3 AnswersSkin & Body1 decade agoIs Gandhi's non-violence method only worthy of children's history books? Do we, the people, need to revisit it
Gandhi, a true legend - not a fairy-tale man... lead a whole country to independence exactly 59 years ago on this day. It was via his non-violent perseverance. Children worldwide are taught this and expected to follow the same.
What happened to us, the adults, who're busy corrupting, fighting and killing over everything we see? Is there really no peaceful way out of all the political nonsense going on?
Are we, the bearers of this torture, verbally incapable of handling such issues? Why are we so educated yet so primitive? Do we not have any CIVIL way to solve such trivial problems rather than blow them out of proportion?
15 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoWhat can we do to improve India as a nation?
Hi All,
On this day that marks our 59th year of independence, let's unite our minds and think of all that can be improved in our country. Any solutions for what you feel is yet to change and HOW TO change it?
1) The yet-existent discrimination in the name of castes, gender, religion, etc
2) The unhygenic/polluted environment
3) The uneducated population
4) The corrupt political system
And any others you think are key..
PS: No answers from critics who're good for just that - only answers with constructive solutions please!
7 AnswersOther - India1 decade agoHow can we cure this disease known as terrorism/violence?
What can we do to make these brain-washed fanatics see sense? That includes not just those young British Asians who plotted to blow up planes, but also the fanatic George Bush cult who goes around blowing up other countries, it includes the British army in Iraq... It includes all MURDERERS!
There's no point blaming religions or nations... maybe there needs to be a worldwide acceptance of each other. In my opinion, no one community is being anymore civil than the other. The West uses Bush and Blair's army, the Middle East uses suicide bombers.
What can we, the people affected by these cheap political gimicks, do to stop this nonsense?? How do we really bring a peaceful revolution? How do we educate these people not to be self-destructive?
PS: This question crosses the barriers of East vs West, who's more civilised, who's more right, etc. EVERYONE at war is wrong! So please say something constructive.. no need for fanatics' ignorance to be highlighted here
26 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agohellllppppp pleeeeeease! java algorithms!?
can someone plz provide some insight on this?
A cancellation error occurs when you are manipulating a very large number with a very small number. The large number may cancel out the smaller number. To obtain more accurate results, the order of computation must be selected carefully. Write a Java program (with the main method) that compares the results of the summation of the following series computing from left to right and right to left.
1 + 1/2 + 1/3 + ..... + 1/n
Your program should then ask the user to enter a positive and greater than zero number, calculate the summation from left to right, calculate the summation from right to left and display appropriate messages with the two calculated summations.
Example test data:
for n=50000 you should see:
L-R: 11.397003949278504
R-L: 11.397003949278519
