6 AnswersMythology & Folklore9 years agoIs it reasonable that politicians behave this way?
The main theme in politics these days seems to be party unity. My question is this,is it reasonable to put party unity before the task of performing the duties of the office a person is elected to?It seems that both major parties have put party loyalty first and never consider that politics is the "Art Of Compromise",so that nothing is really getting done in State or National congresses here in the U.S. besides a lot of petty squabbling.
Is this sort of thing reasonable,or even necessary?
3 AnswersPolitics9 years agoWhy do we even let them run for office?
As you know, most politicians are not interested in improving life for their constituents, but would rather line their pockets instead. They claim to be serving us but are in fact the lapdogs of big business, and are constantly selling their influence to the highest bidders.
Partisan politics and the cult of personality have crippled our legislative branch to the point where things only get done if it is in the interest of the Military/Industrial complex to have a given bill passed.
Can we not see that these clowns are selling us down the river? How long will it be before they make wage-slaves out of us all?
Why do we let this happen?
6 AnswersElections10 years agoAren't you just a little embarrassed?
So many people have nothing right now,and so many of us are well-off enough to be spending time on the internet.Shouldn't we be just the slightest bit ashamed of our selfishness in a world where too many people go hungry and homelessness is so pervasive?

10 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agowhy do college students seem so obsessed with anime?
As a fan of animation it puzzles me that young people seem so taken with what appears to me to be an inferior product.Western animation has motion in every two frames where as anime motion is in every three frames giving it a jerky, almost ghostly feel.
And the giant robots, don't get me started on them...
There are many amazing animators out there,so why are these bright youngsters settling for less than impressive mass produced product? Is it the novelty of a "strange culture"?
Before you start thinking that I'm some old fool, understand that my favorite show on T.V. is "The Venture Brothers".I was a child when "Johnny Quest" was a first-run series,so I get a real sense of pleasure watching Jackson Publick and Doc(Eric) Hammer do their best to keep the "Hannah-Barbarian" universe alive.
So why all the crazy giant robot, kinky schoolgirl outfit weirdness?
13 AnswersComics & Animation1 decade agoweird political question involving imperialist views?
Wouldn't it make more sense to have the U.S. and our two neighbors(Canada & Mexico)join up into one huge super-federated union?Wouldn't this make for a safer and more prosperous future for all North Americans?
3 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhere do they find these people?
I'm referring to these imbeciles in the "Tea Party" movement. If you listen to them talk it's like hearing the chattering of brain-damaged monkeys.Sure, they are a photogenic group, but looks are nothing without substance and these whack-a-loons probably couldn't even spell the word "substance".
It boggles my mind to think that not only are these silly fools running for office, some of them might actually win.Is ignorance a requirement for political office these days?
7 AnswersElections1 decade agoWould you like a real change?
Would you like to see the dim-wits in congress held accountable for their sorry performances?Would you like to see the lobbyists sent to some far away place where they cannot subvert the constitution?
Would you like to know what the creeps in Washington are really up to?
Would you like to see the end of partisan politics altogether?
Would you like to live under a government that is more interested in serving the people instead of protecting its own intrests?
Could such things ever really happen?
3 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWhat is so great about a religion that preaches intolerance?
I'm not just referring to Christianity,I'm talking about Islam too.I've read both books(The Bible and The Koran)and it seems to me that both books are full of hatred for people of other faiths.
Isn't God supposedly a god of peace and love?I can't reconcile this with the mean-spiritedness of those books,it just doesn't make sense.
What do YOU think?Be honest!
24 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoA question involving Latin.?

3 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoCan anyone tell me the title of this Japanese movie?
I've seen it twice, but I've never caught the first few minutes.
It is about a ninja named Jotaro and his struggle against an evil Chinese sorceror and his five demon priests. The plot revolves around the fate of the SPIDER TEA POT.It has great production values and is really a great flick, but not knowing the title has driven me nuts for nearly twenty years now.
Please,somebody help me out here!
2 AnswersMovies1 decade agoWould you like to start a new-fangled religion?
Really, would anyone like to start a new religion and throw out all of the old, outdated religions? These old religions seem determined to keep people "in line"with nonsense about "the rapture" and "hidden prophets".I'm against superstition and ignorance, because they breed intolerance...so seriously, who wants to start a new religion?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs it just me,or do people treat each other like they're disposable?
I see it every day, people acting like nobody else has feelings except themselves. Is our culture so self absorbed that we are able to hurt one another so callously as that?
7 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoIs it just me,or does it seem like people have gotten stupider of late?
Is the human race rushing headlong into a state of total idiocy? Why can't the average American put together a complete sentence?Who taught these fools how to spell?Did the "No child left behind" mandate doom our children to a life of illiteracy? What the @$&#?
