Mainly we see this "red snow" when a scene is really dark or there is a dark background on the picture. The funny thing is by accident I noticed that if I plug in my laptop power adapter to the outlet that the lcd is plugged into, the red snow is 95% gone. It takes a day or two once the adapter is plugged in for the red snow to disappear. What could be the problem?

I have a 1TB external Hard Drive I would like to use to backup my computers. I have about 3 different computers to back up. I will be using Acronis True Image 2010 Home. Can I have System Images for Three different computers on one hard drive?

My concern is that if I need to restore my computer using the system image I created how my computer would react to the other computers images.

Can I get a virus if I hook another computers hard drive up to my computer externally via sata to usb connection. I need to scan the hard drive to see if it has bad sectors.

All of my windows updates are up to date. I have a firewall plus I am connected to a router plus my anti virus is all up to date and has the latest definitions installed.

I realize nearly anything is possible when talking about computers and virus's. However, Im looking into more of the probable aspect.

Doesnt matter if it can mount/burn just create .ISO files. Im mainly interested in backing up software I own.

Recently I have removed several viruses for family and frieds and thought about making some extra money by removing viruses for people. Problem is I don't want to take the infected computer and wirelessly connect to the internet with my router in fear that it will spread to my other personal computers.

Is this possible? If so, would it be better to connect the infected computer directly with an ethernet cable bypassing my router? Any ideas/suggestion?

I just got a new computer with windows 7 and this is one of the short comings, lack of screen savers! Any suggestions on sites with free screen savers that are safe?

Im going to be selling my laptop AS IS because the motherboard is bad. I have removed the HDD and installed it into an enclosure. I want to make sure before I sell the laptop that all personal info is gone. I assume taking out the HDD would accomplish this? Do I need to worry about the RAM or anything else having personal info on it?

My Vizio is showing Red pixels mainly where there should be a dark background. Or, if someone is wearing dark clothing its show as numerous red pixels. Its almost lie a red "snow" affect. We replaced the Main Board but no luck. Any suggestions??

I need to replace the Motherboard in my HP laptop dv6119us. Part number is 443775-001. These are around $130 on ebay. However, Part Number 443774-001 is about half the price on ebay($65). I had heard 443774-01 may be compatible with my 443775-001 but just wanted to make sure before I made the purchase.

Motherboard just went out. I'm thinking of replacing it as I can pick one up for around $100 on ebay. But may just decide to sell AS-IS for parts. Does anyone know what this may be worth?

I have just discovered that anyone trying to call me from a landline gets a messge stating "this number is not in service. They tried dialling with my area code plus the "1". Also without the area code. It is only happening with landlines. Cell phone or other voip calls come thru no problem. Any thoughts

I have tried everything to remove this from McAfee to Spybot to Malwarebytes and nothing is working.

Basically what happening is I search something in yahoo or google and the headline search results are fine but when I look on the hyperlink to the website its something totally different that has nothing to do with my search. Im assuming this is the result of a hijacked browser but not sure? My homepage is fine and I have found no new "favorites" added.

If I reinstall windows xp will this solve the problem. I dont want to go thru all the work of doing this then find it did not solve the issue. Please Help!!!!!

Yahoo and Google search are not working properly. When I type in a search the search results dont match the hyperlink to the website. When I look at the actual website its something totally different. The weird thing is I go to my comcast home page and do a search (which is powered by google) and the search results are fine.

I thought its was my IE so I downloaded the version 8. This did not help. So I did a full system scan with McAfee which found a few suspicious items such as possible Spyware/Adware. I also downloaded Spybot and ran a system scan. This found 138 items of which Spybot fixed. I cleaned my cookies, defraged and still the same thing. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

I want to make yahoo my default mail but dont know how. I have tried tool, internet options, programs, then choosing yahoo mail from the drop-down menu, however yahoo is not listed. I have installed the latest yahoo messenger 7.2. Any ideas?
