  • Question about my pelvic exam?

    Hello,

I scheduled an annual visit with a local ObGyn. However, I looked him up on Vitals and another doctor rating site and he received a 3.5 out of 5 star rating for patient satisfaction. Several reviews indicate that he has no bedside manner and is very short and to the point while other patients really like him. I found a family practice about 15-20 minutes from me that can do everything at their location from blood work to gyn exams right on site. I have already filled out the new patient paperwork for the gyn, but do you think I should cancel my appointment considering the rating he received? I would be able to see a female doctor at the family practice. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Question about physical exam?

    Hello,

I am getting my first pelvic exam at the gyn in November. Therefore, since I will have an Ob/Gyn take care of the pelvic exam, do I still need a physical with a family physician or internist? If so, what would this physical consist of for a 25 year old female? ?Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • How to speak with more resonance?

    Hello,

I work a phone job. There are times when I need to be heard, but I do not want to damage my voice by talking louder. Therefore, what are some things I can do to increase resonance in my voice so I do not have to yell into the phone in order to be heard over any background noise on the other end? Any tips on achieving a more resonant phone voice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Getting a pelvic exam?

    Hello,

I am a 25 year old female. I posted in a previous question that I would prefer a family doctor not do a pelvic exam. However, I would feel comfortable having an Ob/Gyn do tit. I found one about 10 minutes from work that can accommodate my schedule by offering me an appointment after 5PM and accepts my insurance. I looked them up on Vitals and the doctor got very good reviews from patients. However, the doctor is a male. This would be my first ever exam. Therefore, would it be a good idea to see a male doctor? Can I ask when booking the appointment that a female nurse be present? Also, I am a virgin, so do I even need to have the exam? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Can I get an annual physical without the pelvic exam?

    Hello,

I need to see a new doctor. They will probably want to do a physical on my first visit. I would be seeing a certified nurse practitioner specializing in family medicine. I am fine with a new patient exam, but I was wondering if I could skip the pelvic exam until I know she is the right provider for me. I'm not saying I won't ever get one, but I am just wondering if I could postpone it for a future visit. How do I tell the office I would like to skip this portion?

  • Question about annual exams?

    Hello,

I found a walk-in clinic located in a marc's store. They have a 5 star rating on Google and on their website, they have reviews from very satisfied patients. They are open evenings and weekends and are known to be very quick while still being thorough. Many patients reported in their reviews that they did not have to wait at all whereas the after hours family medicine practice near my home is very slow and make patients wait half an hour past their appointment time. I called the walk-in clinic and they do annual physicals for $65 without insurance, but they take insurance as well. It is just a basic exam, so a gyn exam is not included, but they said that they will probably offer that very soon. Bloodwork is optional, but available on site. Therefore, I was wondering if it would be worth the money to get the physical done there since it is a basic exam. Also, since I am 25, do I need to have bloodwork or can I skip this for now? If so, will I need to fast? Finally, since I am not having any problems, can I hold off on the gyn exam as well? I work during the day, so I cannot go during the day.

  • Question about dental visit with new dentist?

    Hello,

I had to switch dentists because of my work schedule. The new dentist offers evening appointments so I do not have to miss work to go. My old dentist forwarded my record to the new office and I called today to schedule my appointment. I know to expect a tooth cleaning and to fill out a health history, but will the dentist do anything with my retainers? My old dentist made me new ones at my last visit since the ones from the orthodontist were very loose. They used to clean them for me at every visit and check them to make sure they fit properly. If I bring them with me, will the new dentist do the same? Also, since I am a new patient, do I have to get x-rays even if I have had them within the past year? Finally, what else will the dentist check in the exam besides cavities?

  • Question about adult swim club?

    Hello,

I am considering joining an adult swim club. They focus on fitness swimming, competitive swimming, etc. I was wondering if since it is an adult club, would a physical be required before I can participate? I looked on the website and it did not mention anything about it, but does that mean it will not be required at some point before I can practice? If one is required, what would be involved for an adult female? Would it just be a basic exam such as height, weight, blood pressure, etc.? Also, I don't have a primary care provider. Therefore, where can I get the exam since I am over 21 and I think Walgreens only offers this service to people 21 and under? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Question about ipod touch?

    Hello,

I am looking at purchasing a refurbished ipod touch from Apple since I cannot afford a new one. I am considering a fourth generation Touch since it is more basic than the fifth generation model. However, I cannot determine whether the fourth generation has Bluetooth. I know that Bluetooth cannot be used to transfer files, but I would like to be able to use the Bluetooth speaker my family bought without having to connect a cord since my nano does not have Bluetooth capability. Therefore, can anyone with a fourth generation ipod touch tell me if I purchase this unit, will it come with Bluetooth? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Question about skin rash?

    Hello,

Every winter I get a patch ofirritated skin. It got better with 2-4 weeks of lotrimin and was almost not visible. However, I returned from a trip to an indoor water park on Sunday and the area is irritated again. I believe the high level of chlorine in the pool caused a reaction. Is this possible? I started the same treatment again, but I have a wedding in a couple weeks and I don't want anyone to see it since I am wearing a short dress. My mom suggested waiting until Thursday before going to see someone to get stronger medicine. Howeever, do you think it would be better for me to get a prescription now so it has time to work and it does not get any worse? The area is on my lower leg between my foot and knee. Can a grocery store clinic like Walgreens even give me anything? I don't have an urgent care near me, so this is the next best thing since I don't have a primary care doctor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Blown Away by Carrie Underwood songbook?

