What genre would this belong to? (It's unfinished)?
If all the tears in tinseltown
Were melded down
to a single sparkling diamond drop
then maybe, my movie wouldn't be a flop
and darling, baby, your daddy wouldn't be a cop
I'll be sure to skip around
Leave you sure promises
Unseen in the ground
Center stage stolen kisses...
Paying up the missus (or misses)
Conjuring up the hits
For something not worth its two sh*ts
(This is all I've come up with so far, only really happy with the first 4 lines)

1 AnswerPerforming Arts9 years agoI'D GO WHERE YOU ARE FOREVER (need some suggestions to improve my diction)?
If it floats your boat
Darling,
Go for it!
On your way please remember to note that
Wherever you are--
“Have some sense or none at all,” because
Each day is a blessed boon
Roaring toward the bottom line
Every night wrought an epiphany,
Your delight a happy mine,
On the sea of finding me, so
Unscrupulous of infinity,
Amazing the lights of serenity,
Rounding up the divine.
Effervescent in those escapades brought by
Fulfilled this dreams’ delight;
Onslaught of soon gone memories
Reminiscent with our kingdom’s decline
Each one and every other for themselves
Violently placid, on the surface
Eminent by all who see and those who lie
Rowing away together...

1 AnswerPoetry9 years agoNative Spanish Translator, por favor?
I'm doing a newscast, and it needs to be in Spanish.
Welcome to Inside Juarez, where no story is left untold. Thank you for joining us this afternoon. We will begin with the recent political tension, the female homicides, and then weather, with our chief weather girl, Gabriella.
Next up, an exclusive sneak peak of your favorite soap opera, “La Reina Del Sur”and a song that is taking Mexico by storm.
It’s never too soon to practice, as we visit Mexico’s National Football team, and wrap up with
some delicious chocolate chips! We have great things in store for you today!
A police officer stands guard as supporters of Enrique Pena Nieto, presidential candidate for the opposition Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), walk towards his campaign rally in Ciudad Juarez. Front-runner Nieto vowed to overcome the drug-fueled violence engulfing the country as the campaign for the July 1 election is on its last wing, less than a month away.
Every day thousands of people, cars, trucks and trains pass through our town's six border crossings to the United States, while 300 international companies have set up so-called maquila factories - assembly plants that supply the US market. But Ciudad Juarez owes its international renown to a terrible, sad fact: a total of 393 women have been murdered in the border city between 1993 and 2007. It is known as "the global capital of feminicides."
Mayor Hector Murguia Lardizabal does not like to discuss it with foreign visitors, and he would rather ignore the fact that even the European Parliament has taken up the issue. He prefers to stress the positive aspects of "our beloved Juarez" - industry, cross-border traffic, plentiful tax income, international investment, seemingly unlimited growth. The city grows by 60,000 people every year. Forty years ago Ciudad Juarez was a town of 20,000, but 1.6 million people live there today. Across the border in El Paso, Texas, there are only 700,000.
That being said, as our numbers grow, the police are nowhere close to solving the case. Those who have experienced the loss of a sister or a daughter hope that one day, they killers will stop. Until then, they must be more aware of their surroundings and do all that they can to stay safe.
2 AnswersLanguages9 years ago"Much to tell, little to say" Critique please!?
If it’s too much to ask,
Then it’s too much to give.
So I know you’re not getting it.
So I know you’re not getting it.
There’s little to row
A lot of you to grow
You’ve got so much to show.
Yet, I don’t know how much more
I can wait to let you take your stage
And that’s the truth of it, ought to be aware of it.
That your density is bringing me down
The temper on that viscosity is making me frown
I won’t entertain you, won’t be your clown.
It’s too much to ask for, for you,
Then it’s too much to give.
It may be divine but if I’m willing to forgive
Then you’d be on your way to forget.
And that’s the truth of it now, honey, you ought to know!
No, no no!
I’m just not ready yet--
Not ready yet
That’s for sure.
There’s so much to tell, little to say.
And it’s the truth of it now, baby, you know.
It’s too much to ask,
It’s too much to give
So I you’re not getting it, not getting it.
So I know, I know, you’re not getting it.
No.
1 AnswerPoetry9 years agoHow can I improve the structure of this?
Or just anything I can do to improve this. Gracias!
Strike it off the record please.
No more deals to be made here, dear.
if you are wise,
if anything at all--
No more silly lies in disguise-- please!
Every move on the board
has been played before my eyes
Toying with my foolish heart
Wretched games you won so well
None of that now, boy
The buck has stopped right there
For us.
Before you slinked so near
the way you did:
forged a place by my effervescent side
I’ve made up my mind ( by now)
That you’ve made yours up
In the brief eternity of glance,
You mold your physique, your essence in a system it was not to be
Change so much, so rapidly, there was too much entropy
lost your sight;
dead to me
dead to me
And now it’s time to gut ( or cut) the ties that bind
it’s time
To strike it.
Strike it off the record please.
1 AnswerPoetry9 years agoQuotes that support giving up liberty for security?
I've tried for an hour to look for at least one but more favorably three for this extra credit project I'm doing on the Patriot Act and the NDAA.
I found numerous quotes supporting the opposite, would you please find me one or give me a source that you know for sure has it?
1 AnswerQuotations9 years agoWhat kind of a song/ poem would this be & what do you think it means?
Na-na-nah
Na-na-nah
Na- na
Hush (x2)
Listen to the whispers (Listen to the whispers)
No need to hide behind closed doors
The lies lying right in front of you
Fodder for controversy, illegitimacy
Can’t help but strike (help but strike)
My intrigue
I catch you time and time
Think you’re so clandestine?
The way you’re glancing at me
Maybe I’m just misinterpreting
Na na na
Na
Na
So intrigued
I’m at the edge of my seat
You’re within the reach of my finger tips
Na na na
So, so intrigued
You have a million faces, and there are a million of mine
But only one of them is real enough to touch you through the screen
In the depths of this intrigue
(Whistle) na nah naah nana nana
I’ve always been the one benevolent enough to reach toward the one I’m wanting
But this time, I’ll be the one waiting
Stuck in this sieve
So intriguing …
I catch you time and time again,
Think you’re so clandestine?
The way you glance at me,
Maybe I’m misinterpreting
In your intrigue for me
I don’t want to have to flee.
Nah nah nahhh ah ah
Then that’s just the way it’ll have to be
Till the evaporation of the seas
And you learn to cease and desist
I’ll try not to fade into the mist
Or whisk you into my web of deceit
No promises, no guarantees
Except death of course, in my intrigue
na nan nah nah nahh

