  • Itunes says I purchased a song, but it didn't download to my Itunes library...?

I purchased a song, but it was taking a little while than longer to download and I had to shut my computer down. I still got charged for the song, and it shows up in my Itunes purchase history, but it didn't download! Even when I "Check for Available Downloads" it says that all available downloads have been downloaded.

Am I S.O.L? Do I just download the song again and pay another $1.29?

  • Can a bounced check from 4 years ago come back to haunt you? More details inside...?

Last week I wrote a check at my local grocery store (like I do every week) and it wasn't accepted. I called the number given to me to see why Telecheck declined to accept my check and was told that I have a bounced check from February of 2004 and none of my checks will be accepted until it is paid.

What I don't understand is this: That check was written 4 years ago when I banked with a different bank. That account was closed in April of 2006. That's right...2 years after this check 'bounced'. Also, I did not have a negative balance when I closed it. It was at $0. Plus, I go to this grocery store and write a check every single week, so why hasn't my check been declined in the past 2 years I've been going there?

I don't even know where to begin to get this figured out, so any advice would be helpful. Do I go to my old bank first? Or do I just argue with the peope at Telecheck about it?

    Thanks for any advice!

  • Please help! I need help with finding the artist of a punky kind of song from pre-2002?

I was just listening to an old burnt cd of mine and remembered that I loved this particular song, but the writing was wiped off. The cd was burnt for me in 2002, so the songs are from before that obviously.

I believe the name of the song is 'One of a Kind' and that the artist is 'Brody' but I can't find it anywhere.

    The chorus goes like this:

'You are the girl for me only you can't see me, your eyes are not open

'Cause I am One of a Kind and you'll never find a guy who will love you more'

Thanks so much for any help!

  • Any ideas for a rugged, waterproof camera??

I do a lot of snowboarding in the winter and hiking, kayaking, camping, etc in the summer. I have a digital camera now, but it's too delicate for me to take on the mountain or pull out when we're on the water and I'm looking for something that's more up to the challenge.

I saw the Minox DC6033 WP and while I think it's great...it's a little out of my price range (it's $300) for a camera that will be used only during my outings.

I'd prefer something not more than $200 if that's possible.

    Thanks for the advice!

  • Does anyone know of any good touch-screen add ons?

So here's the deal... I recently bought the HP computer that has the swivel screen that can lie flat. I also had the option to upgrade to the touchscreen w/stylus, but I couldn't really see how I would be getting much use out of it, but I passed. Now I realize how useful the touchscreen would have been, especially when I have my screen flipped around and flat.

My question is, does anyone know of any decent add-on touchscreens out there? I've ran across a couple, but I've never heard of them before, so I wanted to get some opinions.

    Thanks for any help!

  • Any personal financing book suggestions?

Hi. I'm looking for a book on managing personal finances/debt. A few that I have looked at seem mostly about 'getting rich' and investing. While that sounds great and all...I'm not at that point in my life where I can invest.

I'm 23 years old and will be done with grad. school in about 3 more years. Currently, I am surviving on a very limited income with very little extra money. I also had a bad spell with credit cards when I first turned 18 - the negative accounts have been closed, however my credit is still marred and they will not be removed for 3 more years. Obviously, I am in no place to 'invest', and I do not qualify for a 401(k) at my work, so books that focus solely on those two aspects will not be of much help to me.

Anyone have any advice on books that someone like myself can actually benefit from? Thanks for any suggestions!

  • Why is Spy Sweeper not running on my computer?

At the end of August I got a new HP laptop from best buy. It has Windows Vista, Spy Sweeper and Trend Micro Anti-Virus on it. I noticed last week that when I turned my computer on, a box pops up that says SS couldn't locate a valid definitions file. Also, I have an alert from SS saying that 4 of 4 critical shields are off. I can't turn these shields on, and whenever I try to update the valid definitions file, it won't happen.

I took my comp. to the Geek Squad at Best Buy (that's where I got it from), and they uninstalled then re-installed it. The next day I noticed it still had the same problem.

I'm not very technologically savvy, and I wanted to get some advice on here before I take it back to Best Buy.

    Thanks.

  • When is the best time to tip the bartender?

I'm going to a wedding this weekend with an open bar. When would be the best time to tip the bartender? Usually I tip per drink, but would it be okay to give a larger tip (probably $15-20) when I get my first drink, or maybe at the end of the night? I am not bringing a purse, so I don't want to keep going to my date to get my money to go tip the bartender.

