I have observed it several times. Those workers could have the same (or more) education and work experience as the permanent workers, possibly even management too. It is like there is a stigma attached to being a temp.

Some people prefer independent study and choose to obtain a degree in the distance learning format. There are traditional schools who offer online degrees in addition to the classroom option. There are also online-only or correspondence schools which offer distance learning degrees. Would you view their respective degrees the same and why?

The pay is about $6/hr less than the minimum I was hoping for (and am qualified for). But there is opportunity to work overtime, the benefits are good, and there is a lot of growth potential.

The employer said it takes 10 days to put a trace on mailed items, but isn't it their responsibility to make sure employees are paid timely? How long should an employee have to wait, and especially since the check may never come? They have the correct address so that wasn't the problem.

My employer wants me to stay on in a new position they are creating. I have a degree in math and statistics and want to do analytical type of work (I was doing admin/clerical work). They don't have anyone currently doing statistical work but would love to have me around for various projects. I've gotten used to the place, and I love my hours too as I get to come in early morning and leave by early afternoon. It's boring at times but everyone gets along pretty good and it works well with my part-time graduate program. But I am also being considered for an entry level financial analyst position in another department. That's the field I have been extremely interested in since undergraduate school. This would probably be more challenging and open more doors. But the hours are later and I'd probably have to work overtime as finance work usually has to be completed each day. My studies could be affected. What would you do?