1 AnswerOther - Arts & Humanities9 years agoCritique / Analyze poem criticizing the "American Dream"?
"To where?"
We try and fill our time with useless things
And things and things
And ignore what we don’t want to see
So we build a bridge to nowhere
And the future will pass through with no clue
So we build the bridge to nowhere, to know where
And the future will have no clue.
The green is where your hands are
Being red handed only means you need spread the green a bit,
Discreetly
To build the bridge to nowhere
You know where?
And the future will pass through
Pass through
With no clue
We’re all right with it
(yeah, we are)
We’re all right with it
(yeah, yeah we are)
Big job, big car, big house, big dreams
We’ll have them evermore, won’t we?
While the less we know, the more we learn
That this bridge to nowhere is built and done
Beautiful spouse, beautiful babies, beautiful life
I’m longing, waiting, searching, looking forward to you?
We’re all right with it...
(Yes, yes we are)
We’re all right with this
(You know we’re not)
Then we watch on our screens
When some being of that future
Falters and falls
Off of
This bridge we built
To nowhere,
Not so long ago
1 AnswerPoetry9 years agoWhat are some brands or products that have become irrelevant? Why?
I'll start us off
MySpace- Really annoying, I mean I guess some people who use it consider themselves hipsters, you have type in the annoying auto captcha codes that I can never get right the first time, and breeding ground for narcissistic people and eye gouging layouts. (Last time I was on it was maybe 2008 or 2009)
Tommy Hilfiger - still expensive, boring, and a copy cat clone of all the other "name" brands.
Have fun naming a few

1 AnswerPoetry9 years agoDo you read, listen, watch etc to CNN?
Is it credible? why?
ALSO
How would one analyze the ethos, pathos, and logos of the CNN website?
Like a sentence on each. I think I have it down, but it's all spread out, could you give me a clear cut example or explanation of each by looking at the CNN website?
P.S
Turner Broadcasting System. CNN. Cable News Network, 20 Feb. 2012. Web. 20 Feb. 2012. <>.>.http://www.cnn.com/%3E.
so when I do in quote citations, do I put Turner in parenthesis (Turner)?
Thank you!

7 AnswersJokes & Riddles9 years agoHelp me tweak these lyrics, I would be forever grateful!?
I need a person who's good at putting words to music or vice versa?
Which instrumental of a song would these lyrics go best with? I need know ASAP?
For my counseling class project, we had to write lyrics about anxiety disorders and have to put it to the instrumental of a well known song.
I have three that might work, but I'm not sure how to tweak the lyrics to work with what I have or edit it.
"She Wolf" Shakira or "Back to black" Amy Winehouse or "Toxic" Britney Spears
(My lyrics here, I need to add more, and uhmm repeat some lines or something, we're supposed to do this as a group but the group I got assigned to do only want to talk about their failed relationships and twitter, so ...)
There must be an even number of words in a line or
Else my world will come crashing down and
The sky will really be falling
Don’t wait and see
I will keep it from happening
This world is chaos and I keep order
Every move I see you make is too much disorder
Wipe shoes twice, before walking inside
Keep your person off me at all times
A bare minimum of four showers a day
To keep the heinous contagious germs at bay
Remember to scrub the apple for sixteen minutes under hot water so to get rid of the pesticide and
To keep the doctor way away
House must be sanitized so no cats, and please no dogs allowed!
A perfectly balanced room depends on feng shui, and symmetry.
I demand you learn karma and integral empathy.
There’s no end in sight for my entropy
I’m a compulsive in distress
Let me in so I can breathe
Any help you can give me would be very much appreciated!