    Thanks for any advice!

  • Is the smoke making me sick? What can I do about it?

I work in an office for a very large corporation. Recently, they laid a lot of people off and kept me, but moved me to a different office. Everyone in this office smokes except for me. It's terrible. My nose and throat burn constantly, and It's only been one week that I've been here!

My question is this? Is there any medicine that I can get for it, or anything I can do to make it not so bad I know the best thing would be to go to the supervisors and tell them, but they smoke in here too. I am the ONLY non-smoker. I don't want to make a huge deal about it because I'm 'the new girl' and it seems that my new co-workers aren't the most friendly in the first place.

  • Just got a raise and want to open an IRA?

I just got a raise of approximately $100/month. I don't "need" the extra money, and I'm only considered part-time at my job, so I don't qualify for a 401 k just yet.

I'm looking into opening a traditional IRA, but I'm confused. Would I be able to contribute more to it later on? Currently I'm planning on contributing $1200/year into it. Whenever I graduate from grad school though and start a career in my field(in approx. 3 years), I will be able to contribute more. Plus if I get married, won't that affect it somehow?

Can anyone clear this up for me? As you can tell, I'm pretty conrfused on it all and don't understand all that business jargon.

  • Does financing jewelry increase your credit score faster?

I was just poking around on here and someone mentioned that if you finance jewelry and make payments, it raises your FICO score 2 points per payment. Whereas with a normal account, it only raises your score 1 point per payment. Apparently jewelry is considered a 'luxury account'.

I can't find any info. to back it up. I'm not a jewelry person myself, so I won't be doing that, but I was just wondering how true it is.

  • Should I cancel this account? Or does it help my credit score?

I just ran my credit report, and I noticed that I still have an account with a major department store that I no longer shop at. I have had it since 2003. I only made one purchase (the original one) with the card, and immediately paid it off. I haven't used it since then.

I have a few negatives on my report, with medical bills & a credit card (which are all paid off and closed!). But the positives I have are my car loan (which has never been late), this major department store, and my student loan (less than $3,000, deferred payment).

Should I cancel this department store credit card since I haven't used it in so long, or is it helping my credit because there have been no late payments?

  • Anyone know a nice Toyota dealer in Michigan?

Alright, so I've decided that I want a Toyota Yaris. I really like it because it's inexpensive, and it gets great gas mileage. I am a student paying for college, so I think that the car will be perfect for me. However, I've dealt with some extremely rude Toyota sales people the past few weeks. I know that a Yaris isn't an expensive car, but that's all I can afford. Whenever I tell them that I am looking for a Yaris, the response isn't exactly well...friendly.

I've gone to 3 toyota dealers and have had similar responses. The worst was last week when I had an actual appointment set up with someone to test drive one, and they ditched me and made me sit around for an hour b/c some guys came in and wanted a Seqouia. So rude.

I live in Southeastern Michigan, but wouldn't mind driving a little ways if it means that they'll treat me with respect.

    Thanks for any help.

  • Information on abused birds?

Does anyone know of any books or resources on abused birds?

I may be adopting a bird that was severely abused, but I would like to get all the info I can. It's a pretty sad story. I have large bird experience, so I think I will be prepared to deal with it. I also know that it will take a lot of time, effort, and patience on my side to earn trust. I would just like something to reference in case I had other questions. I also belong to a parrot forum website, but not too many people on there have rescued an abused bird.

    Thanks for any help.

Look at what this guy is selling on E-bay! 'Apparently' all these birds have just dropped dead for no apparent reason.

Is anyone else bothered by this?

  • Roudybush Formula AL Liver Care pellets?

My bird has liver disease and the pet store recommended I get him Roudybush Formula AL Liver Care pellets. It's available through prescription only. I have an appointment with the avian vet next friday, and I will ask her about it then.

I've googled it and haven't found much about it. Has anyone had experience with it or heard anything about this? Please let me know.

    Thanks.

  • Can you tell me about school psychology vs. social psychology?

I'm very indecisive. I've been looking into Master's and pH.d programs for School Psychology and Social Psychology. I'm really interested in them both. Is anyone out there currently going to school for or graduated with a degree in either? Do I need a teaching certificate for school psychology?

Any websites would be great to check out too, I've checked out a few already, but they're not very clear.

    Thanks!
