Why is there a difference in the charges (and results) in two murder cases this week? A Kelowna BC man was convicted of 1st degree murder of an 18 year old girl, after he attacked and killed her after trying to rape her. In this case, it was not a systematic killing ... rather an on the spot anger killing.

However, in Brampton, Ont. a couple were only charged with 2nd degree murder after it was established that they had systematically beaten and starved their 10 year old boy over a period of months, resulting in his death.

Where is the justice in these two charges?

Have been on Sprint website and very confusing. All I want to do is email Sprint and lodge a complaint that I am constantly being harassed by phone calls purportedly coming from Sprint Canada rattling on about my computer. Quite honestly, the speaker has such a heavy accent, I am unable to understand him. However, I want to let Sprint know that phone calls are obviously being made under their banner.

I would like to purchase e-cigarettes and cartomizers at a local Canadian shop but no one seem to advertise them. So far I have only found them by seeing them at 7-11 and Shoppers, and both charge exhorbitant prices compared with the US, Most sites selling e-cigarettes and cartomizers on the internet end up being in the U.S. and it is very frustrating trying to make informed comparison pricing.

Is it legal for a landlord to insist that a second year-long lease be signed at the end of the first year of tenancy? I was not informed when I signed the original tenancy for one year that I would be required to sign continual year-to-year leases. At the end of my first year I wanted to I rent on a month-to-month tenancy as I was not sure of my plans for the following year, but was informed by the Property Management Company that I had the choice of signing for a further year or moving. I was in no position to move at that time and felt under duress to sign - blackmailed in fact into signing for a second year.

I wanted to organize rides home for my guests on New Years Eve, but this program doesn't seem to operate in Victoria. I know local pubs are organizing transport for their patrons, but is there any such program for private parties?

As a new gardner I was delighted with my first crop of brussel sprouts last year. Now it is winter the stalks still stand tall. Living in BC with a mild climate, I wonder if I can just cut back the stalks and wait for another crop of sprouts next year (or do I have to pull them out and start all over again later in the year).

Last year there were quite a few responses to a question regarding the legality of an enlisted female moving her brother into military housing. The consensus was that this was against regulations.

The answers were obviously relevant to the US Military, however, can someone advise if this is the same with Canadian Military regulations? A close friend plans to move his girlfriend into Military Housing in Canada, and she is an American national. He says she can live with him and only return to the States just once every 6 months to check in, then she is free to return. My feeling is that both of them are ignorant on both Military and Immigration regulations.

I am planning to tow a 42 ft. trailer for 3,000 miles behind my Suburban next month. I have been advised to fit a wind deflector as the trailer is higher than the Suburban. Does anyone know what gas savings I would achieve, as these deflectors are quite expensive to buy for just one trip.
