Is eligibility for the $1400 checks based on last years income, or 2019 income? ?
Last year I had some unforeseeable expenses, so I had to take money out of my IRA. This put me over $80K income. 2019, income was much less.
5 AnswersUnited States1 month agoWill I get in trouble if I turn on my own gas after termite tenting?
We're having our house tented in a couple weeks. The gas and electric company (SDG&E) will not be able to come to our house until day following the tent removal to turn on the gas and light the pilots. I asked if I can just do this myself, but they said it's the law that they need to do it.
Question is - I plan to do this myself. Can I get in trouble?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs2 months agoLiveLeak comments section - any way to get access?
I opened an account on Liveleak.com. I found that I can't see comments, vote on videos, of upload content. Is there any way to get access to these features?
1 AnswerOther - Internet5 months agoIf one side packs the SCOTUS, could the other side unpack it if/when they assume control?
Assume the Dems win the presidency and take control of the senate, then follow through with packing the Supreme Court with x number of justices.
In the future, could a Republican president/senate "unpack" the court, removing some justices? Could they selectively remove the ones they don't like?
7 AnswersPolitics6 months agoIs there a correlation between attractiveness of a presidential candidate's spouse and their chance of winning?
This topic appears very misogynistic, but I swear it's for science.
I've been looking at candidates over the past few decades, and the patterns seems clear: the candidate with the more *physically* attractive spouse has won.
Went back to Nixon/McGovern. Some of the first ladies were well past their prime at the time of the election. But generally speaking, the candidate with the easier-on-the-eyes spouse seems to triumph.
Am I wrong? Are there any exceptions over the past century or so?

Politics8 months agoTrump is blamed for 173,000 Covid deaths. Is he responsible for every single one?
If Hillary Clinton were president, would we have 0 deaths? Fewer?
What would she have done differently - locked the entire country down in February? And if the US had any deaths under her watch, would she be 100% liable, as Trump is for every single death?
Just trying to quantify Trump's culpability. Should it be offset by things like Nancy Pelosi insisting it's ok to join the festivities in Chinatown for the Chinese New Year (and racist to suggest otherwise)?
8 AnswersPolitics8 months agoWhat happened to "wash our hands"?
The first month of Covid, it was constant messaging to wash your hands. PSAs, politicians, celebrities - Please Wash Your Hands!!
Haven't heard a peep about washing hands in months. Now it's all about masks, which in the beginning, we were told NOT to wear, and now it's debatable as to whether they actually help (or maybe ever do more harm).
Experts have said washing hands is more effective that wearing a mask... so I don't know what is happening here.

I cannot find an answer to this anywhere. Why are they protesting?
8 AnswersPortland9 months agoDoes the right actually like Trump? Or do they just hate the leftist ideology?
I have no love for Trump and I've never voted for a republican. But after watching the left's tantrum of the the last 3.5 years, and how they're cheer-leading the violent looting and destruction of our cities, I understand how an on-the-fence voter could be repulsed enough by the democrats to actually vote Orange in November.
6 AnswersPolitics9 months agoIs it possible for the leftists to crash the stock market right before the election?
No trying to stir political debate. But it seems a really great (and obvious) scenario coming into the next election would be for the stock markets to be heavily tanked, thus removing one of Trump's last 'accomplishments' - record-high stocks and 401Ks.
How would this likely be achieved? Would it be as simple as a coordinated sell-off?
And (of course the $64K question) when would be the best time to implement this?
7 AnswersPolitics9 months agoIf your employer is breaking the law, and you know about it - but keep working there, are you guilty of the same (or another) crime?
Say you're an employee at a bank. You know the bank president is engaging in fraud. But you do not report him, and keep working there. Are you also a criminal?
4 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 year agoHow much could I keep if I withdraw a rollover-IRA early?
If I cashed in $1,000,000 rollover IRA, how much am I likely to keep after state, local, penalties, etc?
I live in California and am <50 years old. If annual income matters, let's say married <$140K.
