Constants in math always confuse me and I'm trying to learn how to solve for problems like this:

(X-8)(x-k)=x^2 - 5kx + m

In the equation above, k and m are constants. If the equation is true for all values of x, what is the value of m?

I've tried looking up videos on YouTube and Khan Academy with zero luck. if you can find or film a video for me solving problems like this, that would be amazing. Thanks!

Hello I m a 17 year old girl and I have a friend name Rachel. Now I ve known her since middle school so we re close but she s starting to annoy me with her weight problems!!

She s on meds that have weight gain as a side effect which I totally understand, but she still doesn t take care of her body. She will complain to me about her weight gain and drink 2 cans of soda in the same breath! I ve seen her do it. She also doesn t exercise due to back problems but swimming I know is a low impact sport. My grandma with arthritis swims 3x a week without complaint!

Also she doesn t eat well. For lunch, instead of bringing a filling healthy meal, she ll eat bags of chips instead. She eats chips for snack time and her pantry is full of junk. Now I indulge as well but not the extent she does and I certainty don t complain when I gain weight because of it.

She just won t stop complaining about her weight but won t do anything constructive about it and I m at my wits end with her! Help me before I lose it with her!!

I don't have kids, but I was wondering if given the opportunity, would you go back and abort your disabled child?

I'm not talking about death threats or outside forces like that, but actual health risks like cancer ect. that comes with it. For example, Marie Curie died due to her involvement in radioactive material, Rosalind Franklin died from cancer due to her x-ray involvement. Could that happen if I tried to study the HIV virus and help look for a cure? Or even cancers? Any help or answers you could come up with backed up by actual evidence would be greatly appreciated.

I'm joining my high school swim team and I'm SCARED!!!! I've never swam competitively, I know all the strokes. Not that quick nor have that much stamina. My dives suck and I can barely do flip turns. Also I'm pretty slow on my backstroke as I'm afraid of hitting my head...HELP?????

Ok for my french assignment, I need the most outrageous celeb couple ever. One girl did Courtney Love and a horse. Anything, as long as it's not too inappropriate (i.e. sexual things). My only request is that they have to be a feminine and masculine thing. One of each as we need to practice both forms. So a soccer ball and David Beckham wouldn't work because both are masculine.

I'm a freshman in high school, and I'm thinking of joining my swim team, but i'm not the best. I haven't gone swimming since August and I was never the fastest. I'm not bad but I'm not as good as the other kids who have been on team for a long time. Most have been on the city swim team for months and I'm just feeling really insecure. I chewed loads of gum on the right side of my jaw and now it really hurts. It hurts when I open my mouth wide and I hear it crack a bit. Help me without telling my parents as they will yell at me. Will stop chewing gum help and fix it?

My right brow is perfectly arched. My left one is not as arched and just not as high. I use the Anastasia dipbrow, but I can't shape them correctly. I looked on YouTube, but they shaved off half their eyebrows in order to shape them the way they want them. I can't bring myself to do that. Also, I have a random bald spot that WON'T GROW BACK! So today was my birthday and one of my good friends didn't do anything. I didn't want her to get me a gift, but she didn't say anything until all my other friends remembered. I would have been happy with a "happy birthday!" or have her sing to me for 20 seconds but she didn't do that. :/ Also, for her birthday, I got her a $30+ gift, wrapped it nicely and got her a card.I also asked a month at least in advance to see what she wanted. And I know a lot of people will call me spoiled or that she didn't get me anything because she has money issues, but she doesn't. She got a new iPhone a month ago, went to the Giants game 1 week ago and she's the only child (both parents working). I would have been happy with a 40 cent card from the dollar store, or a homemade card. How long does it take for a person to make a card out of printer paper and crayons for a good friend??? I didn't want a gift or some big celebration, but I wanted her to at least make me feel appreciated by wishing me a happy birthday. Also last year, she gave me 2 $2 nail polishes (used) and wrapped it with newspaper and stuffed in a grocery bag and I got her her favorite book.

I had a heart patch and my ex boyfriend's initials engraved into my letterman jacket. My ex had the same with his too, but we broke up due to his cheating. I'm 13 and I want to go to my gym to work out, but I'm scared. My gym allows teens from 13 and up to use the gym, but I don't want to be the only 13 year old there. I'm only 5 foot too so that's not helpful either. I need to build up my endurance for P.E. so that's why I want to go. Advice??

I'm an asian girl and pretty skinny. Not a scary skinny but a "fit" type of skinny, I guess? I weigh about 86 pounds and 5 ft. I am a swimmer and work out, and a really healthy person and I have a fast metabolism so I can't gain any weight. Any way to get a big full bum without gaining weight?
