2 AnswersChemistry12 months agoWhy Do People Only Love or Hate Trump?
I'm an independent, not a republican nor a democrat. I think Trump has made some great moves as President, but also some awful ones. Why do democrats ignore everything positive that Trump does, and republicans ignore everything negative he does? Democrats act like he can do no right and republicans act like he can do no wrong. Why? Do you think maybe this is just a form of conformational bias?

Something deep, from within. Not something of your physical appearance. Face your demons.

1 AnswerChemistry1 year agoChromatography Question ?
I'm running a solution through a silica gel column in an attempt to separate three organic molecules from it. The molecules are all colorless. After collecting my fractions, I plan to use thin layer chromatography and UV to detect the presence of the molecules. My question is -- Once I have determined with UV that a molecule is present, how can I figure out which specific molecule is present?

2 AnswersChemistry1 year agoPostpartum Bleeding -- Is This Normal?
Tomorrow I will be 7 weeks postpartum. After giving birth, I passed lochia for about 2 and a half weeks (ish) and then all discharge/bleeding stopped. Then I started bleeding again at around 4/5 weeks postpartum. I bled moderately for about 6 days and then it stopped. The OB told me this was my first period after birth. Now at 6, almost 7 weeks postpartum, I woke up this morning and I am bleeding again. Is this normal, or do I need to call the OB? Thanks in advance

I bleached my hair, and I knew that would do some damage but I’ve never had my hair feel like this before. It’s waxy and gummy, kinda feels like there’s still conditioner in it but there isnt, and stretchy/breaking. This is only in certain spots, not the entire head. Is it salvageable?

5 AnswersElections1 year agoWhat criteria is used to select a solvent for column chromatography? ?
I assume that selecting the solvent depends on the molecules which you are trying to separate. Does it come down to polarity? How do you pick the solvent which will be most effective at separating molecules?
Chemistry1 year agoHow do you test colorless substances in a column chromatography fraction?
After separating everything into fractions, if the solvent and solute are both colorless, how do you test to see which molecules are in which fraction? Can you use thin layer chromatography to test colorless substances, or would you have to use another method?
