Is this GERD/anxiety or cardiac?
Initially I went to the ER last month in June for severe chest pain and difficulty breathing. I was given an EKG and chest x-ray which were fine and they diagnosed me with GERD and anxiety. My family doesn't have heart disease but anxiety and GERD runs on my dad's side. My regular dr put me on protonix which seemed to work for a month until a few days ago where I had difficulty breathing and went to the ER again where I had another EKG and blood work which came out normal. My regular doctor did another EKG and blood work and that was normal too! The 2nd visit to the ER the dr told me to stop the protonix and to take pepcid 2 times a day instead. I'm honestly having a hard time believing this is just GERD even though it makes sense given my history.
I am 22 yr old female vegetarian. I quit smoking and drinking coffee last month when all this started. I've also modified my diet and lost 10 lbs (wasn't heavy to begin with). I'm just really scared but I am diagnosed with anxiety which I am sure doesn't help my symptoms. I have an endoscopy Friday as well. Does anyone think this is possibly cardiac related or is it really GERD/anxiety? I just think it's odd because I don't cough up acid or anything but I do have a feeling of food in my throat. I also have on/off joint pain in the left arm. Do you think stopping protonix was the right move?

2 AnswersOther - Diseases8 years agoHow to redeem ContinentalAirlines OnePass miles?
I have 41, 898 miles on my old Continental Airlines OnePass account. The last time I flew was in 2005. I still have the letter from back then telling me my account number and stuff. When looking up the website I found that since the merge of airlines, OnePass no longer exists apparently. I tried signing up for MileagePlus using the OnePass account number and it didn't work. Anybody have a similar problem or know what I can do to redeem my miles and if it's even possible?
3 AnswersAir Travel8 years agoWhy do my fingers and toes sometimes contract?
Sometimes, my fingers and toes contract on their own and it feels uncomfortable and a little painful and I will have to try to flex my fingers or toes in order to make it stop. Is this normal? I'm 19 and am relatively healthy. I asked my mom once and she said not to worry about it but last night I was woken up by my fingers contracting. I could see the muscle in my hand bump up a tiny bit through my skin. It freaked me out because it hadn't happened in a really long time.
1 AnswerOther - General Health Care1 decade agoWhy does my new tattoo look faded?
I just got a triforce tattoo about a month ago and in some of the areas the ink looks like it has smeared black within the colored sections. you have to really look at it in order to notice this. Also, in some of the colored sections it looks less vibrant. Is the healing process still going on or did I do something wrong? I did shave over it a week after I got it done because it's on my leg. Could this be the reason? thanks
2 AnswersTattoos1 decade agoA question for sociopaths?
How do you see the world? It seems as though anywhere you look on the internet, different websites always advocate that sociopaths are evil and should be ditched immediately after identification. I don't agree with this in the least, being that I am a medical aide for the mentally ill and consider myself a relatively open-minded individual. Anyway, this is a question for sociopaths (diagnosed or otherwise) and lovers of sociopaths and even relatives of sociopaths. Just tell me, what is your perspective?
2 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoFantasy Novel Dialogue (Fantasy writers help)?
I've recently asked a question concerning dialogue in fantasy novels. The problem is even if I have a general understanding of the language of the middle ages that still doesn't make my novel realistic. I can make it so my characters speak well enough, but where does that leave me when I'm crafting the 3rd person prose of the novel? Do I have to write the novel (in its entirety) in this ancient english way or can I just leave this with the dialogue? Wouldn't doing so cause a blatant lack of flow between context prose and dialogue? And even if I decided to make my characters have modern British accents (being that my novel is not set on this Earth, the time period and location does not apply the same way, giving me more freedom), I'm not native to England and therefore will undoubtedly generate an obvious misunderstanding of the language despite my greatest efforts. I hope you see what I mean. So, my question is this: How do I go about creating a realistic fantasy novel set in the middle ages without hampering the content or dialogue with my crippling language barrier? Please give me serious answers and don't be rude. Links to websites concerning this or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. I apologize if my question is amateur-like but I rather be safe than sorry.
Thank you in advance.
3 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoLanguage in a fantasy novel?
I am going to attempt writing a fantasy novel but I'm relatively new to the genre. I would like it to be set in the middle ages, not in this world, but am unsure on what their language should be like. I'm assuming they should speak with an old english dialect. Does this sound right? Any helpful links regarding language in fantasy novels or tips would be greatly appreciated.

2 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoIs birth control worth it?
I'm deciding whether or not I should go on the pill. I hear it gives you weight gain and on top of that I can suffer from side effects. Also it is only 99% effective so I don't want to be one of those women that ended up pregnant while taking it, although I realize if I take it at the same time everyday I should be fine. Can any women who are on or were on the pill please help me make my decision?

6 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoI have a weight problem! Please help me!!!!?
Okay. I've had this problem ever since middle school. I was always so sad about my weight. I hit puberty before the other girls so of course I gained more weight while they all stayed boyish-looking. In high school I fought to be thin. I went from 156 down to 119!!! I was so happy being thin. A nutritionalist told me I was anorexic, I was happy about that...
So I started to eat and I didn't gain any weight because of the high metabolism I developed from exercising. Well...the weight came back and now I am in my first year of college and weigh in the 150's! The first time I lost the weight I lost it really fast. This time I just can't stop eating food. I'll go all day eating well and then at night just completely binge. It's terrible and I really want to be 119 again. My goal weight is 115. It's so hard though. I did it once before with a good diet and exercise but it's just SO hard not to eat now. Btw I'm 5'4 1/2 so 150's sucks for me. My body proportions the weight well so I don't look that fat.
Can you guys please tell me ways to stay motivated and disiplined with losing weight. I'm begining to get really depressed and feel disgusting. Please help me. Positive comments only. I am not anorexic or bulimic and I don't want to be. 115 is a good weight for 5'4 people!!! I'm sorry this is so long but I really need a good answer!
14 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoWhat is it like to live in a psychiatric hospital?
I'm in the midst of writing a novel and haven't had much success in finding information regarding what it's like to be in one of these places. What is it like being admitted involuntarily? Are you allowed to have a cell phone? What are the rooms like? What sort of rules are there? Do they give everyone pills? Is it scary? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.
