1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks7 years agoWill my new laptop support Steam games like Skyrim?
Hey everyone,
I got Skyrim for Christmas on PC but my current laptop won't support the needed T&L to run it. I'm getting a new laptop on friday and I want to know if it has a better shot. I don't mind the graphics being horrible until I can afford an external one but I just want to know if it will at least run the game. All the specs I can give now since it's not here yet are as follows:
The laptop is a Dell Insprion 750
The preinstalled GC is a
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD
Again don't care if it works well, just that it does in some way. The current laptop I have won't even play it so anything would be an upgrade @ this point. Any info will help and a link is most amazing. Thanks.

Why does everyone seem to think there is a MASSIVE shortage of adoptive parents for foster children in America? As a member of the LGBTQ community, I must contest this theory. I know there is a shortage, but it needs not be so massive. In most states, my own (Texas) included, there are thousands of LGBTQ couples who would love to adopt foster children and cannot due to governmental regulations from their state. Why won’t the US federal and state governments legalize adoption LGBTQ couples? Most of us would be happy to adopt those children and love them but we are not allowed… WHY?

When did adoption become about the PAP's wants/desires more so than the child? I mean come on now. No one "needs" a baby... NO ONE. Children unable to stay with their families due to abuse/neglect whatever the situation is NEED guardians. When did we forget this?

Why on earth is it so hard for some non adopted people to comprehend why an adopted person feels like knowing where they came form? We grew up (non adopted people) knowing who we look like, where our facial figures, body types, and genetics in general came from. How can someone ask another person why on earth they would need to know something so vital to who they are. I'd personally find it odd as heck if my adopted child DID NOT want to know that. My great aunt was given up at birth by my great grandmother and loved her adoptive parents very much so we (her bio family) lost 50 + years with her because she waited until her adoptive mother died to search for us. Now at the very least she knows who she looks like and who looks like her (my aunt is her spitting image in every way possible). How could anyone not understand the drive adopted people have to know their own families? Adoption does not erase biology in any way... how could someone imagine not caring to find people who you are linked with literally on a cellular/biological level, who made the first sounds you ever heard exc...

If 'good Christian couples' are so desperate for a child to parent what would it matter what age, race, or background they are/came from? Why is it they're willing to pay out the nose for a BABY when so many children are available for adoption right now? Do to my sexuality I am unable to adopt a child from where I live from FC just now but I am perfectly happy to wait till its legal or move when the time comes that I am ready. I am also not planning on an infant. I would like to adopt an elementary/middle school age child 6-12 or so. So some 'good Christian person' or anyone else with an insight/opinion on the matter pleas feel free to tell me why you HAVE TO adopt a baby? They're just as likely to turn out like any foster child could. Those are GOOD kids, they simply need a home, why adopt one of them?

Does everyone here think that as APs or PAPs we all believe that we are entitled to someone else's child? I am in no way entitled to any child, they are not a need, I need water, I don't need a child. I would however like to raise one to become a happy and healthy adult if possible. I plan to adopt from foster care and give a child in need that chance. I do not however understand where you seem to think think we ALL got a sense of entitlement. I'm not saying some don't, I know one really well who does indeed think she was but I wanted to know your opinion, do you think we ALL think that we have the right to any child we happen to like?

18 AnswersAdoption1 decade agoWhy is it that some PAPs (Not all mind you...) say?
Why is it that some PAPs (Not all mind you...) say that its so hard to adopt a child yet they COMPLETELY overlook the children who may not meet their standards? Personally, as you know if you've read my posts here I plan to adopt when I am emotionally and at least mostly financially ready to provide a home for a child who needs one. I am willing and would be MORE than happy to adopt a child of any race and background who needed a family to care for them. and agreed to their adoption (providing of course they are old enough... I will adopt an infant who needs a home if they can't find one although I doubt that would occur)
I guess I what I want to know is: How so many other PAPs are so dead set on getting a specific 'type' of child. Also if Each and every human living is different... just because they look more like you does not mean that they are the only child that could belong in your home right???
Adoption was invented to create a family for children who did not have theirs and while I agree that the child should fit in in the home for their sake as well as that of the PAPs other children if they have them, the main focus should be giving a child a loving home shouldn't it?

To begin, I’m a female and a lesbian. Well anyway, I met this girl and I really like her. She is smart, funny, dependable, responsible, in college, working on a career, has a job and we get along well. The thing is, I just learned that she is bisexual and I was thinking of asking her out but I don’t know if I should. What do you guys think?
(We are both over 18 and in college)
11 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoIs any International Adoptee happy?
I would like to adopt a child internationally one day. I would like to know if there are any children adopted oversees that are happy with their parents. I intend to keep my child as much a part of their heritage as possible. If their country has any "coming of age" rituals that my child wishes to be part of I would be more than happy to fly them there just to do so. I want them to know and respect where they came from just as much as I would want them to know that I love them. My goal is not to keep them from their culture but to give them a loving home with a loving parent who wishes to do all they can to give them a life that they can be happy to have.
I know that some international adoptees here are unhappy with teir lives, I just wish to know what about it makes you unhappy. Nothing indepth but generally why your unhappy with your life with your family.

I'm a lesbian and am hoping to move to a GL BT friendly place to move around Mesquite/Dallas. I'd like it to be close to Eastfield College since I attend classes there. Thanks for the help everyone.
