I'm quiet on the outside but loud on the inside. yeah. I mostly hang around the dancing section because I like to dance. Dance is the best and I love it. A lot. and I also hang around the Religion and Spirituality section a lot, -spreading around my Quaker insights :) (Which is probably why I've really never gotten a best answer in that section. lol) Sometimes the music section, but there isn't a whole lot of questions about stuff I know about there. So thats kind of pointless. yeah... -I play bass clarinet in marching band - take Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Tap, Lyrical, Hiphop and Jazz classes five days a week -I can speak two languages, English and Norwegian -And I love being a Quaker :) Oh, and by the way, if you have any questions about Quakerism, I'd love to chat :) email me

  • Trying to find super intense music?

I'm trying to find a piece of music we used in contemporary... Sounded something like Hans Zimmer or Zack Hemsey?? It was really intense and fast paced. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it could be? I just need names of artists

  • Hip problems with ballet?

Every time I have to do a grand battement/saut de chat/ anything that you have to stretch your legs in ballet, my right hip seems to pop out of the socket and I have to pop in back in with my hand after the exercise. It doesn't really hurt, but I feel like this shouldn't happen... Does anyone know what this is, or how I can stop it? Thanks!

  • Out of these majors, what do you think would be the most beneficial?

    Civil Engineering

    Environmental Architecture

    Urban Planning

    Architecture (BArch)

I'm kind of stuck between these-- A dream job would be to work building and designing large scale building projects like schools, hospitals, museums, etc etc. But also be environmental conscious

What degree do you think would be the most valuable in this upcoming job market if I wanted to pursue a career like this?

  • Friend visiting from Miami- help!!?

I live in Southeastern PA- a little west of Philly and a little north of Wilmington. There is absolutely NOTHING to do around here, and I have a friend from Miami who wants to visit me for a weekend! He has never been anywhere near my hometown and I'm afraid we'll run out of things to do.

I was thinking that one night we could go see a Philadelphia Union soccer game and tailgate with food and drinks from the Mid-Atlantic area (Capriotti's hoagies, Dogfish head beer, etc etc) because we're both really into soccer, and I was going to take him to my Quaker meeting on sunday (His idea, not mine- He's really into religion and never has met a quaker other than me!! haha) but I really don't know what else to do!!

Does anyone know any non-touristy type stuff we could do in the Southeastern PA/Wilmington DE area?

Also, is there anything unique about this area? I don't want to do things that he could just do back at home in Florida.

  • Walking from amtrak to rittenhouse square? Philly? ?

A friend and I were thinking of taking the amtrak from Wilmington, DE to the 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. We would like to walk to Rittenhouse Square (about a mile) but I'm not sure if this is safe. Googlemaps makes it look like we have to cross a highway and a bridge. Has anyone done this route, and do you think it is safe to walk?

  • Exercises to slim legs?

Hi guys! Well, ok, so i'm fairly petite and curvy (5'2", 35-25-34, 115lbs) but I feel like my thighs are obnoxiously unproportional. They measure at 22 inches. Is there any exercises where I can make them smaller? If it helps, I'm a ballet dancer so they are pretty muscular already, I just need something extra that targets my thighs. Thanks so much! :)

  • Sleep problems. Help? :D?

I'm a freshman in highschool and on average I get about 3-5 hours of sleep every night... I've been doing this every night including weekends for about two or three years straight now and I seriously can't get to bed any earlier that 2:00 am... And even if I try I always wake up 4 hours later unable to go back to sleep. Sometimes it feels worse to try to get more sleep than to just stay up. I don't get it. Theyve put me on a lot of different sleep aids and everything and nothings ever helped. I've been dealing with sleep disorders since I was really little. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to get more sleep without waking up early?

**And I know I'm supposed to be getting like 9 hours or sleep or something, but that means I'd have to go to bed at 9 and with my ballet schedule I could be doing homework until 1 am every night... There's no way I can get nine hours of sleep every night without my grades dropping like crazy

    1. Admit that is was actually me and suffer the consequences (that at this point I can't afford)

    2. Keep it a secret and let the other kid get blamed (And then live with the guilt the rest of my life)

    gah so lost. stupid me

  • How do I confront my friend? I'm really concerned?

Too keep a long story short: Everyone can tell that something is wrong with my best friend. She won't eat anything anymore, especially in public, and she's losing tons of weight. She's about 5' 5" and I'm afraid to say, but about 85- 90 pounds. She's extremely conscious about her grades and keeps on obsessing about colleges. She also has been acting kind of depressed and won't hang out with me or anyone else after school or on weekends. Some of my friends and I wanted to have an intervention but we're not sure how to confront her because she never will open up to anyone anymore, and she doesn't see anything wrong with herself. We're really afraid she'll lose more weight and get more depressed but we just don't know what to do. Does anyone have any ideas? Please...

  • Why am I still gaining weight?

I've had no appetite for the past week.. i seriously just cant eat anymore. Just the thought of food makes me feel sick. I also just started a new crazy dance schedule with a different ballet company, and I've been at the studio in class for 15 hours in the past 4 days. It just doesn't make sense and its making me really mad. Does anyone have any ideas why? I can't think it's stress because this has been the least-stressful time of the year because i don't have to deal with school on top of dance. Trust me, I know what that feels like, and this isn't it.

  • strange colorful pufferfish? what kind?

A friend and I were net fishing in the delaware bay, and we found this fish...

When it wasn't puffed up it was no bigger than a quarter, was blackish-green and had yellow spikes. When it was puffed up it was black and the yellow spikes turned to bright yellow spots. I have never seen anything like this in the Delaware Bay and was wondering if anyone could identify the fish... i couldn't find it on the internet anywhere.

  • Professional Dancer- but too short?

I have been told many times that I should be a professional dancer. Ive been to too many auditions, only to lose the part because of my height. I'm almost 5' 2" and about 110 pounds (but I don't look overweight). Do you know of any companies that work with only shorter people ? I've heard somewhere that there is a company like the rockettes for people who are too short to fit the height requirement. What is that called again? (or am i making this up)
