  • Can a 1500 watt sine wave inverter on two car batteries run an electric chain saw?

The folks at Duracell said the Duracell Powerpack 600 is not for yard equipment like hedge clippers and electric chainsaws. This is for laptops, cell phones light weight stuff.

I thought I could perhaps buy a 1500 watt sine wave inverter and a few car batteries and build my own power pack. Will it have enough power to run the electric chainsaw?

  • The old John Deere Sabre riding mower is 13 years old and will not start?

I replaced the clutch switch and the starter and the battery is fully charged. The most it will crank over is about 1/4 turn and then stops and acts like the battery is dead. I checked the trouble shooting manual and everything is good. The only solution I could give my boss was not to waste $75 an hour in repair cost in the shop but to get a new mower. He agreed and will be getting a larger new riding mower. I still would like to know what it could have been wrong with the old mower because most likely my boss will give me the old mower as a gift to tinker with and sell.

  • Small farm animals for meat production, which would be the best producers?

    Quail would require a coop.

Guinea Pig would require cages or pens or a large shed with concrete floors.

Tilapia would require a holding tank or pond.

There may be other options to consider but I wouldn't want to go much larger than a quail or guinea pig.

I would be living in close to other neighbors and would not want noisy animals

  • Fermented Peanuts vs Roasted Peanuts?

I love sauerkraut so much that I have started making my own with baby carrots. The fermenting process unlocks all the nutrient rich vitamins and minerals in the carrot that our digestive systems would not have the ability to access. I also love boiled peanuts and was advised by nutritionist never to eat roasted peanuts because roasting peanuts changes it into something unhealthy. Boiled peanuts are excellent so I figure fermented peanuts must be the BOMB of great taste and healthy benefits. Chinese or Asian Markets sell fermented beans for stir fry that are supposed to be really tasty. I used to eat roasted peanuts all the time because my junk food loving wife had them all over the house. Ever since I found out roasting them makes them worthless for my health I have quit eating them. Boiled Peanuts are hard to find unless you drive way out into the country. I can make my own sauerkraut and pickled carrots so I thought I could also do fermented peanuts. Are there any special instructions for fermenting peanuts?

I what to airbrush more than just hats and shirts that are cotton. I have heard of painted silk ties so there must be more options than just cotton. I have a Military Patrol hat made of 50% Nylon 50% Cotton I believe will take the airbrush paint. I haven't tried yet. Are there limitations to the Textile Paints and are there rules or various other Textile Paints used for painting on other fabrics.

  • Are Mango peels eatable?

The majority of the antioxidants are in the skins of fruit and vegetables. Apples have pectin in the skin and I suspect the majority of the antioxidants of the tomato are in the skin also. The main reason folks peel their fruit and vegetables is to separate any pesticides from the meal. If they are washed properly there shouldn't be any reason not to eat the peels. I use my blender a lot to liquify my fruit and vegetables into smoothies. If the Mango peels are beneficial why not liquify them also. The seed inside the pit might also have have valuable minerals for health and fitness. It would seem the only thing to dispose of would be the stem and the hard woody pit. Orange peels are used to make marmalade so may-be they also are valuable resources or antioxidants. Through my blender liquifying these things with other tasty items any strong or bitter taste will be nullified. I do not add sugar or any artificial sweeteners. My goal is to have healthy smoothies rich in vitamins. minerals and antioxidants and proteins. Are there any peels or seeds of fruit or vegetables that are not eatable or toxic?

  • My sound system blew a speaker, where do I find a replacement speaker?

I need a 4 inch - 8 ohm speaker the manufacture says is discontinued. It is a perfectly good sound system and i do not want to trash it for one blown speaker. I tried looking all over the Internet for a suitable replacement speaker. Every web site has junk search engines that just bring up all kinds of suggestions for things they want to sell rather than finding the speaker I need. A 4 ohm auto speaker will not work because I am told it will draw current faster and heat up the amplifier of a home sound system thus causing damage to the amplifier and the rest of the system. I guess there are no adapters to make a 4 ohm speaker work in place of an 8 ohm speaker or are there any? I may have to build a new speaker cabinet that will hold a set of 5 1/4 inch - 8 ohm speakers. I would like to know where I can find replacement speakers for a home sound system. Radio Shack does not carry them. They like all the rest try to sell something I do not need that will not work. I need the 4 inch -8 ohm speaker only. Where can I find one?

  • If I bake then dice beef liver into small pieces to use as a substitute for burger in chilli, will it need __?

I may use liver in spaghetti sauce also for whole wheat noodles. I am looking for richer protein and iron in my meals and trying to get more liver but do not want it fried in a pan with onions. It just comes out tough and makes a big mess. I would rather dice it up after I bake a lot of it and put it in a sauce.

  • I soaked my dry beans over night, what do I add to them when I boil them?

I always add Cumin, garlic powder and olive oil. I know everyone must have their own ingredients they add. I just want to know what they are. I don't add any pork and don't want to. The idea here is to have a fat free meal for health and fitness. I do want a lot of ideas because I boil a pot of beans every week. It is a whole lot cheaper than buying can beans and a whole lot more healthy without all the chemical additives of processed foods and all the salt and fat they add also. A 10 pound bag of beans last a few months or more for one person.

It does work as a health and fitness meal. Back in March my Doc told me, I got to quit junk foods because of my blood being so thick with Triglycerides. My triglyceride level was very high at 405 and normal is less then 150. Since then I have gone down from 212 lbs to weigh in at 195 this morning. My blood pressure has dropped so much the Doc took me off blood thinners and has said I can start running.

  • Ariens Rocket V rear tine tiller question?

The drive pulley has two grooves for what I thought was to accommodate 2 belts but the pulley on the front of the tiller has two different diameter pulleys. It is not the reverse drive pulley because that is even smaller diameter than the other two drive pulleys. The replacement drive belts are the identical size but there are no identical size drive pulleys on my Ariens Rocket V rear tine tiller.

Only thing I can figure is this one had the option of using a faster tilling ratio using a different size drive belt on the smaller drive pulley.

The folks who sent me the new engine conversion kit must not have known the old Rocket V had different size drive pulleys. Will the new Briggs & Stratton 9.00 have too much torque for using only one drive belt or will I need to find a matching set of drive pulleys and use two drive belts?

  • Is the sodium in processed foods the same as salt?

And since there seems to be no sodium free foods how much sodium is too much? Can we eat processed foods and still strive towards fitness and excellent health or is the sodium going to push the heart rate into stress during exercise?

I have read health articles saying we need Soy Milk but we must drink soy milk without the sodium and all the sugar vanilla and chocolate added. Then I go to every store I know and every store brand of soy milk is loaded with sodium and sugar. Even the plain soy milk is loaded with sodium.

I know the body needs salt and converts it into a lubricant for muscles and joints. I use sea salt. I have heard the sodium in processed foods is altered somehow and is not the same as salt. One hot dog loaded with sodium phosphates can accelerate the heart rate for two days. I have been fighting high cholesterol and high blood pressure but it isn't easy to obey Doctors and health guidelines when all the foods are loaded with everything I am told to quit. I even looked up powered milk and it too has sodium. If I can not escape the sodium in foods I need to know how to deal with it.
