  • Why is Global Warming called the "Scam of the Century" so often?

I mean, really! There are so many scams out there. Calling Global Warming the scam of the century is just a bad as calling it the "Most Dire Crisis We Will Ever Face As Human Beings.

Is there really a need to exaggerate so? Do they not teach the story of "The Little Boy who cried Wolf" in school anymore?

  • Does anyone remember what a person educated about the environment is called?

I feel that most people listen to the political, rather than the scientific crowd when discussing environmental issues. Is there anyone that remembers what an Environmental scientist is called? I will give you a hint. It is not an Environmentalist. An Environmentalist is someone who cares about the environment. Someone who is educated about the environment is call an ................................?

  • Where can I rent a motorcycle in Switzerland/France?

I am going to Reinach, Switzerland on a business trip in two months. I will be spending some time in a factory in Cernay, France as well. Where can I rent a motorcycle in the area for the week? I have found a dealer in Frankfurt that rents bikes, but that is a little farther than I wanted to go to get it.

  • Was the earthquake caused by Global Warming?

There was an earthquake in the Midwest today, and I felt it in Indianapolis. Was this earthquake a direct, or indirect result of Global Warming?

  • Should I buy the Roof Boxer V helmet?

I was looking at the Boxer V helmet, and I really like the looks of it. It will cost $530.12 to ship it new from the U.K. Is there anyone that has actually used this helmet, and what did you think of it? I would hate to spend that kind of money for a helmet that is no better than a $200 helmet here in the states.

BTW: I currently have a $550 SHOEI that is 5 years old and needs replaced. It is not the money, I just want something that is worth the money I spend on it. Is it worth it?

  • Are all Psychiatrists pompus jerks, or is it just me?

I have an ex-wife who absolutely defines the term passive-agressive. We went to councelling so that we (meaning I) could figure out how to deal with this without breaking up the family. When that did not work I went to the hospital because I was having severe nightmare over her manipulation of all things. During the divorce we had to see a shrink for the good of the child. After the divorce I started seeing someone who's daughter was a Psychiatrist. My ex-wife went out of her way to track this person down, spread all sorts of lies, and now my hates me based on the word of a total stranger.

My ex stole money from my bank, hid checks from my account, threatened to kill me and herself in front of witnesses and on an answering machine. She was prosecuted in another county for check deception. She has filed numerous false police reports, causing me time and effort through the legal system.

  • Does the brand of the motorcycle say something about the person?

I ride a XXXXXXX. Do you have a preconcieved notion of the kind of person I am, emotionally or intellectually, or is it more important that I ride, as opposed to what I ride?

  • 4 questions for intellectuals. What is your reaction to...?

    1) What if I could prove, not by association, but by an actual laboratory test, that Global Warming was 100% real?

(BTW: This has not yet been done.)

    2) What If I could prove, not by association, but by an actual laboratory test, that Global Warming was 100% false?

    (BTW: Also not yet done.)

    3) What if I could prove, through evidence, that Nuclear power would increase, not decrease, any potential Global Warming?

(I can, but a topic for another question)

    4) What if I could prove that buring fossil fuels, and increasing atmospheric CO2 would actually decrease the possibility of runaway Global Warming?

(yes, this one is far fetched, but give it a thought)

Hypothetical questions. Let's see how many intellectuals actually prowl Y!A.

  • What do you think about the Dragonfly Fairing?

    http://www.dragonflycycleconcepts.com/fairings.htm

I am considering getting a fairing for long distance rides, and I would like something removable that also can hold a stereo for sound. I have a Road King with a stock exhaust, and wanted to have a windshield and a radio without having to spend money twice. Does anyone have any experience with Dragonfly?

  • Should the EPA regulate DHMO as a greenhouse gas?

    http://www.dhmo.org/environment.html

The EPA has stated that carbon dioxide is a substance that falls under their regulatory umbrella. Should they not also be concerned with DHMO? This stuff has been linked to thousands of deaths every year. Not only is it a greenhouse gas, but it directly kills many more people from oxygen displacement than CO2.

  • Pirates capture a french yacht?

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080404/wl_africa_afp...

Are we sure it was captured by pirates? Isn't it possible that someone just wanted directions and the French just surrendered in reflex?

  • Whati if Dr. Jello is really the 2nd coming of Jesus?

What if I could prove that Dr. Jello is the second coming of Jesus, and even though I cannot show you my proof in person, I have convinced someone whom you have said in the past you trust, and is educated enough that his or her credentials are beyond question.

    How would you respond?

For those who do not know who Dr. Jello is just do a search as he posts questions and answers quite frequently.

  • Do Non-muslims deserve to be punished?

A question-and-answer session with Imam Abdul Makin in an East London mosque asks why Allah would tell Muslims to kill and rape innocent non-Muslims, including their wives and daughters, according to Islam Watch.

"Because non-Muslims are never innocent, they are guilty of denying Allah and his prophet," the Imam says, according to the report. "If you don't believe me, here is the legal authority, the top Muslim lawyer of Britain."

The lawyer, Anjem Choudary, backs up the Imam's position, saying that all Muslims are innocent.

"You are innocent if you are a Muslim," Choudary tells the BBC. "Then you are innocent in the eyes of God. If you are not a Muslim, then you are guilty of not believing in God."

Choudary said he would not condemn a Muslim for any action.

"As a Muslim, I must support my Muslim brothers and sisters," Choudary said. "I must have hatred to everything that is not Muslim."

  • What do you think of the "consensus" after reading this?

I have heard about how "all scientists" agree, which I find absurd. All scientists do not even agree on E=MC^2. (believe it or not) I have found an interesting article that explains a little bit more about the "science" of Global Warming. It is a little bit long, but I would like opinions from both sides as to their take on this article.

  • How can we reduce Health Care costs without Federal Insurance?

National Health care is a financial disaster waiting to happen, in my opinion. Since we need a solution that the majority can agree upon, not just one mandated by one political party, what can we do to reduce health care costs other than a National Health care system.

The Federal Government is notoriously inefficient. There must be a better way than letting them take over 10% of our economy!
