Why do people often conflate Cynicism with Pessimism? I am pessimistic about some things and optimistic about others, not black-and-white ?
I am skeptical of other people's motives and often keep in the back of my mind that their self-motives are to be assumed to take high priority (even if it isn't true for the sake of "it's better to be safe than sorry"). I have learned this through experience.
However, I don't come close to hating humanity! In fact, I believe humans are good overall and I actually UNDERSTAND why a person would be self-motivated because, put in their place, I would do EXACTLY that.
A lot of assumptions I have of others being self-motivated is just an assumption I make because, if I were in their place, I could see myself doing exactly that. So, to be cautious, I make sure I keep their motives in mind.
I actually ABSOLUTELY HATE pessimists.
I see pessimism as a defeatist mindset that will persuade me to fail and, put simply, I don't want to subscribe to an ideology that wants me to fail.
I am usually optimistic about things. It only makes sense to want to improve and get better. To think that the situation is hopeless is to want yourself to struggle more without good reason.
3 AnswersPsychology1 year agoAfter death, would you rather "Good" People be rewarded or "Bad" People be punished?
You can only choose one.
"Good" and "Bad" people are defined according to your moral compass (those you believe really deserve the title).
3 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 year agoWould you rather a heaven exist (where "good" people go) or a hell (where "bad" people go)?
NOTE: "Good" and "bad" people are defined according to your personal moral compass.
You can only pick one or the either (hell or heaven).
You cannot pick both, and you cannot pick neither.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 years agoI entered this command into my Mac Book Pro because I was told it'd make it run quicker, but now it's glitching?
I entered this one to make it function at lower latency speeds (or so I was told):
find ~ -name "TEMP*" -o -print | xargs rm
I was also told that to "temporarily" allow my computer to run, and I quote, "buttery smooth" with an "FPS boost", I should enter the following in the Mac terminal, to which I did and everything hasn't been working quite properly ever since:
rm -rf ${TEMPDIR}/*

1 AnswerSinging2 years agoWhy do girls say "big eyes look better" on men when Ian Somerhalder and other "hot" guys USUALLY have SMALL EYES?
Here are some examples:
Simon Nessman, Bradley Cooper, Ryan Gosling, David Beckham, Ryan Reynolds, Henry Cavil, Sean O Pry, David Gandy, River Viiperi, Mark Wahlberg, Garrett Neff, Tyson Beckford, Anwar Hadid, Matthew Noszka, and so many more

1 AnswerOther - Beauty & Style2 years agoI heard having visible upper-eyelids is ugly for men. Do I look ugly in these pictures?
https imgur com/a/NoGWlWX#NyPEiV9
Tell me the truth.
I heard that men are supposed to have small, squinty eyes and no upper-eyelids showing (like Simon Nessman, Bradley Cooper, Ryan Gosling, David Beckham, Ryan Reynolds, Henry Cavil, Sean O'Pry, David Gandy, River Viiperi, Mark Wahlberg, Garrett Neff, Tyson Beckford, Anwar Hadid, Matthew Noszka, and so many more).
I'M SO TIRED OF THIS. IT'S NOT FAIR!!!
WHY DO MEN HAVE TO HAVE TINY LITTLE EYES (LOOK AT ALL THE MEN I LISTED ABOVE!!!) AND EVERY MAN THAT IS CONSIDERED HOT HAS TINY, SLIT-LIKE SMALL EYES!? WHY?!
3 AnswersOther - Skin & Body2 years agoWhy do we continue to perpetuate the myth that the male and female orgasm are vastly different?
1) There is no evidence for this claim save for anecdotal "evidence" (if it can be called that). Just because women react more dramatically during orgasm does not mean that they have more powerful orgasms.
2) It is unfair to group all women together and say that – as a collective – they have more powerful orgasms. To the contrary, data shows that orgasms vary from individual to individual, not from male to female. In fact, data from countless studies show that males and females have near identical orgasm intensity, similar heart rate levels, and similar blood pressure levels. According to all current data, the male and female orgasm is nearly identical.

3) The likely explanation for why orgasms are described differently is due to purely psychological reasons, emotions playing a huge role.
3 AnswersMental Health2 years agoI have zero fat above my upper eyelids at all (none at all). I hate my uppereyelid exposure! Is there a surgery I can do to get hooded eyes?
I am a male. It makes me look like I'm tired all the time and I'm so sick of it.
When I say none, I mean it. I have ZERO fat above my upper eyelids, causing them to look as though they are bulging out. My eyes look like Richard Lewis' eyes.
I take that back: my upper-eyelids are more exposed than the eyelids on Richard Lewis' face. My upper-eyelids have less fat than Steve Buscemi, but it's very close to his appearance.

Will it deepen my voice? Will it make it more raspy? Will it make it sound hoarse?
Will it damage my vocal cords permanently?
6 AnswersSinging2 years agoI have Anxiety that people will believe I am Sexist –– No, I am not joking. Please Help!?
Go ahead and laugh at me. I understand.
But seriously: I'm here because I want help and I do not know where else to turn so I chose to come here. I do not have a therapist I can talk to and I am not allowed to talk to one. So here I am.
Let me cut right to the chase.
My Problems:
- When someone says something even slightly sensual-sounding, my brain thinks of what was said in a sexual context (this has nothing to do with libido or horniness since when this occurs, I am not aroused at all by these thoughts).
When what was mentioned previously occurs, my body typically 'jerks' or 'twitches'. For example, my arm or leg moves involuntarily.
Next, my brain puts two and two together and I think to myself:
"If someone around me saw what just happened (me twitching at the hearing of a word with a sexual connotation), they will think that I am a sexist/pervert."
What happens at this stage is that my face turns red with embarrassment.
- This may be hard to visualize, so
HERE IS A REAL WORLD EXAMPLE:
1. I hear the following sentence being spoken: "When will Johny and Frank come? They said they'd be here by now."
2. By hearing the word "come", my brain jumps to the word "lcum" (semen). This causes my body to twitch.
3. My face then turns red with embarrassment with the knowledge that the person in front of me had just seen me do what I just did.
