhat can I do to make it easier to trim my cats'claws?
I don't want to get my cats declared, but they give me such a struggle when I try to trim their nails. I started doing this when they were babies, as advised, but when I try to trim their claws, I get shredded, rather than my furniture, bedding, curtains, clothes, etc. How can I make this easier on all of us? They act like they don't trust me after I am done.
13 AnswersCats3 years agoHow can I keep my cats from jumping over my 6' privacy fence without keeping them on a leash?
I would like to let my cats spend time outside with me, but don't want to worry about them getting loose. Inside, they can leap from the floor to the top of my kitchen cupboards. Any inexpensive ideas? Thanks.
