  • Is this website down, or can I just not load it?

Someone else try clicking on this: shop.lomography.com/cameras

I keep trying to go there and it won't load. This isn't an ad or spam. Just let me know if you can load the page. Thanks!

  • How can i cause a light leak in a rangefinder?

I just bought a Yashica MG-1 on eBay, and I've been getting into this whole lomography/alternative photography business, and I wanna deliberately introduce a light leak to the camera to cause some of those streaks. Is the best way to do it to just drill a hole in the camera? If so, where and how big? I kinda don't want anything that would distract from the pictures, but not too subtle. Just "there," you know? Thanks!

  • Adobe Illustrator CS5 Help?

I want to cut a hole in an object and I want the hole to be in the shape of some text that I've typed. How do I do this? I'm assuming I expand the text so that it's just vector shapes, which I've already done, then what? Do I use the Pathfinder Palette, and if so which option? And what do I have to group anything? Thanks in advance.

  • Merge paths in Adobe Illustrator CS5?

I'm using Adobe Illustrator CS5 and I have several shapes in the same layer, but when I use the "Drop Shadow" effect, one shape drops a shadow on the other. I've tried going Effect>Pathfinder>Merge, Add, Intersect, but I still get the shadow drop overlap. How do I avoid this? I want it to appear as one shape, all dropping one shadow on the background. Thanks.

  • When was Thomas Paine's essay "Of The Religion of Deism Compared with the Christian Religion" written?

I have scoured the internet and I can find a hundred instances of the essay itself, but no publishing date. If you could let me know soon, that would be great. And any other publishing information you could give me would be much appreciated.

  • Help! I accidentally erased Mac OS X!?

I have a MacBook and today I tried to install Ubuntu Linux on it and when I thought I was partitioning my hard disk, I actually erased Mac OS X (10.6). I have the disk to reinstall OS X but I need to retrieve some files from the hard disk. Most of it's backed up either to my iPod or my external hard drive but there's a few movies and TV shows I want back. Is there anything I can do? Thanks.

Does anyone know of a poem by Edgar Allan Poe that uses a slant rhyme scheme or a pun? The poem needs to be fairly short. Thanks.

  • Who were the dirty dozen?

In Carl Sandburg's poem "Alley Rats," written in the early 1900s, he references the "Dirty Dozen," and he talks about them being known among the police and hung, so I assume they were a group of criminals, but I'm having a hard time finding an answer as to who exactly they were. If anyone could give me a link, that would be fantastic. Thanks.

  • Do all torrents include malware?

A friend of mine told me that torrent files always include malware, no matter what, and just deleting the .torrent file won't get rid of it after it's been unzipped and downloaded in µTorrent. However, I have a Mac, so I don't know if malware can do anything to me besides take up a little space b/c most malware is .exe, right? Anyway, I need to know if I've installed a bunch of malware by downloading torrents, and if so, how can I get rid of it?

  • Is it weird to not be home by 2:30AM?

OK, there are 4 people (High School age) at someone's house at 2:30 AM. Nothing weird there, but 2 of them aren't even staying the night. They're just hanging out there and going home later. That's weird at 2:30 in the morning if their parent's know about it, right? Most high school kids have to be home by about 12AM, right? My friend says that it's not weird because some people's parents are fine with it, because everyone's different, but I say most parents would not be cool with that. Who's right?

  • I saw this flash game...?

I saw a flash game on addicting games, but I don't remember what it's called. It was a very basic 2D graphics game, and the basis was you had to destroy a building or structure, I believe using explosives... or maybe a catapult... I don't remember, but it was NOT Demolition City, although it was similar. There was a little character on screen and in the first levels there was a skyline in the background. If anyone can send me a link or even the name of the game, that'd be great. I'll give a best answer.

  • How do I output video from my macbook to my TV?

I just received a couple of cables from Amazon: one is a Mini Displayport to female HDMI, and the other is a male HDMI to that yellow video connector on all TVs. I've hooked everything up, but I don't know where to go from here. Is there a key combination I need to put in or a display setting I need to change? I've already tried clicking "detect displays" in System Preferences, but that didn't work. Please help! Thanks.

  • How can we make our electromagnet more efficient?

We built an electromagnet and we need it to hold up 4oz screw for about 60 seconds on a 6V battery. The problem is, the magnet uses up roughly a tenth of a volt per second, and we think it needs to stay above 3 or 4 volts to hold up the screw. What can we do to optimize the efficiency? Use thicker wire? User more or less loops of the wire around the core? Less wire? Pleas help!

PS: we MUST use a 6V battery.