    Hello,

I posted before that I found a book containing piano vocal guitar arrangements of all the tracks on Carrie Underwood's album Blown Away. I'm hoping to start voice lessons in June. My prospective teacher told me that I could work on any style I chose. Therefore, I am considering using this book for voice lessons since there are some songs in there that could be great for voice lessons. I am an alto. I cannot sing much higher than a c5 without discomfort and some of those tracks have high notes in them and therefore would require some changing of key to make them work. Therefore, before I invest the money for the book, are there any songs on that album are within my range and do not require any belting? If so, please list them. I mean songs that can be sung as is without needing to transpose the key. Thank you.

  • Question about singing low notes?

    Hello,

I am considering entering a talent contest at my local county fair this summer. I plan to sing and play piano. I am thinking about doing a Lady Antebellum song, such as I Run to You, Hello World, or Golden. However, I have a question. I can sing the low notes, but I was instructed by a previous voice teacher to use my chest voice fully and sing the low notes louder. That is fine for musical theatre, but these pieces were not meant to be belted in the lower register. I also don't want a really breathy sound down in that range either. Therefore, is there a way I can get a warm and resonant sound in the lower register without having to use full chest voice to get it? I'm an alto by the way. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Question about finding a doctor?

    Hello,

I am in the process of looking for a family doctor since my paediatrician can no longer see me. A health centeer associated with a larger hospital received good reviews from residents saying they are always fast and professional, so I am considering going there. However, I have a question that is not on their website. They have a contact form, but they want me to provide my address and phone number. Since I have not made a commitment to them and I just want to know something simple, I refuse to give them my phone number and mailing address. I don t mind giving my email, but no phone number. The address and phone number have a star by them, so they are required. Therefore, is it acceptable to put N/A in those fields since I really don t want them having that information? Thank you.

  • Blown Away by Carrie Underwood?

    Hello,

I was looking online and found that there is a book with all the songs from Carrie Underwood's album Blown Away containing piano, vocal, and guitar music. I like the album, so I am considering bjuying the book to use if I can find a voice teacher willing to teach contemporary music. The book costs $19.95, so it is a bit expensive. The concern I have with buying the book is that some of the songs would need to be transposed down several keys for them to fit my voice (I'm an alto two) so songs like See You Again, Good in Goodbye, etc would need to be transposed down at least a whole step if not more. Therefore, since multiple songs need to have the key adjusted, is it worth spending the $20 for the book or should I try to get a hold of individual pieces in a different key? Or would a voice teacher try to help me with the high notes in the original key? I would like some opinions before I spend the money and go through all the trouble of getting an accessible copy. Thank you.

  • Burn by Jo Dee Messina?

    Hello,

I am considering auditioning for a virtual idol competition next year. I am considering the songs Burn or Bring on the Rain by Jo Dee Messina. However, neither fit my range perfectly. I'm an Alto, so my range is pretty low. I can't sing above a fifth octave c comfortably. With Burn, there are a couple high notes in there like at the second chorus in the line "Burn for me burn for me" as well as the chorus itself is in my break area. Therefore, I am considering dropping the chorus down an octave to accommodate the range issue. I can't really lower the entire song since I don't want the verse to end up being too low. Would the average listener even notice if I dropped the chorus down? If it is a big deal, what are some techniques I can try to make the high notes easier? Would Bring on the Rain fit my range better than Burn? I would love any opinions on this. Thank you.

  • Question for call center agents?

    Hello,

I am considering working in a call center. I've experienced outbound calling somewhat setting appointments and found I do not like it. People are nasty and yell at you all the time. Therefore, for those of you who have worked in an inbound call center, is it any better since customers are calling you for help instead of something like telemarketing where you are calling a customer looking to sell something? Although I am not selling anything, people are still very nasty and I do not know how much more I can handle. Is working in an inbound call center any better? Do customers still get nasty on the phone?

  • Getting eyebrows waxed for the first time?

    Hello,

One of my local hair salons is offering a makeover including highlights, a haircut, shampoo and condition, blowdry and style, and an eyebrow wax. I have an event coming up, so I am considering booking an appointment for this package. However, I have always avoided the eyebrow wax because I have heard it is really painful. I don't think I can book the makeover without the waxing, so I will have to do it. This would be my first time ever getting my eyebrows waxed. How painful is it? Be honest. Should I let them know I've never had waxing when I book the appointment so they can let the stylist know? Is there anything I can do beforehand to make the procedure less uncomfortable? Can the salon use some sort of numbing agent to make it hurt less? Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • How to add a third phone line?

    Hello,

I posted this before, but I have additional information that might be helpful. I may be offered a work from home telemarketing job in a few months. The company requires a dedicated phone line. However, no digital phone service is allowed now can I use a voip connection. In addition, Magic jack and similar services are not allowed either. It has to be a standard landline. My parents already have two lines for their business, so a third line would need to be brought in. I have to use the same phone company they already use which is Frontier. Therefore, how much am I looking at spending for a third landline? As I said, it has to be a standard landline and must be on a separate line from my Internet connection. Thank you.

  • Question about breathing for singing?

    Hello,

I am in a community choir and am in the alto section. I have been told by several directors to breathe from the diaphragm. I understand the principle, but it does not work for me. I can get a deeper breath using chest breathing as opposed to diaphragmatic breathing. It works for me this way, so is it okay to breathe like this as long as it is not causing discomfort when singing? Or do I have to try to learn this technique? I can't afford a vocal coach and the videos online are useless to me since I am visually impaired and therefore cannot see what the person is doing. Does anyone have any exercises that might help me get the hang of this? I know that lying on the floor works, but are there any other positions I can try that do the same thing as singing while lying on the floor? Please describe in detail any exercises you have that might help. Thanks in advance.
