I'm a Figure Skater and I love it! I started @ and older age, but one of my goals is to prove that even though I started late, I can be just as good as any skater who started younger if I put my mind to it. I work every day to become a better skater. I know that anything is possible through Christ. I believe in Jesus and he is my personal savior. I hope to be a witness for him! I also enjoy playing violin, singing, and art. ╬╔╦═╦═╦╗╔╦═╗ Put this on your ║║║═╣═╣║║║═╣ profile if you ╔╝║═╬═║╚╝╠═║ believe in Him. ╚═╩═╩═╩══╩═╝

  • Weird pain in lower right stomach area?

I have this weird pain in the right lower corner of my stomach. I can't decribe the pain, it's almost a dull ache...I've never felt a stomach pain like this. It's right below my waist, right under the waist band of my shorts. I'm really scared my appendix may be innflammed :/

  • Does he like me or is he just being nice?

    So, there's this guy

I kinda like that my friends are trying to match me up with. Anyway, in PE the other day, we took a walk around the park. It was really cold and I totally forgot my sweatshirt. Anyways, I was like hugging a friend cause I was freezing, and she turn to the guy I kinda like and said, "Hey can she borrow your jacket?" He wasn't wearing it at the time and tossed it back to me. Well, the next day, after school (I'm in HS) me and a group of friends went out to eat for lunch cause it was a half day. He happened to come with us, and I had left my wallet at home, so I couldn't pay for my meal. My friends offered to pay for me but then he said he would cover it, it wasn't that much (like $7). So, does he like me, or is he just being nice?

  • Figure Skaters...How do you wear your hair for practice?

So I guess this could kinda be a hair and beauty question, but I would like figure skaters to answer (I'm assuming you're girls). So I usually just wear my hair in a ponytail to practice, but I've gotten kinda bored of that. So I recently started wearing it in a messy bun and a elasticy headband...but even then I'm getting a little bored of it. I would also like some ideas for competitions too. I like creative :) So I have a few questions...

    1) How do you wear your hair for practice

    2) How do you wear your hair for competitions?

    3) What are some unique ways to wear you hair for figure skating and keep it from getting in the way/keep it out of your face?

I'm not sure if it matters, but I have shoulder length hair with some long layers. I don't have bangs. My hair is thick but very fine...Thanks in advance :)

  • Would this be good music for an upcoming competition?

I'll either be doing a freestyle 2 or 3 (isi) program... Do you think this music could work or do you think that the music is too fast paced for my level?? Also, if I do use the music I'll have to cut it. I'm pretty sure it can only be 1:30 but I'm not completely sure. What part/ parts should I skate to??? Thanks :)

  • How to be more graceful figure skating....?

I was watching some figure skaters the other day an I noticed how graceful they were. It was like on move flowed into the next one. So I know I'm not at a very high level yet, but I really want my skating to be graceful and flow together. How do you become more graceful??

  • Reasonable Goal??? And a few other quesitons?

So...I haven't had a skating lesson since March, because the rink nearby me doesn't have summer ice. Anyways, starting this summer I will be able to go the the next closest rink (106 miles away) every week for lessons and a practice (the practice would probably be about 2 to 3 hours). As of now, I had just begun to work on freestyle two elements before i had to take a break. Would it be a reasonable goal for me to be able to land all my single jumps (not including the axel) by next March (the rink nearby opens back up in Sept. so i'll be able to get more practice time). Is this reasonable...if not, why? Also...how long does it take to land an axel? And finally, if I do more off ice training, will I be able to land jumps and such easier?? Thanks :)

  • Off Ice Training Questions :)?

So right now the rink 45min. away (the closest) is not offering summer ice. My parents said once or twice a month until school is out ,they will take me to the second closest rink (3 hour round trip)for lessons (during the summer we will go every other week). Anyway, I was thinking about what I can do as off ice training. So, first I have a couple of questions about PIC or Snow White roller blades (Please keep in mind I'm in freestyle 2)

    ~Are they worth the money?

~How do they feel compared to ice?

~ Will they improve or mess up my skating?

I also have questions about Spinners (again, I'm freestyle 2)

~ How do they feel compared to ice?

~Will they improve or mess up my skating?

~Are the metal or the plastic ones better?

Also, are there any things besides practicing jumps off ice and exercising/stretching that will improve my skating? And are there any major exercises/stretches that I don't already do that really improve your skating?

Please read my workout...(if you go to my page and look under my answered questions you should be able to find it)... (oh when you read my workout, the part about jumping and the spinner my friend told me to put in because it was part of her workout)

    Thanks :)

  • Intimidated...Can anyone help?

Ok so.....i'll try to make this as short as possible. So, I've been taking skating lessons for only two or three months (before I taught myself through a freestyle 1 and 2). Anyway, I hate going to freestyle sessions because all the skaters there are like landing double axles. When I do skate at a freestyle (before or after a lesson) they like are rude to me. I skate onto the ice and they look @ me like "eww...she can't skate". I also try to say "hi" when I see them off the ice or when I'm putting on my skates, but they just look away and ignore me. So, not only are they rude, but they intimidate me because they are way better then me. I practice on my own @ public sessions...but the coaches @ my rink don't do public session lessons. I;m sometimes so intimidated by them that I don't get on to the ice until my lesson then get off when my lessons over. I feel like I'm wasting my parents time and money when I do that though. So anyways, If anyone has suggestions on what to do please answer. Thanks :)

  • Ice rink closing for summer...what to do!!!?

So, I recently discovered that the ice rink I figure skate @ is going to get rid of the ice until September (during the spring and summer they're doing indoor soccer and stuff). What do I do? The next closest rink is an hour and a half away, and with gas prices going up, my parents said they're not going to drive me. (btw...I'm not old enough to drive) They said the most they would take me is maybe once a month! I might go to one skating camp, but my parents still aren't even sure about that. What can I do? Are there any sports besides roller blading (which for some reason messes up my figure skating) that I can do? Anything I can to do continue to advance in figure skating? Or anyway I can convince my parents to take me? I've been paying for the lessons, so getting lessons isn't a problem, It's mainly just the distance and gas. Also, my dad said he doesn't like taking me because it waste his time! Help Please!!!! I need all the advice I can get! Sorry you had to listen to me ramble on!

  • Limited Practice/Ice Time...What can I do?

I'm a figure skater who has recently switched from group lessons to private lessons. Well, since I've been taking private lessons, I've been stuck on the same thing for like 5 lessons in a row. The worst thing is it is a basic move: Forward Crossovers!!! My coach decided to go over everything I learned so far and work on touching them up. It's just I haven't even gotten to show her my spins or jumps or spirals, because I formed some bad habits with my forwards crossovers. To make things worst, I only get about half an hour after my lesson (the time left over in the freestyle session) to practice because we live like 45 min. away from the rink and my parents don't like driving me (I only get to skate once a week). I do exercises and workouts which help for other parts of my skating, but is there any possible way I could practice my crossovers? (I've been doing them off-ice, but it hasn't been helping because it is a completely different feeling). Any tips on fixing them ? I really don't want to keep wasting money for lessons and get taught the same thing every week! Thank You! :)
